Matt Roush from TV Guide weighs in on the show in his Ask Matt column. Full review available in next week's TV Guide.

Just in case anyone's missed it, here's HBO's official Tell Me You Love Me page.

ETA: Media mania! Gillian Flynn of EW reviews the show. At CNN, Frazier Moore offers a commentary. At Zap2it, you can read a review by Rick Porter and an interview with Mort and Alexander with a snippet by Walker from the TCA panel.

Entertainment Weekly's TV Watch seemed to like it more than most.

Robert Bianco of USA Today, James Poniewozik of TIME and Joanne Ostrow of The Denver Post weigh in. Bianco's review is decidedly the most negative I've seen from "the prominent critics".

And nice Emmy chatter for Ally Walker by Michael Slezak of Entertainment Weekly.

ETA: Reviews by Brian Lowry of Variety and Florangela Davila of Seattle Times and blog by Alan Sepinwall. Also, a brief interview with Kate Towne, who plays Mason.

(Hope it's ok to add a new post rather than editing my above post twice.) Ally Walker to bare all for her art. A nice little interview with Ally Walker. She discusses the show, her career and choices thereof.

A brief interview with Ally Walker by BuddyTV. She talks about the show, HBO's protectiveness of the cast and crew, Profiler and her guest stint on ER.

Hm, was I just living in a nice little bubble of my own when I kept thinking that most of the prominent critics had embraced the show? The only decidedly negative review I've encountered so far was Robert Bianco's ("please tell me this gets better"). I know critics have picked up on the show's bleak mood, but for me, that hasn't translated to "bad series" line of thinking. Have I been deluding myself?

Did anyone else catch the completely bizarre, over-the-top reaction of Elizabeth Hasselbeck and the new host Sherri something on The View? Now, I can understand being a bit startled by the frankness and the explicit sex in the show, but these chicks were aghast. They were talking about how inappropriate it was, and (gasp!) "What about the children." Whoopi (god bless her) pointed out that it is on a pay cable channel and that people with kids should not get to dictate what the rest of us get to see. She reminded the two hosts with young kids that it is their responsibility to control what their children watch. Elizabeth acted like it was straight porn and shouldn't be on any form of television. It was as if there was no dialogue or context at all.

I hadn't yet seen the show, so I braced mysfelf and watched it. What I found was a thoughtful, sometimes painfully honest, look at couples in various stages of coupledom. I was so disappointed that of four adult women on The View not one of them mentioned the incredible subject matter or the assemblage of actors.

I know critics have picked up on the show's bleak mood, but for me, that hasn't translated to "bad series" line of thinking. Have I been deluding myself?

No ainoarwen, you haven't.

Elizabeth Hasselback is a big time religious right winger. Sex is evil. That's her motto.

Karen Valby of EW's TV Watch also said that Joy Behar described the show as 'pornographic'. When was this discussion? I'm wondering if it's online somewhere, as I'd like to watch it. Anyway, thank goodness for Whoopi and her common sense.

Aforementioned Karen Valby's commentary of the second episode, and Ryan McGee of Zap2it.
