Me too. Jennie Fava is really talented. I hoped she and David T would do their own projects together in the future, but it seems not.
Doctor Who in the Media

Reports of the missing episodes vary between 2 episodes and 90-odd! Lets hope its nearer the 90. There are definitely some Troughton stories I wouldn't mind watching for the first time as they were on just before I was born. Supposedly we will find out on Friday.

Press Conference is Thursday.
Rumour is that
Given who will be at the Press Conference does suggest the rumour could be correct about which episodes have been found.
Deborah, along with Frazer Hines, will be helping the BBC to launch the newly found Dr.Who episodes this Thurs (10/10/13), betwwen 3.30pm and 7.00pm approx.

The news conference was today. The episodes were, as expected, Enemy of the World and Web of Fear episodes.
A delightful interview with Deborah and Frazer.
Phillip Morris talks about finding them.
The intro Mark Gatiss gave for Web of Fear.
This photo made me laugh.

That's a great pic. The type that ends up in caption contests, though I can't think of a caption right now.

We may finally have an episode where the Second Doctor plays his infamous recorder! (I believe all of those were lost, at least before now.) Not to mention, the first appearance of Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart! (I love the bit in the released clip where he says, "Come on, Macrimmon!" One Scotsman to another.)

That clip of Two stripping to his combinations and frolicking in the sea in Enemy is adorable. And knowing the BBC, it was probably filmed in the dead of winter. I hope they gave Pat a decent shot of brandy before he went in.

I can't think of a caption right now.
"Doctor, make Victoria give my kilt back...."

It's brilliant those two stories have been recovered. I hope more have been as well.

New trailer for Day of the Doctor is up. Every Doctor is in it (though McGann and McCoy are hard to spot). Also little glimpses of Sarah Jane and Delgado's Master. Very excited now!

Also, yay! Eight! I always squee when McGann is included.
Posted Oct 22, 2013 @ 4:50 PM
My personal squee is over Sarah Jane featuring so prominently. She (and Lis) deserve to be shoved to the front that way.

That's an awesome ad. But I think I might need a frame-by-frame guide to explain what's happening. I recognized some things, but I'm sure there are others that I missed.
This isn't frame by frame, but it's got some cool stuff.

I'm really looking forward to the 50th anniversary special next month. Doctor Who is one of those shows that when I got into it....I got into it. Tennant was my first Doctor, but I've since watched a crap load of shows from Classic!Who Doctors, and find that some of Tom Baker and Peter Davison's episodes surpass many from the Nu!Who era.

This year's "Children in Need" clip can be found online for those who want to search for it. Fair warning: it's a clip from Day Of that shows the scene where 10 and 11 come face-to-face.

For anyone who is interested, Google's search box has a shout out to Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary complete with a little game.

Dr. Who fans need to check out the Google search page today.

This is fairly amusing - the Daily Mirror (which bills itself "the intelligent tabloid") - published an article today about Peter Capaldi taking to Twitter to thank fans for welcoming him to the show. Only, it's not Peter, it's a teenage fan impersonating him. The BBC just announced that it's a faker and it's really obvious looking at it that it's a faker (why would the real Peter spend the whole of Chrismas Day chatting with fans online??) LINK

Lawrence Miles interview. For those who've never heard of Miles, this is him. But the short version: he wrote a few rather out-there DW books way back when, then created a spinoff that was even further out-there. Some of his ideas - like the Time War - were shamelessly nicked for the new series. Anyway, it's an interesting listen.

You'd think that after eight years, Mad Larry would get over his bitterness that he's not been asked to write for the series.
