As HBO OnDemand already has the Pilot available, we can discuss without all those unsightly black bars.

I'm not sure I liked it or not. I need my dramas with just a little bit of comic relief, and there wasn't much here at all. Perhaps the eps with less exposition will provide some levity.

Watched it...it had such a "been there watched that before" feel to it. What makes this show different? It's the same old couples with the same old problems.

And balls. Don't forget the balls!

Based on the first episode, if you take away the simulated sex and the below the waist body parts, you have what looks like it could be a decent relationship drama but nothing special. I find the oldest couple the most interesting, I really didn't care too much about the infertile couple (and defintely could have done without the scene where she "gathers" her own sperm sample).

As others have mentioned, the episodes are available on HBO On Demand. The second ep is now up.

Spoiler:

The second ep is better IMO than the pilot. The young couple is still stupid and boring... and no longer a couple. The middle couple has an interesting visit with May in which they actually decide to tell her the "truth". Plus, the older couple gets their issues out in the open... as much as they're capable of doing.

If the youngest couple breaks up then this review makes sense:

There's only one couple in "Tell Me" that's in fairly good shape and compatible. The rest should break up, I think, and go have sex with other people until they find their real soul mates. At least one character may do just that -- and bully for her for trying.

From another review:

News of a couple's pregnancy is used only to fuel an argument; a divorce is seen as another reason to not rock the boat. Love, real love, cannot occur in a vacuum, which this show makes abundantly clear.

I'm actually kind of hoping the pregnancy is NOT the middle couple.

In those HBO Ondemand shorts, they have a few little snippets of what's to come for the season. There is one scene of David telling May and Katie about how married with children affects him not being in the mood and Katie has those sad eyes. It's worth checking out for a few little teasers of the upcoming season.

Collider.com provides two clips from the second episode, one with Katie and Dave and the other with Jamie and Hugo.

One reviewer said that she couldn't have foreseen where Jamie in particular goes as a character over the ten episodes. Also, Katie is supposed to turn from a too-nice people-pleaser to an excavator of her desires - whatever that means.

Jamie will be looking to have sex with other men now that her relationship with Hugo is on the rocks. Ian Somerhalder will play a friend of the couple and Jamie may be interested in knocking boots with him. (That's what I've gathered from spoiler snippets.)

HBO On Demand (Comcast is my cable system) has the second episode available.

I'm sorry to report that personal hygiene does not improve for the fertility-challenged woman (Palek's wife...I can't remember her name even after watching two episodes) It must be a hygiene-challenged neighborhood since there is EWWWW incident with Kate as well.

I thought the second episode was not good. The youngest couple continued to have the same fight, another 16,000 times and it's still not interesting. They appear to have broken up. The infertile couple was also more of the same, with the husband starting to tell the truth a teeny bit in therapy, which went over like a lead balloon. The wife in that couple is really, really unlikable and I kinda don't want her to have a baby on which to inflict her crappy, crappy personality. Oldest couple went shopping for back to school supplies with their kids for what felt like the first 10 minutes of the show. And then they didn't have sex.

There's a "mystery" guy from the therapist's past that she traded voice mails with.

Yes, it was that exciting.

Oh, but how can you omit the drugs?
The annoying unmarried couple having their 16,000th fight are looking at a house to have their next annoying fight in. Dude pulls something out of his pants (not that!) pocket that looks like some kind of powder or ecstasy-looking whatever. So they commence to make love in their new (maybe) unfurnished abode. They then embark on a road trip while looking goofily stoned and all "I'm feeling so high and just love looking at you right now" and it looks like any moment they will crash the car and die in a horrible accident.
But dammit, they don't.
They wind up at a convenience store at the tail end of the buzz. He gets in the car and she starts up with her complaint about not trusting him......blah blah blah.....whine #16,001.

I liked the second ep better than the first. But didn't the 20s couple disappear for a lot of the show? Maybe that is why I liked it better. Sorry but I disliked them, esp. her.

