Anyone else annoyed that Trixie got that close, distracted Hearst, and still couldn't get a better shot at him? (Well, yes, history letting him live and all, but still...)

My stomach is so tied up in knots... how are we supposed to make it a week until this all plays out?

Speaking of cocksuckers, I think HBO has alot of nerve to promote a "Season" Finale when thanks to their short-sighted ineptitude, it will be the Series Finale.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ellsworth, you will be missed and thought of fondly.

What is the deal with Johnny in the previews? I am already mourning Ellsworth (I actually got choked up), and now it seems that Johnny is somehow in jeopardy...

This one had me in tears... literally.

What was the deal with Tolliver being all upset with his people? I must have missed something.

It was about time that Eustis Bailey Farnum quit sitting on his testicles- or grew a pair. God Bless Trixie... Even if she DID mess up by not killing Hearst... But I dont understand her exposing herself to him at his door.

So much has happened this episode, and I swear it was only about 20 minutes long.

I would like to be the first to offer to rip off my shirt, hike up my skirt, and go to the HBO Offices and pull a Trixie on those fuckin' cocksuckers that obviously never watched the greatest show they've ever aired!

That being said, I could not believe how much I was laughing and crying and wondering how it could possibly be 9:40 when the show so obviously had only been on for 5 minutes.

GO AL!!!! He is BACK! I honestly jumped up and cheered when Trixie flashed her wicked witch stockings, grabbed the gun and ripped open her shirt. Sophia was killing me. Al trying to process and accept gratitude from Alma. The Gem boys sitting so quiet and tense and then ripping on each other but quietly laughing and grinning. Jewel with the breakfast and the guys helping her up the stairs. WU!!!! WU!!!! Heng Dui infuckingdeed! Jane and the children. Doc.

RIP Elsworth, I never so much wished that Hearst would die because of his influence on American History, but tonight I really wished Milch had created a parallel universe and Trixie landed it right between his eyes, or Doc tried to give him gangrene.

I do not understand how in one of the far most intense episodes ever, I still laughed more than I have in ages. There were some insanely funny one liners tonight. Especially EB and Al "I'm a dead man..." "You won't be the only one". Adams to Merrick "You couldn't let him read his fuckin' paper, could ya". I am going to be crying long and hard next week.

How??? How???? Does HBO keep fuckin Entourage and Lucky Louie and lose this? Shit, bring Piven over to Deadwood, that would ROCK!!!

More, later, between boards down and the ep my head is exploding.

WUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!! Damn, I will pray to have my shirt in time for next week. Love Al telling the whores to play up to him and Wu actually telling Al off a bit.

If I ever run into Gerald McRaney on the street, i will tear him limb from limb and not be able to help myself. The man needs to go and make a weepy, sappy, feelgood movie immediately, because otherwise...

But I dont understand her exposing herself to him at his door.

My husband figured it was so he'd be looking at her breasts and crotch, instead of at either the gun or her face. Not that a whole bunch of people didn't see her walk in...

Awesome episode. I hope Hawkeye does come through, just for Adams' sake.

What stands out most to me were a couple little moments - the guys helping Jewel up the stairs, and "Wu big man!" Hee!

I'm shocked Bullock didn't go into a nose-grabbing frenzy upon his return.

Also, the camera work when everyone discovers Ellsworth's death was fucking awesome.

"Miss Caulfield", hm? Jewel Caulfield -- nice to know. And Al referring to her by her name for the first time. (Obviously Jewel is an adherent of the "throw food at them" school of hospitality.)

Guffaw!

Ellsworth's death didn't have much of an impact, because I was sure he wasn't really dead. After all, he said on the HBO board that he and Sophia have "a touching scene" next week. (Cocksucker didn't mention that he wouldn't have any fucking lines.)

So I'm figuring the wagon's hauling him to the doc, and Doc will fix him up (he was just grazed), and I'm thinking that Doc shouldn't leave Ellsworth alone with Hearst, cuz Hearst will put a pillow over his face. Then I'm thinking "Won't Alma be pleased when she finds out he's not dead" and "Won't Trixie be embarrassed when she finds out she shot Hearst for nothing".

Then Doc goes to the Gem. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

So now I'm really pissed, because it looks next week like Sol and Trixie are in crisis, and Alma and Seth might be rekindling, and don't we need a fuckin' fourth season to tell this story!!! We'll never meet Dan's girlfriend, Blazanov will never get laid, and Jen won't get her GED.

Fuck HBO.

Give it up for Keone Young! Wu!

I wish Jim Beaver had been given a more exciting exit from the series. He gave Ellsworth the gravity and sincerity he needed.

Is the series almost too nice now? We're seeing forces that have spent years at odds now banding together. I'm enjoying it, but I don't know whether to like myself for enjoying it.

Heartbreaking. I think for the first time in HBO history, last week's previews were actually pretty straightforward.

Trixie flashed Hearst to distract him, though it didn't do much good.

Why did Aunt Lou send a basket over to the Gem?

I didn't get Tolliver's thing either, I guess he's feeling mighty impotent lately, in more ways than one. He's just annoying and I wish someone would just kick him in the gut.

Why was Langrishe fiddling with his key in the hallway? He looked scared to get caught by Hearst.

RIP, Ellsworth. You were the nicest, sweetest man on the show, so it figures that you'd be the one to die.

I'm in love with Trixie. She could shoot me and I'd die happy.

Despite the fact of Ellsworth's death, there was something about this episode that didn't quite jell for me. Can't quite put my finger on it. I know more theatre bullshit didn't help.

First off...MOTHERFUCKIN' SARK!

In case you missed it, the Army dude that Bullock was bitching at in the window was played by David Anders, aka Mr. Sark, the awesomest villain ever until "Alias" defanged him.

