I am starting a Teency thread as I felt so bad for her. Of all of the children in the household, she seems to be in the most awkward spot and gets the least attention. Toddlers and teenagers demand attention by their very nature; schoolchildren not at a particularly demanding age physically or emotionally can tend to get lost in the shuffle.

How bad is it that her gesture of love for her mother has spelled disaster for the family and only Sarah seemed to comfort her or tak care of her when the entire ceremony went south. Will Sarah's ambivalence about the polygamy affect Teency as Sarah seems to be the only one comforting her?

I was stunned when Bill and then Ben abandoned the girls in shock in their seats and left the governor's mansion. In Ben it is forgivable because of his age; in Bill it is not. Bill could have and should have waited as his children filed out in front of him.

I can picture Teency crying in her room a lot as the consequences of their outing reverberate through the family. What if this really does affect Bill's business and the family's finances? Poor, poor Teency.

I feel bad for Teensy too. Chldren often feel responsible for situations that are not in any way their fault.....parents divorce, for instance. Here is a situation that she had a direct connection to and it's causing the adults around her to fall apart. All the poor thing wanted to do was show her mom how much she loved her (and even at that she was sensitive enough to worry about her "other moms" feelings) and it was the cayalyst to disaster. She's going to carrying the burden of guilt for a long time.

I really feel for this little girl. Teency's needs are shunted between wives, and she receives very little attention. She seems to take a blow in almost every episode. What should have been a fun experience at her school play turns to shame and embarrasment because the adults in her life couldn't manage to supply her with the right tights. It is she, alone, who bears the brunt of terror as she flicks the light on to reveal Alby, as a boogey-man, towering in the shadows of the back deck. And, her shining moment at Baptism is taken from her when Margene hops into the pool, and we see her standing aside in her sodden little dress.

While the adults in her life certainly love her, there is a lack of practical application, and she is feeling the effects of this. I agree that she will internalize the inevitable fallout from the MOTY ceremony.

You make a lot of good points Hollyberries. I fixated on the MOTY ceremony, but had been feeling bad for Teency for quite a while without being able to fully articulate it as you just have. It seems that having three mommies is adding up to less care rather than more, at least for Teency. I hadnt fully comprehended that Margene was really stealing Teency's thunder at her baptism - I was thinking about it in terms of Margene's commitment - which apparantly so was Margene.
It will be interesting to see how the writers cope with this and if we see the effects of the MOTY ceremony on Teency - that would be realistic to say the least and would add even more depth to this great show.

FYI: I changed the thread title to reflect Tancy's nickname, Teeny, since that's what she's most often called.

And for the the record -- I adore that kid.

We haven't seen much of Teeny this year, more's the pity. I'd like to see some interaction between her and Sarah. (I can imagine her matter-of-factly telling Sarah that of course Bill loves Nicki and Margene's kids more than he does Teeny and Sarah and Ben: "It's because they're little. But it's also the same reason he loves Ben better than you and me -- because they're boys." And Sarah's expression as she realizes she can't contradict it, because Bill does love his cute and undemanding smaller children better, and doesn't give a damn for his daughters.)

LMAO at the thread title.

I think Teeny and Wayne are the cutest of Henrickson bunch. I think it's the glasses. Her facial expersions in season 1 were waaay too cute.

It's too bad we haven't seen too much of her this season.

She is always so funny. Between rolling her eyes and asking what's wrong with creekers.

O Teeny so much.

Teeny has the least amount of lines on the show but the best ones. The first was when she asked Rhonda what was wrong with her after she told her she shouldn't play ball with her little brothers because she was a girl.

My favorite was at the family dinner table when she asked if they were rich right after Nikki insisted that Wayne go to a different private school. This bothers me because I think that Barb's kids will throw it up to her face that they went to public school and the other kids got to go to private school. I went to both but I know it could be a sore point with some.

I dunno, Sarah and Ben are almost done and from things I've read they didn't have alot of money when Ben and Sarah were little. Teeny doesn't seem like the kind to care.

Plus Ben and Sarah are old enough to realize that the reason Nikki's kids get special treatment is b/c Nikki is well Nikki. They know there mom enough that they can push her buttons so they must know her faults.

Teeny's in some kind of Gifted-and-Talented program, isn't she?

Yes she is. She is that's what I assumed her summer school program was about. But I don't think Teeny is one to make a fuss about those things. Make fun of them "Are we rich?" but not complain.

Poor Teeny! Last season she lost her waffle (in the pilot) and got scared to death by her Uncle Alby. Then in 2.12 she gets creeped out by her Grandfather Roman and loses her sandwich! Does she ever get to finish a meal?

I love Teenie. She handle's bizzare situations with such ease. "Umm, I'll be right back." Ha.

Even with the Alby situation. Sarah was the one who got scared.
