...Or so we've been told.

It just occurred to me that we are two weeks into this thing, and there is no thread for Jeremy Sisto or the character he plays. Consider that wrong righted.

So am I the only that thinks that the never found girl referred to in last night's ep is Knapp's kid? A Knapp-ette, if you will?

I don't know, Dana Girl. I think it might explain why Knapp left the FBI in the first place. Something went terribly wrong (obviously, since the girl is still missing and presumed dead) and it pushed Knapp over the edge enough to seek out medical intervention, thus the reason why he does what he does now.

At least that's how I hope it plays out. For some reason, I just can't see Knapp being a daddy. Don't get me wrong, it would all kinds of yummy, but I don't see it going that direction.

Thanks, Mr.Sobell - I was wanting to start one, but didn't want to overstep the bounds.

While my Sisto love, which knows few bounds, may be coloring my opinion, I'm really enjoying the character. He's got some twists, and I'm looking forward to his backstory, but he's not all broody and angry. He has humor ("looking for someone? is he handsome?"), and intelligence, to go with the dark side and the past. Can't wait for more layers of the onion to be peeled.

I think he showed a couple good moments of personality or humanity, if you will, in Ep 2. Especially when Kellogg called, and when he plopped down on the couch, Turner said "Morning" and he said, "Yeah, stick to the facts. It's morning." It's like she's the one person he can be himself around.

I like how they are managing to work in little moments of his personality--esp. the bit in the kitchen with Alice when she went towards Jimbo and forgot her cereal spoon and Knapp immediately noticed and handed it to her as she was walking.
He seems very watchful, like he's always taking everything in but trying to stay in the background and out of notice. But I also like how he has a hint of instability--hitting the FBI agent, not knowing how to reassure Ellie, etc.
I like the odd mix of his need to protect, his need to control, and his lack of social graces. He's a very interesting character and I'm looking forward to finding out more about why he is the way he is.

("looking for someone? is he handsome?")

That line delivery and the little smile was fantastic. It made me go all giggly fangirl for a moment, and while I was watching it live, was sooo very glad I was recording it too. Thank you, DVR.

with Alice when she went towards Jimbo and forgot her cereal spoon and Knapp immediately noticed and handed it to her as she was walking.

I loved that little moment. It shows that he's watchful, but also how comfortable Alice has already become with him and his crew being in the house. I mean, she's clearly an outgoing girl, one who rolls with the punches quite well, but it was a nice moment nonetheless.

I also loved the look on his face when he caught Atkins taking pics of him. "Who are ya looking for? Anyone I know? Is he handsome?" And that smile!

When he was strong-arming that Sunnyside gang member and then said "If you're lying I'm gonna have to come back and finish telling my joke." Then he slaps him on the face! I love that.

I'm also curious to discover the details surrounding the kidnapping that led to Knapp leaving the force and having to seek treatment at a psychiatric facility. The Poindexter in Prison mentioned something about her "do you think she'd be taking her braces off" which makes me wonder if she was disabled.

And it appears that Knapp was the rookie right out of the academy who shot the guy holding a gun at Latimer King's temple, way back when.

Didn't think of it that way, as I went the other direction with that comment: she had braces on her teeth when she was taken.

I was really happy with how they revealed that. Neither King nor Knapp mentioned it was the other, but we the audience (and Atkins) know. Excellent with the not beating us over the heads with it, TPTB!

Has anyone thought of what Knapp's first name is? I always find it strange when characters in shows are referred to strictly by their last name. Does that happen often in real life? I don't refer to any of my friends that way. Is it a macho guy thing?

The NBC Kidnapped site shows a personality type indicator profile of Knapp and lists his first initial only "L" and his personality type as "Reasoning Director" (my guess is it's based on the Myers-Briggs INTP profile)

I don't know about the rest of the world, but a lot of people (well, men anyway) get called only by their last name around here. I haven't heard anything about Knapp's first name.

I'd be curious to know how his normal personality works out with what's happened to him, as in the deal with Kellogg and whatever else baggage he has. He looked clearly mortified when Kellogg called.

it's so great to see Sisto again! This show kicks ass and I can't believe nbc is just giving up.

Hbo should grab it! If NBC won't do their part in keeping it, it should go to HBO or some place where they don't care about ratings numbers so much.

Is it wrong that I found Knapp incredibly hot while he was beating the crap out of the two idiots who were friends of Aubrey's? Yowza.

And I'm now intrigued by the relationship between Knapp and "Don't Call Me Larry" the prison inmate. Larry kidnapped his own sister and Knapp wasn't able to find her? I loved that Knapp didn't seem to have the upper hand and really couldn't meet his eyes a lot. Interesting.

If that's wrong, then I don't want to be right.

As I understand it, Larry's the reason he went to the looney farm for a while, right? Only makes sense he can still pull his strings, I guess.

I find Jeremy Sisto incredibly hot no matter what he's doing...can you tie a bow tie!

I'm terribly sad this show was cancelled. I like Jeremy Sisto alot and I hope he gets more work. I did think they should get him out of those grubby clothes and hide the donuts. Though the shlub bit sort fit his character, it just hid the actor's attractiveness. Kidnapped was so much better than Vanished, which inexplicably, is still polluting the airwaves.

I saw him in New York in April while he was appearing in Feston and he looked amazing and quite trim! I love the scruff! He is truly a sweet guy and he gives good hugs!

btw, yesterday was his 32nd birthday.

Great, I don't even know you, petitchanteuse, and I'm jealous of you! ;-)

I like the scruff and the little tummy he's got going right now, he looks much more adult and manly to me than ever before. He was much more pretty boyish when he was skinnier and I don't really go for that, so now he's just yummy to me.

Yeah. I've seen some pics taken several years ago and he was way too skinny even though it gave his jawline a more chiseled look. Clean-shaven or hirsute - I prefer the way he looks now. He has a very long torso so he tends to wear his shirts loose and layered because he can't keep 'em tucked in his low slung pants! I do like his sense of style - jeans, t-shirt, jacket and Chuck Taylors - very low maintenance.

He's got that crooked smile and a crooked little finger.

anywaaaaay ... back to the topic of Knapp.

I hope we discover more of his personal backstory aside from the connection to the FBI, like was/is he married? Divorced? Widowed? Kids? Family? His relationship with Turner is genial but I think it's strictly professional. I don't think he has the same problem with women as, say, Dexter** does. But I get the sense that we won't have any love interest thang happening in Knapp's storyline.

(**Dexter is the new Showtime series with Michael C Hall from Six Feet Under ... I can't imbed a link to the site because, being from Canada, I'm NOT ALLOWED!)

I bet if the show went further, they'd get into his personal life, and maybe even put in a love interest, which would be interesting, given the dangerous nature of his job.

I was thinking the only way someone would want to do his job, which probably has a 50/50 chance of survival, would be if you feel like you have nothing to lose. Something to do with Kellogg?