Second...ELLSWORTH! But I think we all knew it was coming, didn't we? Especially when the dog was back. That whole scene I was bracing myself, waiting for the shot or the knife to come flashing in and finish him.

The tightly-controlled panic as he was wheeled into town was very well done. And Clench! With Alma! Oh, my shipperly little heart beats wildly. TO rocked that scene. And Alma was great, too.

I got a bit of a chuckle out of Langrishe offering himself up to be used as a weight to drop upon evildoers. Reminded me of a line I once read..."We're just cannon fodder. Slowing down evil by getting in the way."

I think Trixie may have bared all as she shot Hearst so he'd be looking at that instead of at her face, and therefore might not have been able to identify her. Or she wanted to really be a WHORE in that moment, and embrace that identity, so Heart would know that it's a "lowly" whore who's shooting him.

"Wu big man." Wu broke my heart just a little...okay, a lot...in that scene.

The look on Al's face as he sees Ellsworth being brought in, dead, was great. You could tell he was honestly upset, and therefore that he honestly liked Ellsworth and would never have wished him harm.

Now, my Hearst-hate burns brightly as anyone's, but I have to admit that his line about how he was not made to crush people like him kind of gave me a little moment of pity for him. A very little moment.

How can such a tragic episode be among the funniest eps of Deadwood ever?

Clench with Alma and squarehead? Even the Alma haters have to admit that would've been a nice family. Clench does need to cater his meetings, plus have Trixie as an interpreter for Sol. Speaking of which, sex always cuts down the tension of attempted murder.

The look Hearst gave Langrishe in the hallway almost scared the hell out of me! Gerald McRaney has done absolutely amazing work... amazing.

Another classic episode. EVERY single character stayed true to their nature, including the wonderful Doc Cochran. When did he get his degree in psychiatry?

CJ didn't want to leave Joanie and the kids alone? Awwwwwww.

R.I.P. Percy Ellsworth. I know there's a spot in TV Character heaven with your name on it. Who's going to watch the dog?

Charlie Utter not knowing what to do with himself? Hilarious. Staking out the first step? Priceless.

Jewel's journey to Alma and Sophia, Dan and Johnny holding her up, literally made me cry. I love all the little moments we've been getting in the past few episodes, and I love how a show so rooted in violence and pain can show how the ugliest of people are so achingly human.

This season has been chalk full of C-List hotness, first Gale Harold as Wyatt Earp and David Anders briefly rolling into town tonight. It's weird hearing him talk with a Southern version of his normal accent, so so nice to see him on TV again!

God Bless Trixie... Even if she DID mess up by not killing Hearst... But I dont understand her exposing herself to him at his door.

I'm guessing ripping open her shirt was her way of exorcising the "civilization" she'd adopted while living with Sol, and only when she reverted back to the woman she used to be, could she commit a crime outside the rules of respectability and decency. I'm not clear as to why she exposed herself to Hearst either other then to momentarily distract him.

As soon as I saw Ellsworth in the "tent" as Hearst had mentioned, I knew.

The look on Bullocks face after he began to hug to hug the widow Ellsworth--be still my heart. I hate it that they are not together.

So what exactly was Harry talking to Bullock about while waiting for the speeches to start? Did he refer to an incident at Bullocks home that morning where Martha fainted? (preggo?)

Tears for sweet, sweet Ellsworth. We are beholden to you.

Tears for all those Deadwood cocksuckers gathered in the Gem, whom I love so much and will miss.

And love to all of y'all. I raise a glass of whiskey w/my left hand and do "heng dai" with my right.

I thought that Tolliver thought that Hearst was dead, and was furious at himself for ending up on the wrong side.... Why is he still upright but sweet, sweet Ellsworth had to die???

Also, I'm a bit thick sometimes; what was Doc saying to Alma about Sophia? That her parents left her to die on the trail?

Word. Plus, they further added insult by saying by adding that critics agree the show is "Riveting", etc.

What an episode.
Clench going straight up to Alma and Sophia got to me. Big time.

Thanks for trying, Trixie, but next time, aim more to the right and lower.

Jewel to Richardson: AGH! Richardson don't scare me like that. You're too ugly to sneaking up on fucking people.

I'm gonna miss my show.

You gotta admire Trixie for having balls bigger than her tits.

"Wu. Big Man." Yes, indeed Mr. Wu you ARE a big man.

I just LOVE how they all rallied around. Charlie, Johnny, Dan, Jewell, Doc, Sol, Al, Bullock, Adams, the whores.

I didn't get what Cy was so mad at either??? Somebody enlighten me.

Doc . . . I want to marry you. I love you that much.

I can't believe they are cancelling this show. Cocksuckers are ripping my heart out.

I didn't really get Doc coming over to the Gem for the sole purpose of giving Alma an alternate story about Sophia that she probably didn't believe anyway and wouldn't make any difference if she did.

Hi, all you cocksuckers and titlickers, I've been idle snatch watchin Deadwood for the past month, via Netflix, having never seen it until then. It's like trying to run after a fucking freight train. Now I'm on the iron horse with the rest of you, hurtling to hell.

As soon as I saw Alma's face last week in the previews I knew right away there was a limited universe of people who were going to go last week, and poor Whitney was the first on my list. As soon as I heard the unspeakable Hearst utter the word "tent" I knew my lovely Ellsworth was doomed.

I was wondering when Wu and his 150 Chung Kuo cocksuckers with guns (band name!) where going to come back into play. His English has improved so much, too. Big Man!

Way to guarantee that nobody will be able to quite remember any detail about you besides your hair color, Trixie.

Now, what does a girl have to do to get a drink around here?! What? Oh, that.
