Ok what was up with the faux james bond music? It totally made me laugh when Chloe was corrupting the satelite.

So when do you think we learn what happens to Evelyn and Amy?

This one was definitely the slowest ep of this season. We got to see Audrey in some driving action, kind of cool. The James Bond music following her car is so groovy, Sean Callery must be having too much fun. And we get to see DoDad again! Yay!

My big question (sorry if this went over my head and I missed something huge): when the hell did Evelyn get to tape the convo between Logan and Henderson and how? That "evidence" pretty much implicates Logan's involvement with Henderson but the it's set in a weird time frame. I mean, I was expecting something a convo that is prior to Day 5's actions not during. It doesn't make sense to me that Evelyn knew about this and was about to tape it -- let alone Logan talking about the assasination during the day's events at all.

And that brings up another problem: assuming she taped the convo that's supposed to have taken place all in the same day (Logan commenting on Palmer's death after the fact "it had to be done"), how/when did she get it to the bank? I'm confused...help..

Damnit, where's Mike to sort all this out??

This new eeeevil Logan personality is interesting, but I really want to know his motives soon. Though I think he kicks all kinds of ass this season, I fear for the great Aaron. He may be the one that saves the day, but I hope it doesn't cost him too much..

My biggest laugh was hearing "the perimeter is secure" being said by the bad guys -- apparently the curse of the Perimeter isn't immune to anyone ha!

Other than that, the action was very much on the down-low which is my biggest love of this season -- so nothing really excited me tonight other than being confused just a tad. B-

Heller!

Also, the Bank Manager dying? He should not have asked Wayne about anything, not like it would've made a difference anyway.

DaD is back!!! How I’ve missed Devane!

What’s with the faux James Bond music starting while DHS-goons were following OOOudrey? I understand putting “spy” music in 24, but that seemed like a really weird place to have that music. It made more sense later in the episode after Jack started noticing Henderson’s men and Chloe was messing around with the satellite.

What's with Jack's awful planning? If they died in that shoot-out, that would have been the end of it. He should have called either Chloe or Audrey and had them record that recording on their cells just in case. Fuck, with the way he just pops things into his cell phone these days, I'm surprised he couldn't upload that file with the seemingly digital recorder. Either way, his plan was idiotic.

The hour of things repeating themselves:
•That ID photo of Jack in a suit and tie is getting a lot of mileage.
•Someone (Chloe) using the Server Room Terminals of Mischief.
•William! Devane! In! One! Hour!
•Jack pointing guns at other people's wives.
The only thing missing would have been Jack telling the bank manager "The only reason you're still conscious is because I don't want to carry you." I think he wanted to at least once.

On that note, Jack's penchant for accosting miscellaneous civilians at gunpoint continues. I was amused that Wayne was essentially right about it being better to just tell the bank manager, especially since Wayne [i/]was[/i] famous enough to be recognized. Oh, and the Bank Manager (Poor Man's Bill Smitrovich???) being prophetically right that he knew too much to live.

I love the spy movie-ish guitar riff that started when CTU figured out where Audrey was. Speaking of fieldcraft, the chase team didn't stay within visual contact of someone who didn't know fieldcraft anyway? (Aside from ditching the homing beacon.)

The Logans' kissing and making up was enormously icky, though Logan being an evil mastermind is clouding my judgement.

I'm riding the suspension of disbelief train for at least another hour. As the first post observes, the timing of the Evelyn Tape is totally wrong, unless she got Scotty to transport the recorder into the vault.

Stinger: "If you really want the details, I'll write you a report." Hee!

True, but given the snarking that's been going on with her, especially with her bathroom business, she deserved it. Too bad she didn't hide from Coffee Break Guy and whack him with a shotgun.

Alas, poor Mossman. Didn't he know that the #1 cause of death among men in L.A. is Helping Jack Bauer?

And poor Aaron. I'm afraid that when Jack told him to "watch his back" his fate was sealed. Dead man walking.

The James Bond guitar was really cracking me up. This show keeps getting goofier and goofier.

