"Pop That Ego!" Character Assassination and Redemption Game
Posted Jul 2, 2006 @ 11:25 PM
She wants to be more a friend to her daughter than a parent. She is more involved with her own dating life than she is with any part of her daughter’s life. Her parents should take Rory from her and raise her themselves.
Statement: Lucy Ricardo
Lucy was an illustration of the 50’s housewife. She was always dressed to please her husband. Dinner was ready when he returned home from work. She made his life as comfortable and stress free as possible. Though talented she gave up her career as a singer\dancer\actress to marry and raise a family. Ricky was the King and his wishes always came first.
Posted Jul 2, 2006 @ 11:37 PM
Lucy was nothing but a scene stealing fame whore who was only concerned about one-upping all those who surrounded her (Ricky, Fred and Ethel).
Statement: Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore Show)
Mary was an upstanding citizen who would go out of her way to help every one of her friends and co-workers, often sacrificing her own happiness or convenience. She was the original Queen of Nice.
Edited by Rube Goldberg, Jul 2, 2006 @ 11:37 PM.
Posted Jul 2, 2006 @ 11:57 PM
Mary was an annoying basket case who would cry at the drop of a pen. Her self-absorption prevented her from having a lasting intimate relationship. Mary was high maintenance and this motivated her friends to move away so as to break free of her hold.
Callisto was misunderstood. The decimation of Callisto’s village and murder of her parents by the sword of Xena set her on a mission to revenge her family and neighbors and to rid the world of the Warrior Princess. Callisto’s zeal for destroying Xena left her emaciated and friendless and yet her desire for justice was all the sustenance she needed.
Posted Jul 3, 2006 @ 2:53 AM
Callisto was a psychotic basketcase. Her actions taken in her quest for "justice" were far more horrendous than any commited by Xena, and her inability to take any kind of personal responsibility for said actions completely undermined any legitmacy her original grievance against Xena might have possessed. Her lack of friendship had far less to do with her zeal, and more to do with the fact she would turn on any ally the instant it was too her advantage to do so.
That she looked incredibly kickass while doing all this in no way justifies it.
A shallow ditz, she viewed human beings (and on occasion her fellow gods) as nothing more than playthings and remained oblivious to any negative consquences that they suffered as a result of her manipulations.
Posted Jul 3, 2006 @ 8:07 AM
She was pretty mighty.
Statement: Sandra Lee
Sandra Lee is a drunken tramp who has no culinary skills, yet must have magnificent oral skills to stay on the air. She has no business being anywhere near a kitchen, much less TEACHING people how to cook.
Posted Jul 3, 2006 @ 3:10 PM
Sandra Lee's show does provide great entertainment value to lots of TWOPpers -- there are dozens of them!
Statement: Bob Ross
Bob Ross was an amazing painter with the ability to make a few simple brushstrokes look totally like trees! And mountains! And a happy sky! And he had the most soothing voice on TV.
Posted Jul 3, 2006 @ 3:44 PM
Bob Ross focused on landscapes and lacked range in his instructional programming.
Statement: Gia Goodman
Gia is an optimistic and energetic young woman who offers pastries of gratitude, innovative insight on sexually transmitted diseases, and a winning metabolic rate.
Posted Jul 3, 2006 @ 4:25 PM
Gia can't shut up for two seconds. She didn't listen when Veronica tried to warn her about Lucky. She also rewarded Veronica with cupcakes for saving her life, when a new car would have been much more appropriate.
Statement: Stewie Griffin
Stewie is ambitious and shows good leadership skills. Though his plans rarely succeed, he doesn't give up. And he can appreciate a good pancake.
Posted Jul 3, 2006 @ 5:07 PM
He is constantly trying to kill the most normal and well-intentioned member of his family, his mother.
Statement: Michael Scott
Michael is a well-intentioned man, despite lacking social awareness, who just really wants everyone to be his friends.
Posted Jul 3, 2006 @ 8:47 PM
Michael is a horrible boss, constantly subject to the whims of his own insecurity, sexism, racism, and general cluelessness.
Statement: James T. Kirk
Captain Kirk combined intelligence, intuition, and bravery to be the best starship captain the United Federation of Planets has ever had, and he did it all with style.
(Unleash the Trekkies!)
Posted Jul 3, 2006 @ 9:25 PM
I'd type something mean, but I'm afraid she'll beat me up.
Posted Jul 3, 2006 @ 11:00 PM
Ilyria was a confused ancient demon-god who was forced into an unfamiliar world and infected Fred with no more malice than a viral phage.
Statement: Toby Ziegler
Toby was a good citizen who only leaked confidential information for the public good.
Posted Jul 4, 2006 @ 12:44 AM
Toby was a prickly mumbly man whose inner, bitter darkness spelled the breakup of the one marriage we know about. He also had the rather unendearing habit of speaking truth to Jed in a way that personally upset PoTUS.
Satement: William T Riker
Will was a first officer with a healthy dislike of standard procedure who committed carrer suicide by staying on the same ship for seven years. The fact that he bagged nearly 1 woman per planet visited did not endear him to his Imzadi.
Posted Jul 4, 2006 @ 2:48 AM
You would be hard-pressed to find a First Officer more devoted to his crew and captain. Plus he's earned the trust and respect of Jean-Luc Picard.
Statement: Peggy Hill
Peggy Hill is utterly self-absorbed, hypocritical, and egomaniacal. Her behavior at times borders on psychotic and she's not nearly as smart as she thinks she is.
Edited by Nflux Forever, Jul 4, 2006 @ 12:42 PM.
Posted Jul 4, 2006 @ 10:57 AM
Peggy obviously loves her husband and son very much, even though her attempts to show that love often don't work out that well. She's also very devoted to teaching Spanish, despite her clear lack of ability to speak the language.
