For those moments when you remember some random actor on some random TV show and wonder, "Hey, whatever happened to that guy?" or would like to contribute any such knowledge you have. (I'd like to thank Mr. Willie Aames for the inspiration to create this thread; I heard "Limbeck" on the radio yesterday and remembered his character, Buddy Limbeck, from Charles in Charge.)

And now my contribution for the day: Jaimee Foxworth (Judy on Family Matters) grew up to become a porn star. I heard Todd Alexander (Rob on Ghostwriter) did too, but have no confirmation. Anyone?

There is a thread called "Missing and Marginal Characters" a few lines down from this new thread....I think this should go there.

I'm not sure. This seems to be more about the actors rather than the characters they played.

Maybe... but this is about what happened to actors, not characters, so it may be allowable as a quite different discussion.

In case it's OK, I'll try to make my post non-meta, by remarking that I'm terrible at this. The month after I decide that somebody's career "never went anywhere," they get their big success. I was musing on the failed career of Farrah Fawcett a month before Charlie's Angels debuted; Don Johnson, just before Miami Vice; and so on.

That said, I wonder what some of the Hot New TV Faces of the early 1980s, like Shelley Smith, Pete Kowanko, Teri Copley, are doing now. I was going to add John Terlesky, but I see in the IMDB that he's still active -- just never on anything that I watch.

I've always wondered whatever happened to the cast of Night Court. All I remember is that the guy who played Bull was on an episode of Xena as a giant and that John Larroquette(sp?) had his own series.

One of them (the judge with the glasses?) went on to play Dave Barry in a sitcom that also featured David Puddy from Seinfeld (can't remember the actor's name).
And yes, it is really sad that I remember this.

I've always wondered what happened to the actors who were in the original Saved By The Bell "Miss Bliss" episodes...the ones who didn't go on to the Saved By The Bell that we know today.

ETA: B/c I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. :) Thanks for the imdb link, Josette, that answered my question. :)

She did, he didn't.
There are two Todd Alexanders.
And the porn one was actively working when the "Ghostwriter" one would have been 10 years old.

That was Harry Anderson, the main character from NC, that went on to Dave's World.

Also in porn star news, Austin St. John from the original Power Rangers cast is now doing gay porn.

Thanks for clearing that up. On that note, whatever DID happen to the "Ghostwriter" cast, other than Willie Hernandez (Hector) who went on to make an ass of himself on reality TV? The TWoP thread suggests they're all living private, normal lives.

Does anyone remember the dating game show "Bzzzzz?" and its host, Annie Wood (think mid '90s, people)? I thought she was gonna be the next Jenny McCarthy.

That's not him. I've seen that rumor before; it's been addressed on gossip sites. Plus, I've seen the guy that people claim is him and they look nothing alike.

Richard Moll (Bull) is still acting pretty frequently, but he's hard to recognize. Mostly because he has hair now.

I know he went on to voice Two-Face for many years on Batman: The Animated Series and its subsequent spin-offs.

He's dead, for some time now.

She had a career before "Charlie's Angels"?

Not that I really care all that much, but I wonder whatever happened to Lauren Tewes--Julie from "The Love Boat." She never did another series or anything that I'm aware of. I used to lurve that cheesey show, though. We called it "The Lust Barge." Also, what about Bernie Kopell, who played Doc? He was fairly big in the late '60's-early 70's, on a lot of sitcoms. He guested on "That Girl" and "F-Troop," and I loved him as Siegfried on "Get Smart." Still alive, even? I don't think he'd be all that old.

I remember seeing a show about the cast. She had a drug problem and that's why she left the show. I'm not sure how she's doing today. "Gopher" went into politics. Can't remember about the rest but I think they are still around.

Definitely. The biggest credit was as the ingenue in Myra Breckinridge; it got her a lot of attention at the time.

Speaking of Harry Anderson (from Night Court), I recently saw him as a beam-in guest on Real Time with Bill Maher. I guess he's living and working in New Orleans now, because he was speaking about the post-Katrina mess. He was quite funny (and a little profane) in the Bill Maher appearance. Oh, and he's gained a lot of weight -- which isn't surprising, but I remembered him as being skinny on NC.

Not long ago he was doing commercials for one of those life/health insurance companies that target seniors and he looked pretty old. Haven't seen him lately.

What ever happened to Clu Gulager?

His imdb says he is now a lawyer in New York. He liked the rumor that he was Marilyn Manson, though.

His name is Donovan Freberg, son of comedy (and advertising) genius Stan Freberg. Stan, of course, created the ads and did the off-stage voice.

Last night TCM was showing a really bad mid-1960's movie starring Mary Ann Mobley and Chad Everett and that got me wondering what both of them are up to.

Yikes. I googled him, I went to his blog, I saw him naked and discovered he's a porn addict. I was better off not knowing. I'll leave Eden now.

What ever happened to Clu Gulager?

I saw him on "Project Greenlight" last year, when his son directed a horror film. Clue still gets work as an actor and most of his family is in "the biz" as well. Clu's somewhat clueless son wanted to cast pretty much his entire family in the Greenlight movie ("Feast") but was blocked and only Clu and (I think) an in-law made it into the film. I read an interesting article about how the Gulagers are sort of gypsy/bohemian filmmakers with a very twisted, hard-edged sensibility. And Clu came off as kind of a cranky, overprotective nut on the TV show. According to bloody-disgusting.com, the release date for "Feast" is 2006-10-00. "00?" The hell?!

By the way, did you ever see Clu Gulager and Yvonne Goolagong with the Groovy Ghoulies in The Gulag Archipelago?[/MST3K reference]

Mobley (a former Miss America) does the occasional informercial with her husband, Gary Collins (who starred in the '70s series The Sixth Sense).

He owns a club in the French Quarter, called Oswald's Speakeasy and Sideshow, and a magic shop. Here's an article about it. It survived the hurricane, and he's gotten quite involved in the city's revitalization efforts.

And I saw the guy who played Max--who's name I forget, even though I'm watching the show even as I type--on "House" not too long ago.

Oh, and Mary Ann Mobley went to college with my parents. My father had a history class with her. My main memory of her is from their college year books and from "Barnaby Jones."
