And it was about the long hiatus (poor TJ Thyne had to calm the masses and explained) and about Booth leaving his apartment behind for a new home with Brennan.
Considering before the show was renewed DB did pic tweets with the number 8, I doubt he is going anywhere. But I think he is trying to get people freaked because that gets buzz going and, with buzz, interest.
Is it the best way? That depends on what you think. :-)

He has a contract through season 8. I guess Fox could pay him to stay home and tweet, but I don't see why they would.
Money for nothing and the checks for free...
Sorry, '80s flashback! Carry on.
Anywaaaay, both David Boreanaz and Ian Toynton have tweeted pictures of, as they say, the VERY last scene of the finale.
Which doesn't look like...much of anything, really. Now I really wonder how the hell this all ends up.

I think they may be overestimating our interest....I won't be able to stay interested without Booth, even for a few eps. At this point, the tiny glimpses of B/B that we get are the only reason I'm watching.
Posted May 3, 2012 @ 5:28 PM
If DB leaves, I sure as hell won't be back next season. Heck, even if he doesn't leave I probably won't be back. This season has been lackluster at best.
This. I'm pretty sure I'm out after this season, either way. I'm just incredibly bored by the whole show anymore. The cases are asinine, the characters are pale imitations of their former selves who act in stupid ways and the chemistry between Booth and Brennan has pretty much evaporated. What's left?

Their lead, Steve Carrell, left before the current season started, and now they're saying that a number of the other main cast members are seeking new projects for the fall. Yet TPTB are still pushing forward looking for a renewal, which they are most likely going to get.
It's the same with Bones. While I've enjoyed them greatly over the years, they are also now coming into that dangerous territory where a lot of shows get into trouble. IMO I would think it better to quit while you're ahead, but it doesn't seem that any network wants to do that while the show is still getting high ratings, aka making money for them. And of course, we bow to the almighty dollar in America, and that's where we sacrifice quality a lot of times. It's sad, really.
A little info on Baby Christine for you...
She is not a twin, as I originally assumed, but played by Patience Kemper; her mom is Ashleigh Kizer, who was on the show Deadwood, which I'm not familiar with. Apparently, Patience weighed close to 10 pounds when she was born in mid-September, so she's a pretty big baby!

The difference I see with Bones is that it was never that good. I mean, it's entertaining enough but I've never really been blown away by how great the show is. Of course, I know there are people that are really into the show and that's great, I've just always been a casual viewer. I actually dropped it for a couple seasons but just picked it up again. I've said in other forums that I think the ideal series length is about 5 or 6 seasons. And I think shows should plan for that to be the length of the series...not shoot a season and then wait to see, year after year, if it's picked up for next year.

TV Line has the "trailer" to the meta Bones movie for the upcoming episode. They weren't kidding when they said this one would be high on the comedy. I bet Brennan will have a stroke, though!
More information about the season finale.

TT really rocked the Coffy Afro. Not to mention the clothes. Rowr. Die, Mothersucker! was hilarious.
Nice touch to have the squints blown up at a picnic.
ETA: Correct spelling is always nice.

Not bad, really. A nice fluff episode before next week.
And I have been vocal about too much comedy, so next week looks good. (And no cutesy announcer tone.)
Since sneak peeks, per TWoP, are not considered spoiler bar worthy, was that Pelant in the nursery in the preview?
ETA: Nice to see Canadian Foot Doctor Dude again! He and Brennan still clash. And Cam's past? Hilarious. She rocked the Afro!

I am not going to lie...even though I am worried about what's going to happen, I am ready for something meaty. Too much fluff this season.
Posted May 7, 2012 @ 8:40 PM
I agree on both points. Of course it was helped for me, that this one was actually funny, and not just the funny music to stupid stuff, like this show has done too much in later seasons. It's like how genuinely funny "The Double Death of the Dearly Departed" was to me, versus, well way too many other examples in seasons 6 and 7. Which I have to say, the bloopers from that episode are also hilarious.
I'm not usually a fan of the slapsticky episodes, but this one wasn't too bad.
But I'm glad the Pelant is back and standing over and threatening babies. See now that, is creepy. And a welcome change of pace of this show at this point.

