Preview for season 2 here and manic recap of season 1 here.
From article I linked to in the spoiler thread: The first-season DVD is being released Aug. 21, and the third Dexter book is being published Sept. 18.

Oh MCH...sigh....adorable even with blood on his face....
I first saw that as a tiny little thumbnail on the Showtime site, and I couldn't even tell that it was him.

Dexter creator grasps life's charades
By DAVID FISCHER, Associated Press Writer
Jeff Lindsay doesn't seem like the kind of guy whose mind could give birth to a serial killer.
The soft-spoken, middle-aged author lives in a southwest Florida community with his wife and three daughters. He has a backyard pool and a fishing boat tied up to his dock.
But when Lindsay came to the conclusion that "serial murder isn't always a bad thing," he created the character Dexter Morgan, a blood-spatter analyst for the Miami-Dade Police Department who hunts and kills criminals in his spare time.

Btw, anyone know if S2 will be 'real-time' on iTunes, so those of us without Showtime can watch it a day or two later? I'd hate to have to wait for the DVDs again.

Probably not since they're not doing it for Weeds, which is currently on the air. I think iTunes added Weeds Season 2 in like late April so that was a 8 month gap between the first episode of season 2 aired on Showtime and when it was added to iTunes. The best bet is to probably subscribe to Showtime or you may be able to obtain the episodes through other means which I won't get into. Lol. (The first two episodes have been leaked online though :) Just google leaked Dexter episodes).

He looks really young in that shot. It looks a bit odd. Maybe it's supposed to.
I think so. That pic looks like it could be on a box of farina. Seriously, check out all the 1950s era wholesome imagery next time you're in your supermarket grains aisle. Creepy kids galore.

American Snob mentioned the above... my follow up questions is: what was the gap between the airing of the last ep of Season 1 and the release of the DVD and the date that eps started showing up on iTunes

The blazing morning sun promises another triple-digit day, and inside Stage 16 at Sunset Gower Studios, things already have heated up. Michael C. Hall still hasn't broken a sweat, though, as he moves with steely quickness in a pivotal scene for Showtime's Dexter, in which he plays a blood analysis expert for Miami's finest who spends his off-hours offing bad guys.

They also have him covering walls of buildings with tons of tiny pics of Michael C. Hall. It's awesome.
I do, however, find the picture they chose a little weird. As others have said, MCH looks really young and so not...dark.
Here is a link to scans of the new TVGuide with Dexter in it.

Who is that between LaGuerta and Angel? Is that supposed to be Harry?

Julie Benz is so skinny. I think this is good casting because Dexter sees Rita as broken, and with Julie being so small and feminine, it comes across as submissive.

The more I look at that scan the more it seems like they merged Michael C. Hall's face with John Krasinski's (Jim from The Office). There's no way MCH looks like that (no matter how he contorts his face) without a good deal of photoshop.
