Arrested Development Elimination Game

Those of you who hang out on The Office, Gilmore Girls, Farscape, O.C. threads or others may have seen this game. As a survival game addict, I find this one insanely fun, albeit addictive! I expect this game will be challenging right from the outset, since so many people love so many of these episodes and will find it hard to pick the ones they love slightly less to vote against them. It should also be interesting to see if the results mirror those of the other episode survival games. I'm shamelessly stealing the below rules from Karoline, with adjustments to account for the slightly larger number of Arrested Development episodes:

Rules:
Vote for your FOUR least favorite episodes.
After several hours have passed and at least 5 people have voted, the round will end. (They'll be an average of two rounds every 24 hours)
I'll tally up the votes, and the THREE episodes with the most will be eliminated (with tiebreaker rounds as needed). We'll then begin a new round.
This will carry on until we've eliminated about half the episodes, at which point you'll cast votes against the three eps you most want eliminated and two will go up to episode heaven at the end of every round. Once we get down to the final 'lucky 10', only one will be eliminated at a time.
I'll post a list of all episodes here and edit to debold eliminated episodes to make it easy to keep track of what's been eliminated. Since obviously no episodes have been eliminated yet, as of now they're all in bold:

Ready, Aim, Marry Me ---The one AD episode that I truly dislike
The Sword of Destiny ---I may be the only one voting against this episode this round, but I just thought it was really over-the-top and just just didn't work for me at all
Justice is Blind---As with most AD eps, it has its great moments, but I really dislike the Maggie Lizer storyline

Cress, I get the sense that no one's interested in playing! If you like the game, it's being played on a bunch of other forums: The Office, Gilmore Girls, Farscape, Supernatural and I think The O.C.

Marlaas: I don't think there is as much traffic on these threads as the other threads you mentioned, so you may have to allow more time for the rounds (this might take forever, though- so it's up to you what you want to do).

Good morning, everyone, and welcome to our Round 1 Results:

Prison Break-In (which for some odd reason I love despite the gross Tobias parts, but, than again, I have a weird attachment to S3!) was eliminated with three votes. The verdict is in on Justice is Blind, eliminated after receicing four votes. And the undisputed 'winner' (er...loser!) was Ready, Aim, Marry Me, which at least seven voters wanted to 'divorce.' (Don't worry, guys...I et weary of the bad episode puns as the game goes on!)

I'll debold the episodes so everyone knows they're now out of the running. Meanwhile, Round 2 is open and will end at about 5:30 this evening. My Votes:

We need a minimum of five votes to conclude a round and got exactly five. Hopefully in the future more people will discover the "fun and sexy time" that playing an AD Episode Elimination game can be ;) (And, before anyone gets too horrified at how strange I am, I'm just quoting my beloved George Michael with the 'fun and sexy time' line!)

Meat the Veals has been devoured, Out on a Limb has...er...broken and Switch Hitter has taken its final swing.

In a few rounds, we'll switch to voting for three and eliminating two. For now, though, Round 3 is open. Here are my votes:

Sad Sack (You know how most AD episodes get better with subsequent viewings? Well, this was the one episode in which the opposite was true for me: I liked it initially but think it's kind of gross and dumb when I've re-watched it)

It's so funny, because I generally agree with you on every AD thread, but Notapusy is easily one of my top three episodes of the entire series. The Church/State fair is IMO the best satire ever, there's a really sweet GM-Michael ending and the 'Startked Straight' thing is IMO one of the best and funniest storylines they ever gave to George. Just my opinion, obviously :)

Well, I can appreciate the satire, but I just don't feel that it was necessary to bring Ann back for the Church portion of it. Not only that, but the awkward "Annabelle" exchange at the beginning was one of the most tortured, long-winded jokes of all. Why did they have to make unfunny jokes even longer?

Whistler's Mother has whistled its last tune after receiving four votes, and Burning Love has, er, gone up in flames. However, FIVE episodes tied for third with two votes each, so we need to have a tiebreaker. Over the next couple of hours, please vote for the ONE of the following eps that you most want to see eliminated: Shock and Aww, For British Eyes Only, Altar Egos, Sad Sack and Sword of Destiny

My Vote: Sword of Destiny, which, despite my usually liking Ben Stiller and loving Gob's 'magic' storylines, was IMO really goofy and over-the-top and just disappointing.