one of the Executive Producers of the show is Stephen Nathan who runs the Huckleberry Cafe and they are the ones that serve dounuts to the crew (so I gather) and the ones that gave donuts to the fans at Paley. In fact Stephen Nathan's Twitter page features donuts. To quote Homer Simpson, mmmmm donuts Stephen Hanson as the murder victim. British Ian dude.
And what was with the freakin' donuts?
But even without BTS knowledge, I found the Invasion of the Mother Suckers stuff to be fun. Loved Hodgins and Angela. And Cam, with that wig/fro. And the vampire stuff and long death scene. And her clothes, and the stake being clutched visibly by her arm. Again, expectations are the show killers for me. Well that and at least this was supposed to ridiculous. Not just have me rolling my eyes at the absurd tropes despite it's attempts at seriousness and logic. Which is again, my own fault as a viewer.

The victim's name, Hanson Stevens, thus combining Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan's names, even having the drawing resemble HH/SN in a composite. So they generally offed themselves. And also did another riff on themselves saying the victim wrote nothing but crap. At least these guys can make fun of themselves, I guess?
The "everyone hates Hanson" remark. Hee.
The Canadian homage saying how Canadians shouldn't gloat to poor Dr. Filmore, the Canadian podiatrist doctor, nice to see him again. (I believe HH and Tamara Taylor are both also Canadian. Speaking of TT, I still loved her mini arc, as I said.)
The Liam guy representing Ian Toynton.
The donut issue as described above.
The fake B&B, complete with Fake Booth wearing a "Cooky" (versus "Cocky") belt buckle.
Not sure this is true, but I would not doubt it, but someone on Twitter claims Fake Booth's office is HH's office.
I still like Brennan and Filmore's antagonistic relationship, too.

Actually, Stephen Nathan's daughter is the owner of Huckleberry. They really do have one of the best donuts out there.
At least these guys can make fun of themselves, I guess?
I loved that they did that. They might as well make fun of themselves, and I like that they don't take all of that too seriously.
I loved all the little shout outs to the fans. And I actually enjoyed seeing where they film, the Fox lot and everything.
Cam's storyline was fantastic. I loved Hodgins trying to hide behind Angela, so Cam wouldn't steal the film. haha. Hodgins was awesome in this episode too.
Posted May 8, 2012 @ 8:28 AM
Thank goodness I wasn't the only one that thought that. Yeah, when the "B" storyline about Cam's foray into acting was the better part of the show, needless to say I wasn't invested.
What sweet hell was that? That was unfunny crapola. And what was with the freakin' donuts?
I guess the fact that Gavin Smith - a real Fox executive - is missing, and homicide is one of the avenues being investigated, I just found the main storyline very uncomfortable to watch.

A sneak peek of the upcoming #bones season finale is featured in this week's digital issue of @TVGuideMagazine! - https://twitter.com/#!/BONESonFOX/status/200314473519652865/photo/1
That picture breaks my heart and I can't wait to see what happens in the finale.

It looks like it will - and then some.

Preview 2 - the lights in this one and the ground, etc. sorta, kinda reminds me of the pilot scene and Brennan examining Cleo's body.
Just my guess, but I have a feeling that Max is going to do something drastic again. And how creepy that Pelant even managed to hack Booth's ring tone.
Posted May 11, 2012 @ 11:07 PM
Pelant is totally creepy, but he's my favorite serial killer.
I wasn't going to watch those sneak peaks, but I couldn't help it, and still doesn't tell much about the episode, I still have no idea what's going to happen. I know there are a lot of speculation, but anything could happen.

and I don't really care about Sweets, he's my least favorite character, even after Pelant. lol That's how much I like him. I keep hoping that this shocking cliffhanger is Sweets dying. lol But knowing my lucky, that won't happen. lol
Posted May 12, 2012 @ 4:47 PM
And Andrew Leeds (Pelant) knows how to bring the creepy!scary! to it all.

IMO there HAS to be a little something to shake up Booth and Brennan's domestisticity. Personally I would love to have them going along as is, with their little daily issues and quibbles but essentially happy. But you know how TPTB are -- if things are that way for too long, they seem to think fans will be "bored."