The Infertile couple is getting more interesting. She is more unlikeable than he is. I thought this in the first eppy and it just crystallized in the second. I loved her red purse, though. And the previews for the third episode make her look even bitchier. And I think I got a glimpse of a non white person.

Caught epi 3 On Demand, and it doesn't get much better for me. I thought nothing could be more annoying than Jaime whining at Hugo for an hour, but Jaime whining without Hugo for an hour actually tops that on the "STFU, Jaime" scale. And she seems to smoke her way through enough packs that Freud must have been a consultant on the episode. Perhaps the saddest thing about the Hugo/Jaime storyline is that the previews for ep 4 demonstrate that Hugo's absence from ep 3 had nothing to do with death. Another fantasy shattered.

Is one of Jaime's friends, the one who told her Jaime should come to live with her when her house is finished, Carolyn's sister? All these people are so forgettable, I don't really remember the actress's face very well from the brunch with Carolyn and Palek.

I want to be Carolyn's lover. I mean, sure she's a bitch, but any woman who equates 20 seconds and 6 pelvic thrusts with "you just fucked the shit out of me" obviously has extremely low sexual expectations. My kind of woman!

Dave needs to speak. I find their story the most compelling, but three episodes of relative silence between them is enough already. Looks like he joins the therapy party in ep 4.

Oh, and more pasty old flesh is exactly what we needed. Not.

I also sat through the crapfest that was the third episode. I'm so over Carolyn and Palek I could barf. Palek looks like a bastardized Gale Harold anyway. After the previews for the season, where Jaime was telling the therapist that she'd been acting out, I was expecting her to actually screw someone else, even the stripper. That would've made the show a hell of a lot more interesting. Sadly, no. I know HBO has a reputation for shows starting out slowly, but I never thought I'd be bored by watching a show with so much sex. I really want more of Katie and Dave.

I think Episode 2, the sister (Morgan?) said something to Carolyn on the phone about "I'll have Jamie send some food over from the restaurant", for some dinner Carolyn was having. I wondered (briefly) if this was the same Jamie from the boring young couple and the show was going to have the couples be six-degreed together....then I nodded off from boredom before I could think about if further.

I'm going to catch E3 on demand because a) I have too much time on my hands and b) I'm fascinated by how bad this show is.

God. You know a show is bad when fucking Jane Alexander is getting laid and Ally Walker is not. In Episode 3 The 143 year old couple are at it once again.

The show is slowly picking up...and by slowing I mean there is a patch of paint that finally dried. Episode 4 will be good though, that's when Dave finally goes to therapy judging from the previews.

I really want more of Katie and Dave.

These two are getting on my nerves, especially after episode 3. I mean, their 10 year old kid realizes that they just need to go ahead and fuck already. The thing with the kid, the dad, and the lingerie was just painful to watch.

I REALLY did not need to see a 75 year-old man's ass... not at all. Uh uh. Why?

I actually like this show... I can't help it. This is despite the fact it can be painfully slow and completely retarded at times.

The 3rd ep was okay. Katie and Dave make me sad... however, the 10 year-old picking out lingerie for her Mom and asking her to open it in the restaurant was quite disturbing. Palek calling Carolyn "f*cking crazy" was the understatement of the year. Carolyn is by far the least likeable character on the show. I did enjoy his "my parents must've had telephone sex" line and her subsequent "(laughing) wait, what does that mean?". I feel bad for Jamie, but she's so completely GODdamn annoying it's ridiculous.

Was the guy Jamie was hooking up with the same guy who plays Billy on Entourage?

I watched episode 3 tonight. A bizarre story line where non-fucking dad takes his 10 year daughter with him to shop for a present for his wife for their anniversary. After about 100 hours of shopping, the daughter runs over to the lingerie dept. and picks up a very slutty black and purple bustier and panties thing. Rather than gently telling his daughter it might not be quite right for Mommy, he buys it. Because...? He's more afraid to possibly hurt his daughter's feelings a little than he is to give his wife a thoughtless and cruel present (given their current non-fucking situation)? Who knows!

