I had to start this thread for him, because he was one of my surprise favorites tonight. For someone who is far from disco, I thought he was wonderful (and his ass in those pants...). The criticism he got from douchebag Karaty was one of the most ridiculous I've ever seen on this show. "You're no Nick Lazarini!" I didn't realize he was trying to be, or that Nick wrote the book on disco dancing. Let's see more of those "wash that man right out of my hair."

This routine coming early in the show and Karaty being so hostile means they may be in the bottom three duos. I hope not.

Oh, WORD!

I mean, Dan needs to shut the heck up.

I agree, he and Sabra will probably be in the Bottom 3. If they are, they better be safe. Too bad I can't vote. Oh, Canada...

I loved him tonight. I hate Mia and Dan for not loving him. I hoped to love him because he and I share our hometown, and this sealed it for me. I will vote as much as possible for them, but I'm pretty sure they'll still end up in the bottom (just because they haven't gotten very much airtime as a pair and the routine wasn't a huge hit with the judges). If that's the case, I hope the judges have enough sense to keep both Dominic and Sabra, because they both have great personalities from what I've seen and I'd love to see what more they can do.

And yeah, that butt...those pants...yum!

When I saw Dominic in the Vegas rounds I was really irritated how he kept getting through by dancing on his head. I did get to see his disco dance with Sabra, and I will admit I was totally wrong about Dominic. He was remarkable for someone with so little training and so little time to learn a demanding disco routine.

I love D-Trix! He's definitely not too cocky to completely commit to a ridiculous disco routine, so I hope Mia took note of that, at least.

Although I'm worried about what might happen if he's in the bottom - I've been going over and over the possible bootees from the male side and his name keeps popping up in my head. I'd hate to see him go.

It just worries me that he only has 5 posts in his thread. Come on people! Go back and rewatch THE PANTS!

He's humble too. He posted this bulletin on myspace last night (at 1:24 am) [ignore the spelling errors]:

Subject WORDS CANT DESCRIBE...
Body: How blessed and thankful i am to have family, friends, and fans that support sabre and I the way everyone has tonight...thank you all who have watched...and voted....weather it was for me or anyone else on that show!!!..thank you you all for the support....and sorry again if some of your guy's bills r sky rocket...just kidding!!!..have a Gorgeous night everyone and thank you again!!

that guy with the small pants...

"that guy with the small pants". Adorable. Though it's still early, I really, really enjoy him and his partnership with Sabra. He absolutely committed. It reminds me of S1 Ryan in his first performance doing latin, a b-boy just completely selling a whole different genre.

I like him. I think he's going to be fun to watch in the future....even if he does look like John Leguizamo (sp) 's stunt double. The resemblance is freakish. I hope he gets to stick around!

After seeing so little of what he can do other than the head-spinning, I wasn't confident about his chances, but he was good last night. I'm impressed that he was able to pick up so much in a short time. The lifts generally annoy me in Dorianna's choreography, but seeing Dominic handle them so well made me happy.

I think what saved his ass is that he was there for his partner during the thankless disco: he danced WITH her and was able to do lifts he'd just learned. He showed enormous potential. I'm glad he's staying.

I'm so glad he (and the lovely Sabra) made it.

He's got potential, and though his DoD has only focused on his specialty at this point, by staying in the competition, he has the chance to learn new dance skills.

I hope he can continue to show progress not only in his weekly main performances, but I'd like to see if he can incorporate what he learns in his future DoDs (though, I certainly hope he won't be doing anymore of those in the near future).

I love how he wants this. You can see it in his eyes. Here's hoping he gets all he can from this competition. He certainly seems to have the right attitude - with his partner, toward the judges, everything. It's very endearing. I want to root for him.

Even though I don't understand the dancing upside down very well, I figure it's my limitation, not his. I'll keep an open mind to see how he does standing up. Go for it, Dominic!

I was impressed that he pulled a "Blake" ( removing shirt whilst spinning) in his DoD. He's really adorable; I didn't expect to like him quite so much but he and Cedric want this so badly and are so earnest and committed to the challenges that they get a lot of goodwill from me. He got stuck with a dumb choreography and he made the bets of it. He should not have been B3 to begin with. I hope he takes this second chance and continues to kick ass. He and Sabra could be golden for weeks.

I'm not sure if he will be golden, I just hope he can get a great routine next week and show his worth. Sabra hasn't faced any backlash, people say she deserves a better partner (even though he did a great job with Sabra and most of the other guys probably would have struggled), or people say he "robbed" Ricky. Or Dan said that he should somehow do better, as if he choreographed or chose that flat disco crap. He was stuck with an impossible routine and is now stuck with the backlash because he did not go instead of Ricky. He may also split a vote with Hok and Cedric, and he gets the backlash for "doing tricks" which the other two don't get, even though they do the same types of tricks.

