The Sci Fi channel used to show Firefly before their "Sci Fi Friday" lineup leading up to the movie. Now, every once in a while, they show an episode or a marathon. It is hard to keep track of when it will be on. I thought we could help each other out.

The online SciFi Channel schedule can be searched.

I don't see any of the episodes in the near future. And, it is possible that everyone who visits this forum owns a copy (at least one) of the DVDs. But, I still like to know which episodes are going to be on and when.

Comcast has the episodes 'on demand' ending April 30. (I think these are in original/wrong order).

What are the schedules in other countries? When else are episodes on?

Along these lines, Sci Fi (UK) announced new acquisitions and Firefly is on the list. Good news!

[hijack] For those in Minneapolis next weekend, there are some midnight showings on Friday and Saturday of Serenity at the Riverview Theatre. [/hijack]

Even though the main topic should be the TV schedule, I don't see the harm in adding links to various fan showings. This probably isn't the best place for conventions or meet-ups/shindigs, though. If there is enough interest, someone could make a thread for that. I wish there were fan showings in my area. It would be fun to see the BDHs with other fans.

I found this one just looking around for something else today:
Serenity Saturdays in Philadelphia

Somebody posted this in the old thread, and it's not on TV, but should prove intresting to some. Firefly/Serenity at the Del Mar.

On March 31st. Serenity will be the midnight movie at the Del Mar theater (1124 Pacific Ave. Santa Cruz). On Saturday April 1st. it will be the series and then the movie. Listed running time 14 hours(!).

Two weeks ago I went to the LotR marathon there. I told my wife that it was training for the Firefly marathon. If I could make it though that, then I'd have no problem staying up for the BDHs. I did doze off a little at the start of Return of the King, but it was 7am and in one of those talky parts.

If there's a shindig thread later, I post this info there. But for now this looks like the best spot. Maybe I'll see some of you there.

Edit for massive correction. Only 8 of the episodes will be shown, making the running time 10 hours. Price is $13 and tickets are now on sale. This site has more info and a chance to vote on the 8 that will be shown. Still hope to see some of you there.

Serenity (but sadly, not Firefly) will be part of the 24 hour SciFi marathon at the Drexel Gateway in Columbus this Saturday through Sunday.

According to SciFi.com, there will be a Firefly marathon on July 14. I don't see a listing for which 8 episodes will air, but maybe when it gets closer? I own the DVDs I don't know why I get so excited to see it on TV. But I do.

Grrr. They're still showing it anywhere in Israel. It never came out here (much to my immense disappointment). The local Browncoats managed to convince a theater in Tel Aviv to do one showing of the movie once, but unfortunately I didn't hear about it until 2 weeks after it happened.

Serenity on HBO all month!

And available on 'On Demand' for HBO subscribers from Sept 22nd (?) until October 22nd.

I plan to have it running continuously for all that time (at least while I'm at work and when there's nothing else on tv - it's premeire month, after all...)

The Ohio Browncoats put together a Firefly and Serenity Marathon for Charity. It is this Sunday, October 1. Noon to Midnight. I can think of worse ways to spend 12 hours. This would be a great way to celebrate the One Year Anniversary.

Looks like there is another Firefly marathon on the SciFi channel on December 12. Exciting! I have ran into a few people lately who started watching the series because they ran across a marathon on SciFi.

They are showing:

THE TRAIN JOB
BUSHWHACKED
SHINDIG
WAR STORIES
TRASH
THE MESSAGE
HEART OF GOLD
OBJECTS IN SPACE

I went and had a really great time. I'd never been to any kind of fan event before in my life, so it was really incredibly fun. Aside from doing something like eating Ye Olde Overpriced Flavored Ice Balls at the odd Ren Fest here and there, I've never seen fans dress up and just go forth in the world with such comfort in who they are. It was neat, and refreshing. Our Emcee wore a Badger Bowler hat with pride, and another guy there was in full on Captain Tightpants garb (and looked darned nice, something I didn't share with my husband).

I really enjoyed seeing Serenity for the first time on a big screen, there's a lot of detail to pick up in the background that I had never noticed before. Well worth it, and for such a good cause too.

That brings up an interesting question: is there any record of the initial air dates for Trash, The Message, and Heart of Gold? They may not have aired during the show's initial run but they have been shown on TV since in repeats like this one, so it'd be nice to have that as part of the official record.
