Say goodbye to the Temp! Now, Kelly Kapoor and Ryan are gone. The rest of the show should take the hint.

"This will be the last season of 'The Office.'"

I'm not entirely convinced the show is salvageable, but with a definite end in sight and Greg Daniels back on board, they might have a fighting chance for a decent finish.

It was the only hope.

It went on two seasons too long - should have called it quits when Carell left. I'll keep watching until the end though & hope that whoever is left for this season gets some decent storylines.

I too feel that the plug should have been pulled a while ago... a perfect ending would have been Pam watching Michael fly off to a new life. But I am looking forward to seeing how the writers wrap things up.

It's been a good run, although I thought the best things about last season were the cold opens. I'll watch to the end out of loyalty. I hope Daniels can work his magic one last time with them.

Office news from TCA. Carell's not coming back for the series ending. I don't blame him, "Goodbye Michael" was a great send-off.

ETA: For some reason, per the story, I'm thinking I'd like it to be Jim to be fired, but it'll be Andy. He's been a no-show, what's the difference?

Next week's Valentine's episode has been expanded to an hour (or two separate half hour episodes airing back-to-back).

Sunday's New York Times art section had a lengthy and well done article on the end of the show, with quotes from Greg Danials and several cast members.

There's a minor spoiler that describes one scene from the final episode.

Since the Office started in the era when NBC super-sized things, it's gonna end that way too.  75 minute finale.

Now, how it will play after being hacked to pieces in syndication?  Who knows.

Maybe as a three-parter? 25 minutes each is a bit long for a sitcom in syndication. With the short opening, maybe we could hope for 23 minutes an episode.

I really hope that if he has an 81-minute cut of the finale that they put that on the DVD.