This was an excellent episode, if for no other reason than that it tied together all the threads of the narrative, while giving me as much Kiefer as I wanted. TPTB: keep scripting the story in advance!

Plus, the James Bond theme music for the satellite was fabulous...

Have I said I love this season?

I thought this was one of the fastest episodes this season. Maybe it was because of all of the twists and drama (contrived and not). I enjoyed Martha getting all hot and bothered over her newly macho husband.

I was shocked when Jack pointed the gun at the bank president's wife though I guess it was to be expected. I didn't like the bank pres. dying since I was screaming for Jack to lock him in the vault.

Audrey alone was pretty cool. Even if Kim Raver has toothpicks for legs.

Chloe, as always, has the best line. I guess that's why we needed the background that he was a perv.

ITA, ronathan. I've loved the new music this season, but the kitschy spy flick themes were distracting.

I'm glad that they're at least trying to resolve the "How did both Henderson/Cummings kill Palmer?" question, although it still doesn't make sense to me why Cummings would think that was a good idea. Maybe Henderson hypnotized him into doing it.

Uh...where was the tank? Was that in the first part of the episode, and I just slept through it??

I have a theory: the extent to which Keifer's new 3year contract is being touted on every Fox news show.....I'm thinking it might be a brilliant ruse meant to lull us into thinking Jack's life is secure, when it might be anything but.

Love how Chloe got the James Bond music. I have to say that it took me out of the moment, but it was too much fun for me to care. Dun, dun, dun-dun -- dun dun DEEDun!

I am so this show's bitch. I got chills when William Devane appeared on the screen. And when he agreed to meet Audrey (and her White Coat of Purity) and told his aide to keep the stop off the manifest? I started dancing in my living room. It's so terribly sad, isn't it? Heh. At least I know I'm not alone. Right? RIGHT?

I think Logan-as-villain is working, if you think of it as Logan-as-Ambitious-And-Stupid-Thus-Manipulated-And-Further-Compromised- By-His-Defective-Personality. It looks as though Henderson (and maybe others) got Logan's ear and got him involved in the original plan -- the one where the nerve gas goes overseas. Since then, Situation FUBAR, but Logan was in too deep from the start. Of course, this show gets my adrenaline pumping and I can't remember all the details from several weeks ago, so I can fanwank to my heart's content.

The Evelyn thing makes no sense, however -- unless it's possible that she taped the conversation before "today" started, so that all her behavior in this season is based on her daughter being held captive. I think I'll just go with that.

Where is Curtis? Is there some rule about only one handsome black guy helping Jack at a time?

Aaron! Aaron needs his own hero music.

Dun, dun, dun-dun -- dun dun DEEDun!

Seriously. To be fair to the writers, however, there have been large chunks where we didn't see Evelyn so I guess that's when she could have recorded the conversation as well as stepped out to go to the bank.

Well, things still don't make a whole lot of sense, but we don't have to retcon things as much as I was afraid of. Most of Logan's actions during the day turn out to have not actually been two-faced, because he didn't intend for the terrorists to actually get control of the nerve gas. Plus, he isn't the decisive mastermind - as usual, he seems to still be being led around by stronger personalities, in this case Henderson. On the other hand, things still don't make a whole lot of sense. Why did Logan hide from Cummings that he was behind the whole thing? There was no real explanation for that at all. And the chronology of Evelyn's actions don't really make any sense at all.

Evelyn and Brat are both deader than doornails.

Speaking of dead people...BankManager! Why in the hell did they kill the BankManager?! Ok, this is 24. So this is almost a stupid question. But come on...could anything have been so painfully foreshadowed? I knew from the moment that BM started saying how much he respected David Palmer that he was a fucking corpse.

I-SAW-IT-COMING-FROM-THE-AIRPORT

I don't know why it pisses me off so much, but couldn't they have just left this semi-redshirt alive? Just this once? Not only do they kill him just as expected, but they write off his death so quickly. They were all about protecting this guy 30 seconds ago, and now things are like:

-How's he doing?!
-He's DEAD!
-...Oh well. Let's see what's on the radio. "_"

*beats the hell out of 24 for sheer predictability*
