Tonight we apparently will be treated to two episodes. Woot! From Zap2It:

R&B artist Avant needs models for a release party and music video; a model's stage mother makes negative remarks about the agency.

I knew it wouldn't be long before Janice got into it with the showgirl mom.

No posting here until 11:00 p.m. EST, please. Thanks!

I knew the first episode would be good when Janice stumbled at the very first meeting with Mr. Black. And then later the full on fall. Ahh, the old "jetlag" excuse.

At least the girls were the "classy" girls in the video as opposed to rumpshakers, though their snippets were so fleeting. And why was he in a high rise condo in the rain, while there in a sunny spot by the pool? I guess I am too dense to understand the mutli-layered and complex undertones of music videos. Heh.

Fargo's a little snitch, I love it.

Boo! No men. (other than those freaks in yet another open call)

I think Gabe delivered the line that should be the tagline for the entire JDMA series to date, namely, "I think some people's dreams really deserve to be crushed". So fitting.

Chicken cutlets? Dead rabbits? It's all about animal association with you, isn't it Janice? On that note, it's the return of the leopard print! And me without a drink in my hand, dammit.

In other news, Janice steals photographer Mathu from Tyra and some sort of Albino woman shows up at the open call And obligatory trip to Universal Studios AND fashion shoot in San Juan AND mammogram AND Frederick's. It's amazing how so much and yet so little can be happening on this show at the exact same time.

The line of the week: "I'm not a guy! I'm a fucking lady!" And she accused Peter of wanting to bone Fargo.
Then later she falls off her chair.
I was ready for a real fight with Brittany's show girl/not a stage mother. Disappointment set in.

So, is Avant really a big name in R&B, an up and comer, or just another poser? I realize that models are expected to do things I wouldn't be caught dead doing, but he and Mr. Black were kind of freaking me out the way they were talking about the girls. It was just icky.

I guess I am too dense to understand the mutli-layered and complex undertones of music videos. Heh.

Yeah, me too, Rustyspigot. It's just too complicated for me.
A messy hour, for sure, but still... she fell off her chair. What the hell more could I ask for?

Wow, Sarah is not all that bright. Bush is the vice president- well, actually, she's sort of right.

Kodi looked so embarassed at the hip-hop audition. I was pretty embarassed for the models too. Yeah, sex sells, but, crawling on the table like a stripper is just a little much.

While I agree that Janice's models aren't of the caliber that many of the top designers are looking for, she has had quite a bit of time to transform them into those kind of models. What about Michelle who has worked professionally previously and who had to put up with Tyra's shenanigans? What about Claudia who is hot, sexy and curvaceous? Oh, right, she wasn't born a woman, so I guess Frederick's doesn't want her in their catalog.

Loved Janice falling off the chair!

On to the second episode...
Hmm, that might answer some of my questions- it sounded like several of the models have bailed- maybe Michelle and Claudia had had enough.

Brittany looked amazing at that photo shoot with Mathu. She's one of those people who doesn't look like a model in person though. Editorial shots are probably her niche.
Why would her mom think that Janice wants to drop her? She's the only model with French Vogue potential.

Gabe is hilarious. 'Nuff said.

Hey everyone!

Ok, so here's my reaction to this episode! From one of the model's perspectives:

Well, I found this episode hilarious because first we're "high fashion models", then we're rock n' roll runway models (not to be confused with trash), then we're wearing wigs for a comedic film, and finally, we're "high fashion models" crawling on tables in an R&B video....LOL

I was told that this was a hip hop video audition and because of this, and because our casting calls could be so random, I figured they were probably going to make us dance. After all, in pretty much all hip hop videos I've seen, the scantily clad women are actually dancing. Now the funny thing about this audition is that the first question Kevin asked me was something like, "so what kind of music do you like-who's your favorite R&B artist?" Of course, I was a little confused because I had been told to dress hip hop but just I said my favorite R&B artist was Toni Braxton (with a nervous smile on my face because I really don't like R&B). Then, the music comes on and it is totally NOT hip hop (unless I'm just stupid and hip hop's rythm has slowed way down and is sung with a breathy voice). I had actually never heard of Avant nor did I like his music one bit (I kind of thought of his music as a bad version of Usher or Babyface). Of course, I'm also not the type that finds music about going down on women, etc. etc. etc. to have very deep or impressive lyrics-lol ;-)

So now the nation has seen me do my white girl dance...hmm...not sure about that one but I'm damn proud of my white girl dance-lol! Thank God I wasn't asked to crawl on a table. The funny thing is, no suprise, dance had absolutely nothing to do with the job as was evidenced by the models just chit chatting by a pool. I was a little bummed out because I was kind of hoping that we would have the chance to maybe learn a little bit of hip hop choreography that we would then have to audition with for the video.

