You Know You're Obsessed With Firefly When...

YKYOWFW... in your history class, your teacher refers to the New Mexico territory as "this land," and the first thing you do is look over to the friend you converted, and tell her that it should be called her grave.
...someone mentions the doctor on Lost (which is one of your favorite shows) and your first thought is, "But Simon isn't on the island..."
...a perfectly normal conversation is about whether or not a gaseous planet like Jupiter could be terraformed.
...your friend asked you how you are doing. Even though you are having a good day, you tell them it is not your best day ever.
I have so many more but these are the only things I can think of right now.

That's my problem. Though I've found it's a good way to find fellow Firefly fans. :). . .you have incorporated the terms "gorram" and "shiny" so well into your vocabulary that you don't even realize you're saying them anymore until your family or friends look at you a bit strangely

... You bought extra Firefly DVDs to give away before the BDM was released
... You had a Serenity party, inviting 50 people, and even bought extra tickets on September 30, 2005
... You bought several Firefly and Serenity DVDs as Christmas gifts
(That entire list is translated as: You Know You're Obsessed With Firefly When ... you spend an insane amount of money irrationally hoping that it will help get a Big Damn Sequel)
... You feel a sense of pride that the movie got made at all.... it really does feel like it is your movie.
... You almost stopped breathing when you saw that the Firefly forum was back up at TWOP.

...you find yourself peppering your conversations with chinese phrases like "go se" and "dong ma?" and don't even realize that everyone is looking at you funny...
...When you and your best work friend (whom you converted into a Browncoat) have a single shorthand phrase for someone ticking you off: " You know, I'll kill a man in a fair fight..."
...When your kids tear up their room for the umpteenth time, and you ask them, "Were there monkeys? Terrifying space monkeys?"

Yeah, once I made with the whole Mother of GOd and all her wacky nephews in Chinese and wow, did I get some stares.

I use "shiny" a lot online, can't help it. I'm pretty sure I use it a little in real life as well...increasingly more and more. I don't say "gorram" or "gorramit" though, they're a bit too goofy even for me. Seeing as there're still religions and a belief in God in the 'Verse, and since I'm pretty sure you can say "goddamn" and "goddamnit" on network TV, it struck me as a little unecessary. So yeah, what's up with that, Joss?
I do love when Jayne says it though. 'Cause he growls it. !!!

White Noise 2? There's going to be another one? (I was one of the few fans of the first, I guess.) Must.Know.More. Who's in it? Time to Google.YKYOWFW you're planning on seeing Slither no matter how crappy it looks and White Noise 2 no matter how crappy the first one was.

Actually, I don't think you can. For whatever reason, you can say "God" or "dammit" but not "Goddammit." That is, unless things have changed in the last couple years, which is entirely possible.
Topic: YKYOWFW... You own Mal and Jayne action figures and won't take them out of the box even though the possibility of toy-on-toy HoYay (ToyYay?) is very tempting indeed.

YKYOWFW...you're still having the same discussions with the same people over the same topics and you're still not tired of it!
YKYOWFW...you were ridiculously excited to get this forum back and are almost a little misty with nostalgia.
ToyYay! forever! That's too funny, mollyann.

Whoa, whoa! Do you have a pattern for said hat? Because my needles need a new project and that would be so hot!

Or you commission someone else to make one for you.
YKYOWFW when you take a box of blue latex gloves to the opening weekend for Serenity and pass them out among the other patrons.

Actually, I've recently been hearing "God damn" on network TV. Shocked me a little.

What were the E online rumers, and how do we know the'y are not true?
Supposedly someone had seen Gina Torres, Nathan Fillion, and Summer Glau coming out of (going into?) the new CW production offices at the same time or something.

YKYOWFW.. you try to convince yourself that you can watch War Stories and not be late to class, even though class starts in 20 minutes

...you fail to study for a exam in a class that will allow you to graduate from college in 6 weeks cuz you just saw the new threads and had to spend the rest of the night reading every post and reading the BDM recap again and again and again.
Edited because even though I'm graduating, my spelling still sucks.

...you change the greeting on your cell phone to say 'Shiny!'
...this was the last conversation with your brother:
Steve: Can we start using the word shiny everyday?
Me: Yes!
Steve: Shiny!
...you cried before Objects of Space even started because you learned about Firefly from a friend that had the DVDs and you didn't want it to be the last episode ever.
not that I've done any of these things or anything...I've just heard of them, that's all! *hides head in shame*
