Jay London, the caveman-like overall wearing one-liner spitting comedian from Season 2, happens to be one of my favorite contestants ever in the show. I admit my sense of humor is off center just a pinch, but I loved that he just rambled out the jokes. My biggest issue was him overplaying the schtick of the audience hating him, but the "Thank You"'s ever every good laugh always brought me back in. His jokes were surprisingly intelligent (mostly), given his overall image, and I could always laugh during his routines.
If they ever make a Captain Caveman movie, Jay London's their star. Replace his coat with a club and the resemblance is uncanny.
Plus, you have to love him for the sheer fact that he kept Ant from coming back on Season 2 by winning the wild card round.

Want to know what joke I can't wait to hear again? "I'm third from the left on the evolutionary chart." Man, that never got old, no matter how any times he did it!!

Jay London was my fave too...
The jokes that have stuck with me since Season 2 are:
"I got a job at an information booth...no questions asked."
"I worked at Bed, Bath & Beyond in the Beyond Department. People would ask me questions, and I would respond It's Beyond Me"
"I'm third from the left on the evolutionary chart"
and, my all-time favorite joke ever told on this show....
"Hey...did you know it was a year ago today?" (Jay, of course, uttered this line with the perfect timing and vocal inflection; making you think that it was the beginning of a sentence instead of the entire sentence. He told this joke twice during the competition, and both times I cracked up watching the joke slowly dawn on the audience. Heeee!)
ETA: Jay London loves correct spelling! I think I'll go stand over here now. Thank You.

I'm sorry...he's a nice guy, but I can't stand the routine. Once...just once...when he drops a zen bomb, acts like he fucked up, and says "This is death," I just want somebody to scream, "Then die already!!!!!!" Of course, if somebody did that in LCS, they would've stopped taping and threw the guy out.

I'm with you Lantern. I found his act so repetitive and annoying. He seemed very much like a gimmick act. I know comedians redo the same jokes for different audiences; they have to. But when his jokes are so closely related to his look and his "persona" you know that is his act- and will be his act- always.

I too am one of the people that loved Jay.
One of the ones that still stick with me is: "I saw a sign that says 'No Outlet' so I began to scream."
What I don't like is when he repeats the joke when no one laughs at it, like the above one. I would, however, have liked it if he did it while facing that one person in the audience he always tells "It's almost over. (he probably did at some point, I haven't watched him since his episodes aired)

I feel as though Jay London would either always have the best caption for a New Yorker cartoon or have a joke that was so visual that it could be successfully translated into its own cartoon. Another favorite of mine besides the ones already mentioned is: "I once saw a stationary store move."

Jay London is to Stephen Wright as The Monkees are to the Beatles. That pretty much sums up how I feel about him.