Backup is a loyal sidekick who always protects his masters. If I had to take a dog along on a stakeout, I'd take him.
Posted Jul 4, 2006 @ 11:33 AM
Backup was an unreliable pet whose frequent disappearances went unnoticed by his masters. In fact, they didn't even realize he switched places with a friend so he could see the country.
Statement: Bernard Black (Black Books)
Bernard was an ill-tempered misanthrope who insulted the few customers who patronized his shop and mistreated the two people willing to spend time with hiim. His only talent was draining bottles of wine and keeping Pall Mall in the black (no pun intended).
Posted Jul 6, 2006 @ 5:12 AM
If I had half the balls Bernard does in chewing out customers who interrupt my "work" (surfing the net), I'd be a much happier person. Rock on, Bernie!
Statement: Dominar Rygel XVI
A fair and unprejudiced leader to his people, who unfairly lost his throne to a misanthropist. His arrogence and stuborness are justifiable to his anger and fear for his empire.
Posted Jul 6, 2006 @ 8:02 AM
Arrogant, classist and annoying, he gives muppets a bad name.
Statement: Dick Casablancas
Carefree surferboy who is refreshingly unperturbed by his wealth or the responsibility it might bring. Always willing to lighten anyone's existence, he cares passionately about the sexual development of his younger brother and the psychological well-being of his best friend. His witty remarks endear him to classmates and teachers alike.
Posted Jul 6, 2006 @ 9:42 AM
He played an integral part in creating the Eeevil! Beaver through the chronic emotional abuse of his little brother and is about thrice as dumb as box of rocks. Rocks which are especially, fantastically stupid. Also: Who's Sally?
Statement: Georgia Lass
A whiny, pouty little shrike who breathes insubordination. Malnourished and off-colour -her shitty demeanor having coloured her face. can simply not express any emotion ever ever when speaking she always uses a monotone for everything she says without any exceptions absolutely nothing stands ouuuuuuuttttttttttt...
You get that it's George from Dead Like Me right? Just checkin. This probably sucks as well 'cause I love her and the show alike
Edited by Huntley, Jul 6, 2006 @ 9:42 AM.
Posted Jul 8, 2006 @ 5:57 PM
Georgia was faced with an unthinkable situation. Dead, unable to be with her family and forced to navigate a confusing and unsupported job assignment, she was 18 trying to figure out her (un)dead life.
Statement: Lee "Apollo" Adama
He really is just a pretty face.
Posted Jul 8, 2006 @ 7:36 PM
Is more than a pretty face. He's also a pretty hot face.
Statement: Mary Cherry
Posted Jul 8, 2006 @ 10:52 PM
Is Batshit Crazy.
Statement: Charlie Pace
Is irredeemable. He lied about the Mary statues on numerous ocassions, kidnapped and endangered Claire's baby and assaulted a woman just so he could possibly make Locke like an idiot
(btw) Both Charlie and Mary Cherry are two of my favorite characters
Posted Jul 9, 2006 @ 12:07 PM
Charlie genuinely cares for Claire and Aaron, and he will do anything he needs to to protect them. Also, anything he does can be blamed on drug withdrawal.
Statement: Pam Beesley
Pam is a caring, genuine person who aspires to be more than just a receptionist. She does her job to the best of her ability but doesn't mind having fun, too. Also, she was really nice to Michael at the Dundies.
Posted Jul 9, 2006 @ 4:16 PM
Pam is a haggard cow who underneath all the sweetness and wryness is actually a hypocrite.
Statement: Dean Winchester
Sam is prettier than he will ever be.
Posted Jul 9, 2006 @ 4:37 PM
...and Dean got all the brains, common sense, charisma and sex appeal. Looks, schmooks.
Statement: Melinda Warren
What's a zoo?! WHAT'S A ZOO?!! You're from the 16th century, not another planet, you ditzy twit!
Posted Jul 9, 2006 @ 6:24 PM
She started the Halliwell line. That's a good thing right? In the greater scheme of things? They saved the world? Sometimes?
Statement: John Dorian
In the past five years he has geometrically lost more and more of his charm, sweetness and relatability and become a steadily bigger, and increasingly ireedemable, ass.
Posted Jul 9, 2006 @ 7:08 PM
He gives beginner irredeemable asses something to shoot for.
Statement: Ridge Forrester
Is a man's man. Every woman's dream man. Any woman would be lucky to have him. And he's got awesome hair.
Posted Jul 9, 2006 @ 7:54 PM
Is a pussyhead. Every woman's suicide fantasy. Any woman would want to kill him. And his hair makes Taylor's current lips desirable.
Statement: Ling Woo
Is possibly one of the most awesome people on Earth. Anybody who can tell Ally off, kiss every single male in that firm, and not look like a total whore deserves a plaque.
Posted Jul 9, 2006 @ 10:10 PM
...didn't she also kiss Ally? So, even Ling has errors in judgment sometimes. One might even say she's not really a character so much as yet another embodiment of some aspect of David E. Kelley's bizarre fantasies that God-knows-why some netowrk execs let him put on TV.
Statement: Charlotte York MacDougal Rosenblatt* (SATC)
Charlotte is a caring person and a good friend who gave that selfish Carrie her diamond ring, for cripes sake. She is a true romantic who just wanted to find real love. And she's beautiful.
*On second thought, this might be Goldenblatt. It's something-blatt, anyway.

Is a whiny, desperate individual who cannot survive without a man or a bunch of seriously shallow women to hang out with.
Statement: Spawn from 24. Really known as Kimberly Bauer.
Is a very intelligent individual who deserved that job at CTU.
