I think she'll go far but I'm wondering about the versatility of her hair.

You mean you don't want to see another Nadia Turner mohawk? I like her; she's like Lisa Tucker without the robot chip.

Diana DeGarmo + Lisa Tucker = Jordin.

Hopefully she gradually improves like Diana instead of quickly deteriorating like Lisa.

I think Jordin is the first legitimate shot at a teenager winning this show. She has more base talent coming into the competition than Diana (whom I LOVED) and as the poster above said, if she gets better each week rather than collapsing a la Trias or Tucker she could quite possibly pull it off.

She's good. She reminds me of a teenage Kimberley Locke. Her challenge will be to avoid being boring or too Disney Channel-esque. Though that might not be a bad thing considering the success of Disney Channel singers, I suspect Simon wouldn't be crazy about it.

She's really good, but will she be memorable, or fade like Lisa Tucker? I like her.

A) a HAM (Hot Ass Mess)
B) The winner of American Idol 6

This girl can sing and, unlike Lisa Tucker at this stage of the competition, she's flying under the radar right now. That's a good thing since, many times this competition becomes a popularity contest based on very little other than the first few 30 second sound bytes of the audition episodes. I try to give these contestants the benefit of the doubt and wait until they sing a few times before I determine who I really like. Simon has it right when he looks away and just listens. It should be all about the voice...sadly, it isn't always. Anyway...the girl has some pipes and the control and range to go along with it.

I liked Lisa Tucker . She was my favorite of Season 5 . Jordin is a potential favorite for me as well. I Am looking foward to seeing the finalists all perform next week.

Did somebody check her birth certificate? Because she looks 27 and not 17. She's got a really good voice though. I just need to see some personality to go with it.

She seems like a good one. I also hope she proceeds in the vein of La Locke. So far a fave.

Really good voice but people seem to tire of these perky teenagers eventually. She needs a hook. Maybe she can sing in a Giants uniform.

America Ferrera.

YES!

She has a likeability to her that doesn't come across as pageanty, though. She can sing great, she's young and very pretty. A certain K.Lo mixed with some Lisa Tucker.

This competition looks to be about the three ethnic women. Lakisha, Melinda, and Jordin. Should be interesting.

I really like her. Why she lists 'Christina Timberlake' as her favourite female artist on her Q&A is beyond me though.

Surely she meant Christina Aguilera, or is there a singer named Christina Timberlake who I don't know about?

She does come off as a robot at times, but I think she has a pretty good voice and as someone mentioned up thread, unlike Lisa T. she hasn't really been pimped as much, although you could apply that to most of the contestants thus far. Either way, she could go really far or leave really early.

Yeah, I kept staring at my monitor for a good thirty seconds when I saw 'Christina Timberlake'. I don't think it is Jordin though. That's kind of hilarious, unless there does EXIST a Christina Timberlake who I haven't heard of.

I'm not so sure about Jordin. Especially after the judges told her about her not so impressive performances in Hollywood. I predict a Lisa Tucker-ish placement too, unless she can surprise a lot of people.

I think she's quite good, but not outstanding. I do think she's a Real Girl rather than a bot, but maybe this is a year or two too soon for her.

I think Jordin will be TOP 10 because of Randy's prediction about loving a curly-haired contestant. She has that "X-Factor" that Simon so often talks about. Personally, I think she's really good!

She reminds me of a bigger haired Diana DeGarmo, and that.bugs. I have nothing but HATE for this girl at this moment. Blech. She'll most likely make it to the top 4 or so with my luck.

I think she is a much better singer than Diana DeGarmo. She has a very nice, rich tone to her voice with layers of texture and depth. And she has amazing control for an untrained 17 year old. We have seen very little of her compared to Gina Glocksen or Antonella Barba. I think, for whatever reason, the producers/editors have given her a much lower profile edit than either DeGarmo or Lisa Tucker, which I think will ultimately be to her advantage.

Her chair edit was rather confusing. Randy is shown saying she was one of the brighter spots in the Seattle auditions but that she didn't have a great Hollywood week and "fell apart" a little bit. They then cut to her singing Grand Funk Railroad's "Some Kind Of Wonderful" really, really really well! Confusing? Yes. Manipulative? Possibly.

Her "elevator reaction" was very refreshing! If I were 17 and had just made it through on American Idol, that's exactly how I would have reacted! Not jaded, not expecting it, but downright so joyful that I couldn't contain myself. Nice!

That's what I thought about Paris too.

I think she'll make the top 12. Although she won't make it far.

Priceless!

I really like Jordin's voice. Although I hated Lisa Tucker, she does put me in the mind of Lisa but with an emotional chip. Also think her vocals are far superior to Lisa's. YMMV

Too soon to tell, she may be in trouble due to her age. If she comes off as mature, Simon and Co. may try to push her back into the adolescant box claiming she's just playing grown up and needs to have fun (bcuz that's what they so loved about her - sigh as they did with Paris/Mikahla). If she acts her age to a childish extent, she may remind viewers of the horrors of the over-the-top cheelerder - DiBot and alienate the voters who don't pine for that Disneyesque style/performance.

Is there an arena for a singer that doesn't quite fit the sex kitten popstar/diva role but who's too mature or not cheesy enough to be Disney?

JoJo would be a really good example as she's only 16 but does a good job of balancing her age with maturity.

I wasn't that thrilled with her voice but I loved the song she chose and she nailed the song. I don't know what the hell Randy was talking about when he put down her song selection.

I agree with Randy. I actually think she has a great voice, but she doesn't have the 'tude to pull off that song.

Am I the only one who really really liked her? There's something interesting about her voice and I like the "America Ferrara" look she has going on. In fact, I thought overall she was the best of the night. She did something kind of different and pulled it off nicely.
