This is interesting because there was an casting call for BB during tonights Survivor. It's scheduled for May 7th at a Pittsburgh casino.
Edited to add that Janelle is going to be there.

July 12th? That seems like a very late start. Janelle was one of my all time favorites. However, I hope they don't bring back any previous HGs.

There's 2 new promos out now. This one is pretty generic with clips from last season. This one says this season will be supersized with "the most houseguests ever and 4 huge surprises."

Oh god, I can't wait to see what four lame - er, I mean, huge - "surprises" they have in store for us this summer. And I can't wait to see how quickly all four of them crash and burn.

Most houseguests? More than the 16 from Big Brother 9? How are they going to fit that in the schedule? Are they going to play in pairs again?
Hopefully with the Glass House being on air, they will finally change the house and update to HD.

I remember someone asking the producers if they will broadcast in HD, and the producers said given the time constraints of the show (generally 48hour turnaround), that is currently impossible for the to broadcast in HD, as HD episodes need considerably longer processing time.

Yesterday was Media Day. Matt Whitfield from Yahoo! tweeted this:

Today was ... Out. Of. Control. I'm gagged 'til 7/2. Sorry, my friends.

The cast and theme is scheduled to be revealed on July 2nd.

I have no idea if he's full of shit about this, but Dick Donato tweeted that there will be no smoking allowed in Big Brother this summer.

Well, it's Dick, so he is most certainly full of shit. But, that could still be true. Although it would make little sense, IMO.

Is that house supposed to be based on some sort of fun and games theme? That's the only common element I could discern from those photos, unless they were aiming for some sort of retro '70s feel.

That living room carpet is atrocious. Also, has the living room always right next to the front door? I thought it used to be on the other side of the kitchen and dining room area. Maybe they rearranged or reconstructed the house to mix it up for the viewers and feed watchers. As bad as the house looks, it still might be the most interesting thing about this season given the dullards they have cast the past few seasons.

What in the hell is Rachel doing back in the house? Did some media outlet hire her to prattle her thoughts about this season? If only her screeching was as fake as her boobs or personality.

Based on those photos, it looks like Rachel was stuck in there by some photoshop. It also looks like those media leaked photos have the HGs doing rehearsals and practicing for the show. They will be in there for over ten days before the show starts, so they will have much time to start the game and develop alliances and drama.

The pictures were taken on media day, those were reporters not the houseguest.

The cast will supposedly be doing interviewes tomorrow and will be revealed on July 5th.

Also, has the living room always right next to the front door?

Yes, it has. They usually have something there to sort of make a definition between the door and the living room though, so it does look kinda different.

The theme of the house is "Tokyo Pop", I guess I can kind of see what they were going for now, but this is still one of the more bizarre themes they've done.

Wonderful, I'm going to go blind by August. Just horrible. Good to know those were reporters, I almost had a heart attack when Rachel popped up in one of those pictures. So - 14 HG's? Is that a lot? (That's how many screens the wall of Keys had).

There have been 14 a few times. Season 9 had 16 so, if they're not misleading with the 'most houseguests ever' claim, they'll have to be at least 17.

The cast photos and videos will be released on Thursday.

Anybody else heard something about mentors?

According to some who claim to have some insider info, there is supposed to be four house guests from past seasons returning to be mentors for the newbies. The speculation is all over the place but there is supposed to be 16 newbies split into teams of four and each team will be lead by a mentor. Also, the mentors won't actually be competing but if one of their proteges wins the game, they win some money as well.

These are all just rumors and speculation at this point so who knows...

Oh, and names included on the list of possible returnees include Janelle, Mike Boogie, BB8 Daniele, BB3 Danielle, Rachel and BB10 Dan.

If the mentors concept is really happening, the only people on that list I would like to see back would be BB3 Danielle and BB10 Dan. They both played the game from a strategic angle and although they realized drama could help their situation, it wasn't their main focus. I loved Janelle so so so much in her season, but after All-Stars I realized that I'd prefer to keep my memory of Janelle purely from BB6.

This whole mentor nonsense truly would be the worst idea in BB history. Having a few former houseguests would not only take away from the excitement of the game and the new players, but it would completely undermine everything. It would basically be like four people playing the game instead of the usual 14. How do these producers ever expect to find new people if they're going to keep throwing old cast members in the mix to overshadow everyone? It makes no sense.

That said, I don't think this is happening, since almost every cast member rumored to be returning as a mentor is scheduled to make appearances on various random online Big Brother sites to discuss the game/players and such. So hopefully this is just all speculation. I'd rather just see ALL new people. Teams are fine, as you know they'll break shortly into the game anyway and ultimately have no influence on anything, like all their dumb twists. All I'm hoping for is a diverse cast with little to no floaters.

Yeah, I'm calling it right now: this mentors thing is basically a way to get the vets to the jury round. At that point, they'll be allowed to start playing the game.

How in the hell can I already hate these people a week before the show begins? It looks like it is going to be another summer of suck which of course I won't be able to ignore. Please, oh please, let Willie last as long in the house as long as Dick did last year.

Really, Grodner?

Between the most awful stereotype of a gay man cast on this show yet, one non-white person in the cast, and that troll Russell Hantz's brother, the casting people failed on all levels, as far as I'm concerned. I have never been able to resist watching Big Brother since the beginning, but if this is the cast you're going to put on TV, I'm freeing up my summer for something else.
