I thought it'd be cool to have a thread about the cast in other roles.

Does anyone know when the Break Up is supposed to be coming out? Of course, starring Jennifer Aniston?

Obviously looking forward to seeing Matthew Perry in the upcoming Studio 60. I've read the script and it's utterly fantastic. Apparently he wasn't keen on doing the show at first but he came to his senses. It's a truly great role (and he gets to date Sarah Paulson in it!)

June 2. It would be hard for this not to be a huge hit for her.

It's more of a drama right? It'll be great to see Matthew tackle this...

And thanks for the info tribema. The previews I've seen for the movie look great. Vince Vaughn's always hilarious. And The Break Up also stars another fave of mine, Jason Bateman.

Yeah, Studio 60 is a drama. But, like The West Wing, it's very funny aswell. Dialogue heavy of course, which is the great thing about Sorkin work.

Anyone watch Derailed ? I'd like to know what her fans thought.

Everyone I know who saw it said it sucked, and that Jen was awful as an actress, and wasn't even hot. Hmm. I thought that was odd, since she's always talked about in the media like she's so incredibly popular and beautiful.

I really like Derailed and I thought Jennifer did a great job in the role. It wasn't one of my favorite dramas and some scenes were difficult to watch, but other than that - I thought it was a good movie. I could be bias because I do like Jennifer's acting. I think Derailed is coming out at the end of this month on DVD.

I liked her a lot better in The Good Girl. She did the best she could with her character. Plus it had Jake G. Always a plus....

I have seen Schwimmer in Kissing a fool and loved him in it. He was the total anti-Ross in it.

Kudrow - I saw her in Analyze this and that, I did not find anything remarkable.

Same goes for Perry in all that he's done.

Matt Blanc - I think Joey is as good as he will get.

I thought that Perry was terrific when he was on the West Wing and I think that working with Sorkin is a great idea. I'm looking forward to it.

Kudrow - I saw her in Analyze this and that, I did not find anything remarkable.

I don't think Analyze That is a great example of her acting ability. The Opposite of Sex is good (I thought) and I can't remember the name but the movie with Val Kilmer where she plays a porn star's wife? I also like Romy and Michelle, but I'm a sucker for any movie with a dance sequence. That said, I couldn't get onboard with her new comedy (the faux reality show one).

Schwimmer's best work was in Band of Brothers. I see him ending up directing more than acting from here on out.

Jennifer Aniston is a passable actress, but I don't think she's be nearly as successful without the whole Brad Pitt marriage publicity.

I think that Lisa is the most underestimated of anyone on the show. First, Ursula and Phoebe are very different characters (and Phoebe is very different from Michelle of R&MHSR) - it's all about subtlety.

Also, her work in The Opposite of Sex and Wonderland (the one with Val Kilmer) place her range HIGH over any of her Friends costars.

Compare Phoebe, Lucia, and Valerie Cherish. The defense rests.

Lisa was amazing in the movie Happy Endings -- it was a really great movie overall, with a lot of actors cast against type. She's such a great actor, and I don't like that the Friends writers seemed to forget her more and more as the years went on. Her film roles impress me far more than those of any of the other Friends actors.

I kinda liked Perry in the Whole Nine/Ten yards, Three to Tango.. that one with Salma Hayak.. the name escapes me right now...

Sure, he's pretty much Chandler in all of them, but I think that's why I liked those movies. There's sort of an easy familiarity with the character, it's easy to watch.

I hated Derailed, but it was more to do with a stupid plot and little nitpicks than Aniston. I REALLY hated Romy and Michelle. I should try to see The Opposite of Sex, and I might catch The Break Up.

I really liked Jen in Rumor Has It but I thought the script itself was pretty weak.

Fools Rush In.

Also, add me to the list of those eagerly awaiting Studio 60.

Kudrow's getting some Emmy buzz for "The Comeback", despite the fact that it's already cancelled. Good for her.

I loved, "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion". Kudrow was hilarious in it. Also love Perry's movies. He does basically play a version of Chandler in each of them, but still good. I even liked, "Serving Sara".

