Nick has always been and will most likely always be my favorite CSI:Original character. George Eads' amazing performance in last season's finale just cemented the love. Nick is just the least angsty and conflicted of any of the characters and I love that about him. The only quibble I have with him is his recent hair choices (I swear GE has had more hair changes (including facial hair) than the rest of the cast combined) but nobody is perfect. ;)

Compared to Marg and Eric?!

I like Nicky quite a lot myself, he's usually pretty even-keeled and pretty 'normal' compared to the rest of the CSIs.

Okay, maybe not Eric, but I think George could seriously contend for 2nd with Marg. ;)

I haven't watched enough Bruckheimer series to know for sure, but is it his practice to have one normal character and the rest with personal issues up the wazoo? Nick has definitely had his share of problems (more in fact), from the stalker to the whole buried alive thing, but he still seems to be holding together, not on the verge of breaking down. I like that about him. I have to join those who hold him as the favorite character. I like Grissom too, but Nicky's my favorite.

I like Snicky. I just want to know what GE did to piss the Hairstyling department off this season. At least the pornstar stache is gone, but the haircut is just so unflattering.

I didn't mind the new haircut... up until the most recent episode. Now, it's a little much. A little trim would be nice, although I wouldn't want the bald-headed look of some earlier seasons.

The haircut is just right. In fact, I think it should be a little bit longer so it just curls over the back of his neck. That's my favorite.

Can't stand his hair this season. It's like he's trying to style it to make himself look younger, and it's failing horribly. Go back to the studly shorter 'do, George.

ITA. One thing I love about the character is that he seems very optimistic, esp. considering all of the things that've happened to him.

GE really does need to do something about that hair. I liked his look from the middle seasons best.

Heeeey...now that we've got multiple boards again, are we going to see a resurgence of The Rage Diary?

Major lurker here... but I just wanted to chime in on the Nick love.

Like CloudyGumdrops said, I just love how Nick can remain so optimistic and still believe in people even after everything that's happened to him. Remember the ep with the kid who killed his younger brother? I was really impressed that Nicky refused to believe that the kid could have done it, even after he'd confessed.

That and he's really hot. Even with a moustache.

Oh, I think that the hair is George's doing. The 'stache was.

It's all partly to show that all is not right in Nickworld
partly because George gave up smoking.
and probably a further reason or two.

Nicky (and in my head he's always Nicky) is my favourite. I like that he's so optimistic and calm as a character, which makes the bad things that have happened to him so heartbreaking.

OTOH I adore the Rage Diary!

And hair preference: no mustache and short!

(BTW, what's Snicky?)

Ahhhhh, Snicky. That's what we call Smart Nicky, Belchimaera. I loves me some Snicky. Seeing him solve the case, or giving someone the evidence smackdown, or just doing some kind of lab work competently gives me the warm fuzzies.

Ah yes, Snicky as opposed to Snickers, which is the Sara and Nick 'ship.

I like both.

I hate it too, although it is an improvement over the mustache. There's not necessarily anything wrong with the length -- I think it's just parted wrong, or something else I can't really put my finger on. I didn't care for the post-Evel Knievel shorn look, either. Can't we get a happy medium back? George Eads is such a good-looking guy.

I've noticed that I tend to be alone, or at least not in the majority when it comes to my CSI opinions.

I love Nick's hair right now.

And, yes, I love Nick too. He's such a nice and optimistic person, despite all he has been true.

Am I the only one who much prefers the buzz? Of course, I feel that anything in comparison with this haircut is a major improvement, but I loved the post-Evel Knievel buzz.

Just caught GE's appearances on ER. I just love this guy.

I rather like the buzz myself. It fits with my perception of Nick. And it is hands down better than his current state.

Chiming in on the Nick thread because...well, he's my fav. ;)

That being said - the hair...I can't take it. The buzzcut was not a personal fave, but at least he still looked HOT. This style seems to hide all the hotness under it. You know it's still there - you just can't see it so good right now. If Nick is heading for a breakdown of sorts, and the long hair is a symptom of it, I hope he has it soon.

