More like 30-90 minutes. Tip time has just been moved to 5:30.

I'd say it's going to be a solid 8:30 start time for the Race. This game is already more or less out of hand, so there won't be a lot of stoppages in the final two minutes or so.

I saw the credits for 60 Minutes start up around 7:44. Lovely that we have to wait this long on account of an elite powerhouse like UNC bat a mid-major around like a cat with a ball of yarn.

Remember that there is likely to be no TAR for April 1 - and that is not an April Fool's Joke - that's due to the annual CMA.

The latest TV Guide verifies that. If next week's episode ends on a cliffhanger, I am going to be pissed off.

From CBS:

Revised start times for tonight's CBS programs: 60 Minutes (7:18pm ET), Amazing Race (8:18pm ET), The Good Wife (9:18pm ET) and CSI: Miami (10:18pm ET) due to CBS Sports live coverage of NCAA Basketball.

I do complain about the overruns, but the last two weeks have allowed me to see really interesting 60 Minutes stories. Last week was about facial blindness & last night was about Novak Djokovic.

I don't think I would recognize TAR if it started on time. Now heading to a playoff in the Masters, so expect at least a 15-minute delay, possibly much longer.

It will be longer. The Green Jacket celebration is always included, so add on another 15 minutes or so.

Hopefully it'll end by 7:45, due to the celebration and not wanting to DVR too much unnecessary stuff. OTOH, an 8:00 60 Minutes start is okay as well. CBS might stretch things out so as to make the primetime start somewhat normal.

Funny how the Amazing Tweet said that TAR "could" be delayed. All of the 5 seasons that aired during the Masters since its Sunday move have been delayed.

So, it'll end when it ends, but this should be the last time TAR is delayed for the remainder of the season.

Took 2 holes to finish, so about 50 minutes delay. (Yay Bubba! Not something you'll hear me say very often.)

(And now it almost entirely overlaps Game of Thrones. D'oh.)

I know that TAR's been renewed, but I have to ask: when will CBS be announcing their 2012-13 schedule? I was planning on writing to Les Moonves, asking him to at least consider moving it from Sunday nights/ Given how bad Survivor has been sucking, maybe the shows could swap spots. I can dream, right?

They announce their fall schedule at the upfronts in 2 weeks. I'd say the odds of it moving from Sunday nights are almost zero. It's been in the top 2 or 3 rated Sunday shows the last 2 months (along with Once Upon a Time and Family Guy). CBS is overall doing very well, with the exception of Sunday, which is far and away their worst night, but TAR is their lone bright spot (currently Good Wife is doing pretty bad, NYC22 bombed out of the gate).

And we must keep in mind that yes, football delays are annoying in the fall, but they almost always help ratings, and better ratings = better chance of long-term survival of the show, so I'm content with Sundays for as long as the show is on.

. . . aaaaaaaaannnddd we're still at 8 p.m. on Sundays. Sign up for EyeLerts and adjust DVRs accordingly. Meanwhile, the mediocre storm that is Survivor still has the stable slot. At least TAR will have two shots to show improvements.

And prepare yourself for even longer delays during football season. The NFL just announced that the late games of the Sunday doubleheaders will be starting 10 minutes later (at 4:25pm Eastern).

I was just going to post about the football thing. Actually, it's a bit of good news/bad news. On weeks when CBS doesn't have a double-header, the start time of the late game is moved up to 4:05, so that might slightly cut down on preemptions on those weeks.

I'm not sure how the football switch will affect things. They can't slot 60 Minutes at 7 with the late games at 4:25PM; I expect they will do something like Fox and run a postgame show until 8. But what gets cut from the normal 7-11 (ET/PT) lineup? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

The Sunday shows take turns being cut? one week, its 60 Minutes, next time its The Amazing Race, then The Good Wife and then The Mentalist. If its 60Min thats cut, then the schedule is normal - TAR at 8, TGW at 9 and TM at 10. If its TAR, then 60Min is at 8, TGW at 9 and TM at 10. If its TGW, 60Min at 8, TAR at 9 and TM at 10. Finally, if its TM, its 60Min at 8, TAR at 9 and TGW at 10.

Well if CBS doesn't do that above and sticks with the delaying business they have been doing - lucky for me, I'm close enough to Canada (I live in the Buffalo, NY area) where I get CTV which always has AR at 8 (unless they are showing a Canadian award show then AR is shown an hour earlier) so I'll just record that one on weeks that will have the delay taking place.

I don't think TAR would ever get cut from the lineup. They might be able to cut a week of Good Wife/Mentalist since they have 22 eps to air over a 35 week period, but TAR is on a rigid schedule to finish at its usual spot in early December, so I don't think it would get pre-empted, except for highly unexpected events (emergency newscasts, etc)

I'm thinking the finale is December 9, with Survivor: Probst Alpha Male-Suckin' Hour wrapping up on December 16. I was figuring that out for a friend who always means to attend TARCon, but whose timing is always off.

I guess the Sunday slot will be a double-edged sword . . . great post-60 Minutes ratings, but forever bumped back by NFL overrun. You think there might come a time where any sports overrun could be avoided by setting up another channel where shows are not delayed? You know . . . like with "The Heidi Game," only with people able to see football if they wanted it. I don't think the FCC would go for it, but it's nice to dream.

CBS has announced that on Sundays on which they carry the doubleheader, the official start time for all primetime shows will be pushed back a half-hour in the Eastern and Central time zones. So technically, less of a delay.

From aml77's post: Per Hollywood reporter, those dates are specifically:

Sept. 16 and 23, Oct. 7 and 21, Nov. 4 and 18 and Dec. 2, 16 and 30

And as noted, there could be more of a delay beyond the 30min push.

Are we thinking December 9 is the finale? That's only the 11th Sunday, which would mean a 2 hour episode in there somewhere (likely the finale). I've got someone who wants to go to TARCon but needs to put in time off long in advance, and I don't want to say if its the 9th until we're sure! I wonder what the chances are that Race would be the 16th with Survivor the 23rd?

I know it's way early, but with how bad the replacement refs are in the NFL it's a pretty good bet that TAR will not ever start on time any Sunday that CBS has a 4:00 game. This past Sunday football ended at eight.
