I wonder why Kelli has never had in a top model who can assist everyone with poses for cameos in uniform and then poses for the calendar.  Some they want like why I have heard them call "catalog" where they look happy etc.  Some of them just look sad in the calendar.  I don't know why this group of photos is so sad and unflattering.

Again, I think they need a woman photographer doing this, and as suggested above, they need someone to pose them. There also needs to be more smiling photos. For me personally, the epitome of truly amazing swimsuit photography is the Victoria's Secret swimsuit catalog. It's PERFECT. There's a perfect mix of sweet and sexy, the girls are not overly "done," the photographers don't use much, if any lighting gear-they use gigantic sheets of diffusion material and that's about it. The rest is natural light. I like that. The other thing about the VS Swimsuit stuff is that it appeals equally to guys and girls. This DCC swimsuit calendar pretty much only appeals to men only.

My favorite DCC swimsuit photos are of Carisa. She is stunning and photogenic. Give me an entire 12 months with just Carisa. I have noticed that they have not released that many pictures of her yet.

VS models are WAY too skinny! My husband doesn't find them attractive at all...says he's afraid he'd cut himself on those jutting hipbones and that they all come across as stuck-up cows.

Most of the DCC are prettier than VS models and have more personality.

I think Carisa is one of the prettiest, too.

ITA with Italian ice. The VS swimsuit catalogue is photographic perfection. Some of the models ARE too skinny, but some of them aren't. But it's the art direction and photography that make that catalogue what it is. And the swimsuit choices.

This years DCC swimsuit issue looks like some college photography class took the photos. And don't even get me started on the swimsuit choices. To me, Brittany Schram looks the best because that girl could be a print model. She k led how to work the camera. The picture of Kim in the car is great, and Carisa has some great shots too. There's also that one of Jacie where she's glowing. But the majority of the photos are pretty bad.

Speaking of print models, I believe Brittany's sister Kait Schram is a print model. She has dark hair and they look somewhat alike, all of the photos that I have seen of her are gorgeous!

Great pictures of Brittney's sister.

The swimsuit issue of Star Magazine has much better pictures of them in their swim wear.

I subscribe to Star Magazine. I posted the link below to the swimsuit issue. I hope ya'll can access it. Let me know what you think of their pictures. (I tested the link and it works on my end but I'm not sure if it will work for ya'll)

I was looking at most of the DCC squad photos and noticed 2 things.

A couple of years where girls must have left the squad for some reason, they're listed as " left squad" and not by name. (1978-1, 1979-4, 1981-1, 1982-2, 1984-2, 1988-3, 2001-1, 2002-1, 2008-1). I wonder if they left on their own or were kicked off for a specific reason (ex: 2008 Jennifer McMahon). The 70s and 80s must have been not a happy time for some DCCs.

The 1998 squad has only 27 girls on it. Seems like such a small number and you can tell by looking at the picture. I wonder if not many auditioned that year or a lot of cuts were made.

When did the DCC start having cheerleaders participate in TC. Did K&J have to go through all of this to make the squad when they tried out? I really need to try to find the answer..I have to know.

Sorenson71: I have a copy of "Deep in the heart of Texas" and would gladly send it to you if you want it. It was written by the Scholz sisters who were all DCC during the late 70's and early 80's.  It chronicles some of the selection process they had to go through during that time including dealing with Texie Waterman and Suzanne Mitchell (who had a rep for being a back-stabbing Cee-U-Next-Tuesday).

I doubt that what K&J had to go through was the same as the current TC, but it was probably difficult for its time...back-stabbing, cattiness, playing favorites, and phoniness are somewhat timeless...lol

@Sorenson71 I can't answer for certain but it seems I read or heard somewhere that the whole TC concept was started when they started filming MTT.  Before that there were just auditions then they had the team.

I thought  I read someplace that TC was more for practicing dances and the girls who made it to TC were the team (no cuts or very few cuts were made.)  Imo, extra girls are brought to TC for the drama of cuts.  I wonder if all the drama behind the scenes and hardly any information being given out this season is a ploy to get more viewers.  Someone from inside the DCC organization is reading the boards here.

I see they have revised the list on DCC for twitter and Courtney's name is now gone.  There ae 27 cheerleaders, Kelli and then DCC overall.  Why isn't Judy on twitter too??

DCC Watcher: Judy is on Twitter. I follow her, search by Judy Trammel.

As far as TC, I agree that it must be done for the cameras but to me it's ridiculous. It does not take long to see if someone can dance/perform or look right in their uniform. I wonder how many more season CMT will continue to air MTT. I really do like the show but after a while seeing the same point of view (rookies) gets boring. They need to figure out a way to focus on the entire team.

