Does visa issues mean he didn't even live in the US? Shouldn't that be the requirement to participate in America's Got Talent - that you live in America? I'm not saying you have to be a citizen, but at least you should be a full-time resident, otherwise participate in your own country's Got Talent.

That happened to a dancer on 'So You Think You Can Dance as well'.  A contestant they wanted had to drop out because they discovered that he didn't have a visa.

Same thing happened to Carly Smithson from "American Idol."  She auditioned for Season 5 of "American Idol" but was unable to compete due to visa problems.  She did end up competing a couple seasons later.

The problem is that they can be here on tourist visa or a student visa, for example, but not have a work permit.