Nick has always been my least favorite character. He always came off extremely whiny, in need of coddling, and the seeking of Grissom's approval bordered on desperate to me. But! I've enjoyed him this season. I was in the minority in that I hated Grave Danger, and didn't think George's performance was all that great, but he's really hitting it for me this year. I think it has to do with the fact that he's totally over Grissom's shitty supervisor skills and for once, is disappointed in him. Now all George needs to do is fix his hair, and I may join y'all in the Nick appreciation.

I was looking at the screen caps of "I like to Watch" on Beyond Imagination and CSI Caps.

Is it just me, or in the scene of Nick getting interviewed, doesn't it look like one of the crime scene pictures behind him is of a coffee cup -- like the one bagged at the fake crime scene in Grave Danger?

If so, nice touch.

Mr Nice goes, "Your boy has long hair now." I'm like, "Who?" He points to Nick. I only watch the show on reruns on Spike! so I haven't seen his hair. I don't think I will like it b/c George has such a square face that I think long hair would look weird. It seems like a lot of you agree.

Nick is one of my faves, and I think the reason is he seems like a guy you would know in my area. The accent and the nice manners (for the most part) were all very familiar to me in the South. Even the buzz cut and the pornstache.

I love him, but the new hair has got to go. Away. Be gone.

I am embarassed to ask this, but....what exactly is the Rage Diary? I mean, I've read that thread, but can someone maybe give me a bit of background on it?

I'm new to this part of the forum, so any help here is greatly appreciated.

As for Nick's hair, I think if he'd pick a style and stay with it for awhile, maybe it would work better, as long as the Porn Star 'Stache stay away, that is.

Greg had different hair early on, but the length was pretty much the same, wasn't it? It was just the amount of styling product that changed....

Hey Spooneroonie - I didn't know what that was either when I first got here either! Thankfully, someone pointed me in the direction of the CSI Show FAQ and I was able to read up on all the inside stuff specific to this wacky TWoP crew. ;)

Here's the part about the Rage Diary...

Question:
What is this rage diary? What about the Day of Justice?

Answer:
This came about after I watched the umpteenth episode in which Nicky's coworkers implied that he was a dork or a moron, and I wondered why on Earth he didn't lash out, or have an ulcer, or appear to even mind.

So I figured he was venting his feelings in a rage diary that detailed every wrong against him, and when he got angry, he went to his happy place -- one in which he plotted a workplace killing spree.

So, no -- Nicky has never alluded to venting in a diary or making dioramas of the lab so he can plan who to shoot first. It's all a big joke.

Until the shooting begins, anyway

I never liked the buzz. For me, it just took away all of George's natural hotness. However, it was a much better look than the longish, windy "style" that he is sporting now. My preference, though, would be his season 1-3 'do, which was just plain hot.

hi all, been a looong time since I posted here. Going back to school curtails in serious posting *wince*...I also remember that at one time, the boards were so quiet that they had put it on permanent hiatus...guess it's no longer on permanent hiatus?

Anyways, back to the eternal hair debate with Nicky...Buzz cut - not so good. I hated the sideburns from last season I think it was. Those puppies were cringe worthy. I'm not loving this seasons hair either. It looks way too boyish and floppy. Makes him look kind of effeminate.

I like it short and cropped, but not buzzed. and no nasty caterpillar sideburns...they kind of reminded me of Detective vega with that awful hairy caterpillar stache one season.

The show is still in PH in that there will be no new recaps of the show (unless CSI fans win a Tubey Kids auction or something), but occasionally TPTB here open up subforums for shows that aren't being recapped but get a lot of posts and they have started doing expanded subforums for large franchises like L&O and CSI.

Topic? No matter the hair, Nick is always hot. (Though I have to admit the mustache threatened that feeling for a bit. ;)
