Plus, well, this could be spoilery, if he's not sticking around.
What is the status of Senater McCallister's brother? I know they cast him with Eric Winter, but for how long? He's in a pilot, correct? Do we have anything concrete? Or is it just another storyline that's up in the air?

Eric is signed for only two episodes this season. From there on, it is up in the air.

That just makes me wonder what the plans are for the senator's gay brother, which they made of point in creating. Surely, they didn't create the character specifically to tell a two-episode arc or story.

I'm fairly disappointed with this, as the current storyline concerning Kevin's love life is boring and uninspired. And as it seems that they resolved whatever Kevin had with Scott, I don't see them going back to that storyline anytime soon, either.
On the one had, I don't want Kevin to be completely identified by his love life or have all his storylines deal with his love life, but it seems that we're 2 for 2 this season, and the third one doesn't look promising.

But truly, this 3rd major love interest has a 2 ep arc, and not the full 5 ep for the remainder of the season....even if they don't have to use him as a love interest, but he can be with his brother doing other things. This is what puzzles me, and the fact that he was cast knowing that he had a pilot for CBS (and B&S is his backburner in case the pilot doesn't get picked up).
We only have a month and a half before we'll know for sure if Eric stays on for season 2 or not. But knowing how cheap CBS is and the fact that Eric is in a Hugh Jackman's production made TV pilot, I don't see Eric coming back to B&S.

Sounds like, aside from not being afraid to show off Kevin's sexuality and his family's acceptance of it, they should start over with his love life next season. No one they've introduced is someone I'd like to see coming back again and again.
And both of his loves have pilots? That's crazy. I wonder if "Chad" doesn't have a pilot, if he's the one who'd keep coming back. God, I hope not. What a moral and self-esteem deflater.

So, 2nd season, Kevin may start off with love interest #4...but we'll see.

I personally would love to see Scotty back in Kevin's life down the road.
Me too.
I wonder if "Chad" doesn't have a pilot, if he's the one who'd keep coming back. God, I hope not.
I don't think that is at all likely. Once Kevin and Chad are over, they will be really over.

And Kevin's heart will be broken... (<<< is that too much of a spoiler?)Once Kevin and Chad are over, they will be really over.

I am sure someone will tell us if it is. The thread is labled spoiler, so we shouldn't have to mess with the spoiler tags.

I don't see, however, Kong Chang, how predicting that Kevin's heart will be broken if he and Chad break up is a spoiler. I mean, if he's not upset after breaking up with this guy, that'd be a spoiler as it's unexpected. But I'd think he'd be upset after breaking up with the guy, because that's how most people feel when they're dumped.
I created this thread because I know some mods prefer their Spoiler Threads to simply be about reporting the spoilers and nothing more. This spec thread is the place to go to discuss them.

The reason I asked is because the mentioning of how Kevin feels is actually located within the sides. So I am not sure if that would be considered a spoiler, in terms that, Kevin will get dumped by Chad (rather than Kevin dumping Chad).I don't see, however, Kong Chang, how predicting that Kevin's heart will be broken if he and Chad break up is a spoiler.

So, Chad does dump Kevin? Is that official? I was speculating it, based on how Kevin willfully went back to him when he was given a shiney play pretty (the watch) and the way Chad's jerking him about. I speculate that Kevin will help/force Chad out of the closet, Chad's life will improve and will realize he can now date guys of his caliber, instead of guys so desperate to sleep with someone as good looking as Chad that they would be willing to go back into the closet to do so.
Ugh. First Scotty acting as if Kevin wasn't gay enough or comfortable with his own sexuality, and then Chad forcing Kevin back into the closet. What a crapshot on the lovelife front, no?

The creators gave Kevin two opposing views of gay life, and the 3rd love interest, we kinda guessed/speculated would be halfway between Scotty & Chad. But now that's not looking pretty either. What a crapshot on the lovelife front, no?
So, I'm looking forward to #4 and saying goodbye to #3.
Seems like it from the sides. The other thing we don't know for sure is that when Kevin meets Chad at Chad's place, Chad's not happy to see Kevin, and there's something else and then the sides got cut off for that scene (so the rest is new to us).So, Chad does dump Kevin? Is that official?

I agree with you about Chad. It's a frustrating story arc.
To be fair to Scotty, Kevin did admit that Scotty was right about everything he said (near the end of "Date Night". Kevin and Scotty both have "homework" they need to do.

God, I hope that spec about him being his "Mr. Big" eventually turns out to not come to fruitition.

Hopefully, Scotty's homework is learning not to feel superior to others because they don't live up to a standard he applies without even getting to know them first.
That was exactly what he said his "homework" was...but I don't think it was ever a case of his feeling superior. It's an episode worth watching again. The exchanges are important.

Please, Berlanti/Baitz, if you expect Scotty to be Kevin's one true love, don't go all SATC on us, I beg of you.

Let's hope they're reading this new board and not the old one. LoL. :PPlease, Berlanti/Baitz, if you expect Scotty to be Kevin's one true love, don't go all SATC on us, I beg of you.
But I do like your analogy, Jeaux35. I also think and wish and hope that Scotty will be the final one that Kevin ends up with after both have matured enough to love and care for each other. (I'm a sap for melodrama).

Normally, this type of storyline would be thrown to the Kitty-character so I'm please to see that the gay character gets to have that destined love of a lifetime relationship.
And this is coming from someone who didn't care about Carrie or Mr. Big, yet still understoo that they had to be together in the end.

I love the idea that Kevin and Scotty will just keep getting thrown together by life.
Normally, this type of storyline would be thrown to the Kitty-character so I'm please to see that the gay character gets to have that destined love of a lifetime relationship.
A lot depends on if Luke's new series is successful...and whether or not he wants to continue to play Scotty. Those are two things we don't know. The other variable is whether Robbie's vision for Kevin matches Greg's vision.
I personally hope that it all works out...but doesn't take "three martian years - because [their] years are longer than ours" to transpire.

Is Patricia Wettig off Prison Break? Isn't she multi-tasking with both shows.
As far as I know, Patricia is no longer on "Prison Break". I read an interview with Ken where he spoke about having to get her out of "Prison Break" before she could appear in B&S.
Some contracts allow actors to guest appearances on other shows, other do not.
