with a definite end in sight and Greg Daniels back on board, they might have a fighting chance for a decent finish.
It was the only hope.

ETA: For some reason, per the story, I'm thinking I'd like it to be Jim to be fired, but it'll be Andy. He's been a no-show, what's the difference?

Sunday's New York Times art section had a lengthy and well done article on the end of the show, with quotes from Greg Danials and several cast members.
There's a minor spoiler that describes one scene from the final episode.

Since the Office started in the era when NBC super-sized things, it's gonna end that way too. 75 minute finale.
Now, how it will play after being hacked to pieces in syndication? Who knows.
Maybe as a three-parter? 25 minutes each is a bit long for a sitcom in syndication. With the short opening, maybe we could hope for 23 minutes an episode.

I really hope that if he has an 81-minute cut of the finale that they put that on the DVD.