The photographer in this episode is PHENOMENAL! He is such a sweetheart too! I was actually supposed to get the opportunity to shoot with him as well (as was Nyabel & Grayce) but the plan fell through because I think he had to go back to New York and the timing got messed up. I was so bummed out-I admit I was looking forward to shooting with him more than any other opportunity I'd had up to that point. Mathu's photos of those ladies were wonderful! However, I agree with Janice that Stina's eyes were dead. Girl's got a unique look but she was missing that spark. Crystal's photos were by far my favorite-she has a very classy, elegant look.

I have one little thing to point out and some of you may have noticed. Just checking-did anyone else notice that for the photo shoot Brittany's hair was dyed bright red but then in her meeting with Janice after Fargo spilled the beans, her hair was back to brown? Hmm....

Gabe cracked me up during this episode. Gabe's actually really a sweet guy and I got a total kick out of his reactions to people. The guy's brutally honest but really, he tried to do everything he could for us models. He and Duke were wonderful to work with!

And now for the finale!

The 'chicken cutlets' are what a lot of people call breast augmenters. They go inside a bra over the actual breast and look a lot like a chicken cutlet. With a nipple. Kinda sorta similar to a breast prosthesis for women who have lost a breast to cancer. You can see them here: silicone breast forms.

Oh dear - they have a perky nipple version! I'm happy I hadn't taken a sip of my drink when I saw that.

Janice is so AbFab's Patsy.

I couldn't help noticing how Janice first lectured one of the models about how she should walk in shoes (presumably stillettos) all the time, to get used to them, then went and blamed The Fall on her heels being too high.

LOVED Gabe's comments during the model search.

Maybe it occurred to Stage Mom that the JDMA just might be only a reality TV show, instead of a real modeling agency?

I agree... There were definitely some curvaceous models that I personally thought would fit the bill! It appears as though Peter may have shown them only a few of the models.

I have to admit, before these episodes, I was kind of ready to bail on Janice, because the show was boring me, but last night was awesome! Chair falling! Open call dissing! Model ratting! Excellent. I really want Brittany and her stupid stage-whore mother to go away, though. Kid might be a good model, but they both drive me insane. Maybe they would be tolerable if Janice and Suzi (blech) got into a hair pulling match, though.

How hilarious was the promo for the finale? "You're not okay. In fact, you're freaking out." Not until last night, but now so, so true.

Anyone know why they crammed these two shows on the same night? Is JDMA getting the UPN Chaotic treatment?

Welcome, Mimi2006! It's always great to get an insider's perspective. Any inside dirt that you can share would be most welcome (especially if it's about Janice being batshit crazy, which is how we love her best).

The WTF? factor of including Janice's mammogram made me see the light--she should produce a whole series of health-related public service announcements. "Bitches, today I'm going to the eye doctor for my annual exam. I think it's crucial for a woman of my age and prominence to make sure her vision is good enough to still pick out the diamonds from the diarrhea at my open calls. Peter Pork sees only with his dead rabbit, so I have to be the eyes of reason, even when I've gashed my cornea."

Poor Nathan. In a lot of ways he really is just a big kid, getting annoyed because all he wanted was to go on the Jurassic Park ride and all the passers by were enthralled with his mom. And who can blame them? She's Janice Fuckin' Dickinson, bitch!

Also:

Janice: "I'm not a guy, I'm a fucking lady, and if you ever respond to me like that again, I'll kick you right in your ass"
Peter: "...."
Janice: "I'm a lady"
Peter: "Then treat me like one"
Janice: "You ARE a lady!"

Hee.

I heart Janice so much. I loved her going on about being a fucking lady. Awesome. I think she totally wanted to choke a bitch when it came to ShowGirlMom. But, I was kind of pleased with her restraint. It was good that she recognized that she needed Brittany and didn't let her anger issues come into play. But I did love her telling SGM to keep her mouth shut. I guess that's as close as we'll ever get to seeing her get her smack on.

Is it just me or is there some unresolved sexual tension between PeterPork and JaniceD? Just me? OK.

In other news, I found the way the rap video guys talked about the models really disturbing. I especially thought it was odd that the one model kept saying how down to earth Avant was AFTER he just finished dissing the previous models for being ugly. It just seemed like she was too star struck to realize what an ass he was.

I think Stina is amazingly beautiful. It was weird that Janice said there was nothing in her eyes, but then told the other model that her blank look was what made her photos so good.

ETA: I had to mute the TV during the Denise Richards Look a like's audition. I was just too embarrassed for her she seemed so clueless about Hip Hop but had already said she liked it so she couldn't go back. Janice egging her on was still pretty awesome though.

ETA2: One more thing. The ugly girl that said she would blow out her birthday candles and wish to be a model was at the open casting call. So, was that footage in the second episode actually from this casting call or did the girl come to more than one? Also, that girl looks so much like Niki from the Virgin Superstore episode that it wasn't even funny. They could be sisters.