And he gives her this outfit at a family dinner. In a restaurant. Because that's what his daughter wants. Douche! And after all that terribleness for her, when they get home, the wife gives him a freaking Tivo, the awesomest present one human being can give another. Another miserable non-fucking day in the life of poor Ally Walker.

There was a moment where he seemed like he might actually communicate something to her about his sex issue, but it passed. Oh, we also got to see where he works and 2 minutes of watching his workplace made me want to kill myself.

I'm guessing he's going to turn out to be gay.

Also: Free Palek!

Carolyn must be permanently moist, like a randy sow in heat...because she and Palek have yet to engage in any form of foreplay. Good god!

And what is this BS about "I got myself checked out"? The woman had an ultrasound for crying outloud...

Word to that. That was all kinds of uncomfortable and inappropriate. Not to mention he held the hanger like it was gonna bite him!

I only watched the first half hour, so I guess I missed the elder-sex and the inappropriate gifting at dinner...HA!

Thanks for clearing up that Jaime's friend was Carolyn's sister. Small world, huh?

Hated the dinner party/birthday party mostly because of all the posturing Dave was doing. Anyone else offended by the douche he works with talking about the hot sex he assumes Dave will be getting on his anniversary? Am I too sensitive?

Yes, I believe it was. And when she told him there would no sex, I was ready for "Billy' to explode and tell her she'd never act in this town again, and then call her a "fucking suit."

Episode 4: What a fucking jerk Dave was. Oh well. At least this show seems to be picking up. I sensed that Carolyn had a abortion in the first episode so I was glad that I was right. Again Poor Katie. What was up with her throwing away all the tupperware? Glad to see Jamie take her fucked up ass to therapy.

I watched Episode 4 last night while up with the pain of the broken tooth. This show didn't help much to divert my attention from the pain.

Jamie: What a screwed up, totally unlikeable little hypocrite. Says she has never been monogamous in a relationship and has never been without a man since she was 14. Please make her go away.

David: There's a definite link between his little rant in the therapist's office and his ogling at the teenage girls in the ice cream shop. I need to see again to see what was up with the daughter in that scene. A pre-teen with hormones is a difficult read for anyone.

Kate: Her kids have lice? Given the cleanliness values of this show, it does not surprise me but it does contrast with their seemingly antispetic life. THe woman has little nits in her relationship with her husband that need to be washed out, as the therapist session indicated.

Carolyn: Carolyn at least tried to wash her hands after the pregnancy test. If this woman can't handle the stress of infertility (and I'm personally familiar with that), it makes me wonder if she can even handle being a parent. The abortion was not a surprise, almost predictable. Same with getting together with the old boyfriend.

Palek: I want to give this man a haircut. Looks like an extra from a movie from the Manson killings (he does have that Roman Polanski look) Interesting to see the lives of David and Palek intersect. Interesting to see Palek compartmentalizing his life so nicely. How's that working out for him, you think?

The worst thing is that I'll probably keep watching and I'll hate myself for it.

I've been finding that I cannot tolerate Carolyn at all. The abortion sure did shed some light for me, and the more we find out about her - such as the recent loss of her mother - may bring me closer to understanding her.

I agree that Jamie is a total hypocrite. No wonder she can't trust another man; she can't even trust herself.

Episode 4 is the best one so far, IMO.

Ep 4: Better, but still somewhat of a chore to watch...thank God for ffw On Demand!! Jamie is just so bad...remind me not to eat at that restaurant btw. I thought it was a good touch though having one of Hugo's students ask Jamie if she was his gf, happens all the time...one of the only things I think kids are intrigued about in their teachers is who is their gf/wife???

Dave and Katie are painful (in a good way) too watch in that their unhappiness rings true.

Carolyn attempting to wash her hands was hiliarious...they really played up (piled on) her bitchiness in this episode.