Once again, someone took a bunch of really pretty girls and made them look aged and cheap. The swimsuits weren't well matched to their body types, the makeup is overdone and the poses were horrific, considering this is a team of performers who should be welcoming the chance to play in front of a camera. They should consider putting more than one girl in a photo or doing action shots like jumping or something. They're also missing an opportunity to sell me a bikini.

Lauren, Jacie and Carisa nailed it every time. Alex, Jasmine, Mackenzie and that boring brunette had at least one great pic.

My favorite bad pics: Jackie Bob, the unrecognizable Katy (I had to check the heading to see who it was), the overly racy Jennifer pose, the touch up on one of Emma's pics, Brittany's retro pink lipstick... And the grand finale... Jordan, with a horse, bad bedhead, and a sparkly top. There's a joke in there somewhere but really, I'm too worn out from laughing. Did Jordan really think they'd let her forget being late to the first game last year?

LOL! If Jordan's picture is payback for her being late to the first game, they got her good! I do wonder how she managed to get back on good terms after that screw up. Must have taken a lot of sucking up (unless she was already a fave, then I guess it only needed a little bit).

Jasmine's hair was sticking up from her weave and that's what bothered me about her picture

I thought Kim looked good.  Sydney and Jordan look too skinny.  Angela look good with her curves.  Was disappointed with Brittany, Mackenzie, and Veronica's pictures.  Jasmine's swimsuit was terrible.

I do not think Jordan is a favorite of Kelli's and Judy's.

The photos are, on the whole, so so so amateur this year. Totally agree with the suggestion of VS photographers! It looks like a teenage boy took these pictures. The one of Alex isn't good and it's a shame because she is very pretty! With the right photographer I think her and Kinzie would have been standouts.

That would be hilarious if it was payback for Jordan missing the bus - ha! The photo is laughably bad. It reminds me of that old spice ad 'I am on a horse'.

Has anyone seen this blog Jordan wrote a few years ago: tcushowgirlsweekly.blogspot.com? Wow. Explains a lot about her character I think.

I also think the swimsuits they're wearing aren't helping anything. At all. By and large, they're the kind of stuff you'd expect to see at a stripper store, if stripper stores sold swimsuits. Honestly, more modest cuts (and by modest I mean Victoria's Secret type stuff) with more smiles and not these "I'm so sad. Someone stole my horse" expressions, would be very helpful. Seriously, unless you have an innately sexy girl who just IS sexy no matter what, that whole "trying to be sexy" expression just doesn't work. I think big smiles or flirty grins would have helped a tonnnnn of these pictures be better than they are. Also, some of these poses are just awkward as hell. They look uncomfortable and unnatural to the viewer.

Blech. Better luck next year. Hopefully with different photographers in tow. And different swimsuits.

ETA-OK I figured out what these pics remind me of. They're very, very Model Mayhem. Basically, Model Mayhem is *allegedly* a site for photographers/models/MUA's to meet and work together, but really it's a site for guys with cameras who want to shoot half naked girls (literally, there's lots and lots of topless and full on nude stuff) and they have one light and a reflector and think they're the next Terry Richardson. Most of the stuff on Model Mayhem can easily be classified as softcore porn. Bikini photos abound on MM, and the vast majority are not done well.

I really hate swimsuit pics that have their thumbs pulling down the sides of their bikini strings, or holding up untied tops ready to fall off, etc. That's beyond 'girl next door' wholesome sexy and skankalicious.

I'm cracking up over the comments about the Jordan horse picture because I've been meaning to mention it. Everything from her hair to her make up to her facial expression suggests something very inappropriate to me and I laughed out loud the first time I saw it. Maybe the picture IS payback and Kelli just wanted to pose her like she's, um...a horse enthusiast?

Or maybe Kelli is just a horse enthusiast.

I wonder if Karissa and Ika had pictures on that site. Maybe that 's where Kelli found them.

Today are the auditions for the Dallas Stars Ice girls. I wonder how many girls that didn't make the DCCs or DMDs are trying out for this team.

I think Kim or Veronica also posed with the same horse.  Did anyone listen to the Star Magazine radio broadcast on the DCC website.  Kelli was talking about how and why they touch up the girls' pics.  She mentions how some of the girls over smile or has lines and wrinkles around their eyes.  Does she realize overtanning and bad makeup can cause the lines or makes the lines and wrinkles more noticeable.

I hated the makeover they did on Sunni the first time she tried out.  She look much older with the bad haircut style.  Danielle, imo, looks much older with her hair color and long hair.

Did anyone else notice how short Brittany's dress was in the one Season 7 episode where she was talking with Ashley (episode 4 or 5?)  Talk about seeing the cash and prizes.  I wondered if she had underwear on.  A little tacky.  The male film crew certainly got an eyeful.