I liked his solo. The DoD has never been a time for grand experimentation. I'm sure if he has another DoD he will try something different.

Of the three male bboys/breakers/hip-hoppers he seems to be the one who has faced the most backlash, even though he has great chemistry with his partner, a good personality, and did a good job with an impossible routine. I just don't know what is supposed to be good enough. I hope next week he can impress people.

Frankly- I get tired of the backlash that bboys/breakers and hip-hoppers get as a general rule. I think that their specialty dancing is just as legit as say- a contemporary dancer doing contemp in their dance of death, even if they did not get "training."

I thought that on the performance show the three male street dancers and the female street dancer all did a good job even if sometimes their partners did not (looking at you Farina). I thought they were all stronger than Neil and frankly Ricky as partners.

I don't see why any of the three male street dancers should have backlash- I don't think it is deserved. But sadly- there will be. But you would not see it if a shaky lyrical dancer caused a better street dancer to go home. There does seem to be a snobbery about bboy/break and hip hop dancing as disciplines in their own right in comparison to other genres.

I feel like there's snobbery from the lyrical/contemporary devotees towards everything else. But that's just me being my oversensitive partner dancer self. . . ;-)

Uh oh! I sense a feud developing on the boards...it's almost like West Side Story except instead of the Sharks and Jets, it's the...Contemps and Streets...I don't know, better names are needed! ("When you're a Street, you're a Street all the way")

On topic, I'm liking D-Trix more and more. I really don't think his "personality" is an act. I think he's genuinely happy to be a part of the competition and he's trying to show that as much as possible.

In some cases I believe a hip-hop/bboy/breaker does deserve criticism for not growing (Musa, for one), but I think in this case it is a knee-jerk reaction against him being a bboy. I didn't see any more tricks in what he did than I saw in Ricky's solo. A trick is what a dancer does within his own comfort zone. That's what DoD is about.

Dominic was blessed with a good partner, but he had an uphill battle with everything else. Disco, bad disco choreography, being panned for choreography he couldn't control. I just hope this hasn't permanently marked him, because I think he is capable of surprising many people. I can see him killing some contemporary.

I really don't think his "personality" is an act.

Definitely not an act. For all Mia's comment on his cockiness, he was stunned when he wasn't aufed this time. He seems like a genuine and very sweet, funny guy. I think he's the total package. If he's given time I think he could have the real underdog story this season.

If he was shy about being shirtless because his mother was out in the audience (someone said this in the episode thread), that's sweet, but he has nothing to be embarrassed about.

At least the audience had a good response to his DoD. Maybe this will raise his votes.

I am so glad Dominic stayed instead of Ricky. I think Dominic partners really well, and completely threw himself into that disco routine. I would just like to see something different in his solos. I feel like whenever he has been shown he has been doing the spinning around on his head/neck/whatever it is thing. Of course, this may just be the editing of things in the pre-top twenty round - they edited out so much of a lot of people's routines... I'm sure he must have done something else in Vegas aside from that twenty second spinning on his head thing.

For what it's worth I am also a fan of contemporary/lyrical/modern and I get sick of repetition in there, also. For example, I am already completely over Jamie and her HMV move/trick. I feel as though everytime we have seen her she has done that! She's really going to have to do something different to get me interested in her again... But that's an issue for the Jamie thread!

I think his personality is kind of an act because he was really cute until the moment Nigel came to his defense against Dan (when Dan said that he's a bad partner) and then when Nigel asked him how long he had partnered with someone, he made me barf when he acted all innocent and cute and was like 'so we started on Friday...' to Sabra.
I don't think he's a bad guy, just irritating to the extreme.

Also covering up your nipples after taking off your shirt is kind of gross. It's not funny, it's another 'I'm such a cute small boy' act which is really questionable when you're also being gangster on stage in your dance. I guess I just don't like how he's trying to cover all his bases in personality and he's definitely full of himself. I mean, when Mia says you're cocky, you're probably that since we know she's full of herself.

Also the fact that he looks like John Leguizamo does not help matters. He's going to be so boring whenever he dances for his life. You can only spin on your head to music and take your shirt off so many times.

Wasn't he apologising to his mom in the audience for the t-shirt move (which looked pretty effortless for such a difficult move)? He gets a bye for the clowning from me. I hope he does watch footage from S1 of Ryan and even Jamile on how to keep spicing up a DoD. I thought his strategy for this first time was to keep intensifying and building on the same power move, and I was cool with that. I'd like to see his uprock and other power moves next time. Although I am hoping he stays out of the B3 for a couple of weeks, at least.