Mathu Andersen here
I have watched these posts with trepidation much like i did with the ANTM ones when I was working on the show
I swore I wouldnt do any more TV after Top model but I buckled and did this one for love
That is, I did it for my now ex partner Gabrial (aka gabe)
So much for love
I didnt watch this show and in fact i have only caught a few episodes
of the series because honestly I found it boring........all filler no thriller
It is strange to see yourself edited into a story line and even more so with the style of editing used by the JDMA crew . It is like interdimensional editing where time and space are of no importance
I hope yall like the pics I did with the girls I would have done more of them but budgets and time were limited (so sorry Chrisanne...thanks for the props)
I was sad that Michelle didnt get much air. I am a big Michelle supporter and she was amazing to shoot.
As for brittany and her. Brittany is solid gold in spite of her height and Suzie since the show has become the most amazing and supportive friend to me
She flew me to Vegas to nurse an aching heart and we did more pics of Brit to get her up to speed for Paris where she has attracted a lot of interest from really great agencies
I think she might be a star........she turned down Cirque de Soleil Zoomanity to pursue modelling
she is one driven 16 year old . She has finished all her schooling to free herself up to follow her dream........whats not to love.
As for the reason you all are gathered here today
What can I say about Janice
Janice is Chaos incarnate, an extremist, her own worst enemy and her own biggest supporter
I have taken her pictures and lavished them with time and love to make her the prettiest Monster in human guise possible. She has been good to me and supportive in many ways
and also bought sadness and disharmony into my life.
This is the paradox of Janice. She is a great friend in homepahtic amounts
prolonged exposure can have cause pretty serious side effects
I think I may have signed a confidentiality agreement some where along the way
so for the moment that will do
perhaps if coaxed i will post some more..........perhaps

Hi Mathu,

It is wonderful to hear from you and I'm so glad that you posted. I also fully agree with your perspective on Janice and I find her such an amazing contradiction in so many ways. God gave me a huge heart for Janice right off the bat but I also knew what I was getting into in confronting all aspects of her personality.

It was a pleasure to meet you and I find you to not only be a true artist, but an absolutely beautiful person as well. I don't know if you remember but I had a great conversation with you one day outside of the agency as we were waiting for an audition. You gave me some very good advice that day and I thank you so much for your honesty. Out of everyone involved, I trusted your opinion, advice, etc. regarding the modeling industry over everyone else's.

Your spirit is beautiful and you truly care about everyone that you meet. Thank you for taking the time and energy to invest in us models, especially knowing that you did not necessarily want to get involved with another show, and I hope that any wounding from your past relationship is healing.

In regard to confidentiality agreements, etc. I have been holding back A LOT because I have already been threatened. Although I'm sure there's a lot of threatening going on.... and maybe no real action, just be careful. I wish I could be brutally honest with my opinions and what I share but there's a lot of money in tv if you know what I mean.

I wish you the very best and I hope that someday I may have the opportunity to work with you or just chat with you again.

Blessings to you! :-) :-)

Hmmm. From a mammogram PSA to a a rap shoot to Universal Studios to infinity and beyond! This show actually is...a live action version of Drawn Together! They should throw in a music number! Trevor7, the pics were beautiful. As for Janice's "I was abused therefore I get to abuse every fucking human being I meet!" attitude: At that meeting, I'd have snapped her neck.

I hated how after Peter slapped the table, Janet reacted by physically pushing and shoving him and then commented about her father and how she responds to men abusive to women. Well, I guess she responds by being physically abusive to them, even when their abuse consists of slapping a table. Here's hoping the kids have never made her that angry!

I see the hypocrisy continues to make in appearance in her being late again when there's a client involved and in having her French Vogue elegant supermodels crawl across the table to get an R&B video job.

It's kind of disappointing because I always knew she was crazy, but I thought she knew her shit. This show really is making me think that she doesn't doesn't have a handle on the industry.

And did anyone else notice that the Interscope guy sounds like Wolfman Jack (I know I'm dating my 30-something self) at times?

I got distracted by the second episode last night and just got around to finish my post.

I love, love, love, love Janice. But Janice is NOT a nice person. Nor should she be.

Janice knows modeling based on what we saw her do. I would like to know what magazine she was shooting for though! Her body was AMAZING.

Mathu used to date Gabe? Wow. I heart Gabe but it doesn't sound like Gabe is a nice person either.

Who here wants a Gabe/Duke spinoff?

Janice appears to spend more time with Gabe/Duke than Savvy. Although it was nice she hugged her when she was afraid of the rollercoaster.

I loved the Janice/Peter confrontation. It was like straight off an episode of Cheaters! Peter so totally wants to fuck Fargo its not even funny. I think that's part of the reason she gets constantly booked.

Next week are the cuts. Sorin, John, TJ (the manny), Tony and Paul all have good shots of staying. If I were Marcus and Billy, I might worry.

I think Peter would rip out a lung before he lets Fargo go, Brit is save and so is Chrisanne. Nyabel, not so much. Claudia might be let go too.

Avant actually IS a good singer. The last two albums haven't been that great though.

And now for those burning questions:

Where is Maurice from Manhunt? he's on the Web page but we have only glimpsed him. And Michelle?
And more importantly? Will this show be back?

Speaking from experience there is one thing(professionally) that Janice excels at
and that is modelling..............when she is on and focused she is a wonder to behold in front of a still camera