I love Chandler.

I love Chandler when he knocks up a Mexican babe.
I love Chandler when he's afraid of Bruce Willis.
I love Chandler when he's sparring with Toby Ziegler.

MP could play Chandlers for the rest of his life and I'd be quite content.

I loved Courteney Cox in Scream 1 and 2. Scream 3 sucked balls.

I wasn't a huge fan of Scream 3 when I first saw it, but it has grown on me and most of my favorite scenes include Courteney "Gale Weathers" Cox and Parker "Fake Gale Weathers" Posey. The two of them absolutely crack me up!

I think Scream 3 is better than Scream 2, even if Scream 2 does feature Seth Bullock from Deadwood.

The Scream movies make it clear to me that Courtney is a passable actress at best. The scenes she does with her husband David Arquette make me worry about their future: they're sweet, but they're both pretty crummy actors. If neither of them can get work, who will pay for little Coco's therapy after the years of psychological trauma caused by being named Coco Cox-Arquette?

Hate to admit this, but I was the person who saw Marcie X. In the theatre. And really liked it. That's how inexplicably drawn to Lisa Kudrow I am. However, not enough to put up with watching John Travolta be gross for two hours of Lucky Numbers.

Pleasesendpants' courage has "embiggened" me to come out of the KudrowCloset as well.

I saw Marcie X.

However, the only part I really liked was the "Power of My Purse" rap, ending with the hysterical opening riff from "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going".

I'm also totally on board with Studio 60. I'm so so happy Matthew is going to be on that show. It has a great cast and great writing. Can't hope for anything more. Seeing as I am in good company, I will admit I love Fools Rush In and Three to Tango more than I really should, seeing as they are far from great movies. Hee. I went on IMDb to look at the movies Matthew had made, and it says he was in an episode of Ally McBeal?! I really don't remember that although I guess it was probably in the last season, when I had given up on that show.

As for Lisa, I agree that she was underutilized on Friends. I love Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. My friends and I quote that movie all the time. "Let's fold scarves." and "You look so good with blond hair and black roots; it's like not even funny."

My favorite Aniston movie is one where she has a minor role (coincidence?), in Office Space...

The only movie I've been Le Blanc in was Lost in Space, which was decidedly mediocre...

Kudrow was in a great movie that nobody saw, Hanging Up, but only because it was Walter Matthau's last movie, and Matthau is the man...

For Cox, the Ace Ventura series was funny, although that was mostly Jim Carrey being obnoxious...

Schwimmer was really good in Band of Brothers, but crummy in anything else I've seen him in...

As for Perry, Almost Heroes and Serving Sara is some of the most pointless stupid drivel ever to grace a movie screen, but Fools Rush In and The Whole Nine Yards are funny, but not necessarily stupendous...

That movie is a TV-actor lovefest. You have Alan Alda, Alison Janney, John Pankow (who was on Mad About You), and Jennifer Aniston in it. She and Paul Rudd are really good together.

I like Office Space but I thought her role in it was pretty inconsequential. They could have casted a lot of other girls in that movie. I did think she did a good job in The Good Girl and She's The One though.

The only movie I've been Le Blanc in was Lost in Space, which was decidedly mediocre...

I didn't see that but I was a camp counsellor at the time, and was submitted to too many viewings of "Ed". Ick.

Damn... I knew I knew Logan from somewhere!

Along Came Polly was worth watching, not for Jennifer Aniston or Ben Stiller (also a Friends alum) but mostly for naked Hank Azaria (again, a Friends alum). ROWR.

Am I the only one who thought The Good Girl was in the mix for most boring movie ever? Yawn. I like most of her other movies though. Even Derailed wasn't so bad, but I knew what the twist was 25 minutes into it.

CC was in this movie my mom used to watch all the time called Mr Destiny, I liked that when I was a kid, haven't seen it in forever though.

I like almost all MP movies. Even if he is Chandler in all of them. He's just adorable :)
