Okay, how come I couldn't stand the wedding planner for Liane and Danny's wedding? The name dropping at the beginning was nauseating! It just puts a bug in my bonnet - name dropping is a serious pet peeve of mine. Plenty of celebrities have had crap wardrobe, make-up, events, etc, so a name doesn't necessarily make you competent - it just means you've done work with/for one. The beginning just soured me to that planner, no matter what she did during the rest of the show.
I've said this on the Bridezilla's thread as well, but I just don't get the over-the-top white wedding for people who've been married before, who've already had a child/children with each other prior to the marriage, or who are 40 or older. And I think Liane was over 40, in spite of her attempts to look younger! She was good looking, but trying way to hard with the extra long jet black hair, boobs and tanning. OMG the tanning!! I wish these women realized the tanning bed worship makes them look older, instead of the desired effect they seek. It makes the neck/chest area and hands look practically geriatric. I'm not saying an older bride, people who've been married, or had kids together (or with someone else) before the wedding can't have a nice event, but I think the traditional "something old, something new..." and all the rest of it is a little silly and extra IMO. I just expect people with some "life experience" not to get so caught up in the event and spectacle that some weddings can be. ETA: I get that some people didn't get a fairy tale wedding the first time around, but refine the fairy tale a little to your present situation, is what I'm saying. Some of these weddings resemble the 12 days of Christmas with all the overkill.
One thing I can say is at least this couple had the event at their estate instead of some venue. But come on - we've seen this wedding over and over again on this show and countless others bridal shows, I might add. It's just more of the same - outdoor wedding/lighted tent reception. It's becoming kind of boring. Most of these weddings are doing something we've already seen (or something very close to it) before. And the planners kill me trying to sell these weddings as so "one-of-a-kind" and "like nothing never seen before". HA! I'd rather see a platinum non-traditional wedding with something unique and really original like burlesque dancers (belly dancers don't count), circus freaks or something that displayed the couples personality instead of these redundant canned weddings.
