Whether they're het, gen or slash, praise your favorite GA fanfics here.

YKYOWGAW.....you ball like a baby when you read bitchin' GA fanfic stories. Stay away from " Connected ", " If " and " Twist of Fate" if you are worried about your mascara running.
I am too lazy to retype this, so I is cut and pasted it from the "You know you are obsessed with Greys Anatomy when" topic. All 3 stories are available at fanfiction.net

I have to chuckle now, looking back. We've learned so much about Meredith and her affection for tequila, the characterization I had is a little off, in retrospect.

No, no, I don't think so at all. Her love of tequila is a different issue altogether and has no bearing on this story and her character, IMHO. Her lonliness and her reluctance to open herself up to others (pre McD) are what's front and center in your story and I just thought it was heartbreakingly real and vivid. It's one of the first fan fics I ever read, and its still the gold standard by which I measure a good fanfic, where Meh and McD are communicating, really, really communicating. Maybe coz they do it so rarely on the damm show is what makes the story so good....LOL

I don't know of any Gizzie fix, but the best of the bunch so far of the Izzie/Alex fix IMHO, are " Coffee " and " The circus is falling" both available over at ( gulp ) fanfiction.net. There is also a great FF over there called " Locker Room Rewrite" which is a great alternate take on the McD/Meh/Alex scene in 1.03
While on the McD/Meh fanfic love train, there is a great one out there called " All he needs to know " which deals with them dealing with coupledom AFTER McS hauled ass back to NY. I read it ages ago, so I have forgotten where I saw it. It's not at Fanfiction.net I know that much. It may have been LiveJournal... but I'm not sure.

That was your first fic JeS ? Seriously ? I had no idea. Damm.
It was the fic to which I lost my virginity. I've written several others since, but Connection will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks Beffers!

All He Needs to Know is by the ever fabulous Bella Lumina, and is available on her LJ.

Also, a definite thumbs-up for all of JeS's fic as well as Buckingham's stuff. They're my hands-down favorites in the GA fic world!

Serioulsy tho...3 is far too few a number for someone as talented as yourself. Who needs a college degree, skills, qualifications, the ability to earn a living etc etc when you have the far more worthy ability of keeping GA fanfic ho's entertained ? Some perspective here please !!
This goes for you too JeS but I do cut you some slack for all the hard work you put in with your pix website.

I've started writing on my first GA-fic, it's Meredith centric and sort of...odd. I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to look over what I have so far (it's kind of disorganized and confusing), and let me know if it's worth continuing to work on? My e-mail should be in my profile. Thanks.

LOL, thanks, Beffers. Maybe my adviser would understand if I explained myself just like that. ;)

First, Just a Daisy in the Shadow of the Sun by angelgazing. It shows how George/Meredith slowly turns into George/Izzie, and it's great.
Then there's Inbreeding by Mala, which is a fabulous Lost/Grey's Anatomy crossover. It makes so much sense I keep waiting for the network to pull it on screen.

It came to a painful, crashing halt because love was not supposed to be his best friend and Addison on his favorite sheets in his brownstone apartment, naked and laughing and smiling.
After that, Derek thought love was non-existent. That his parents had lucked out, somehow, someway and ended up with something that looked a lot like love.
So he settled in Seattle, all the way across the country, bitter and angry and defeated. And, unexpectedly, love became Meredith. Love became the smell of her hair and the wrath of her tiny ineffectual fists when he screwed up. Love was waking up next to her in her bedroom or in his trailer, arm around her waist, holding so close and never thinking of letting go. Love was private elevator rides and watching sunrise over the ferryboats.
Love turned out to be marrying her when he was 40 and she was just 28, a year and a half after his divorce, a year after Addison left for good. It was rushed and quick and simple, but it fit and that was all that mattered. Love grew to be the old house in Seattle, smaller and less glamorous than his old one in the Hamptons, crowded with four sassy, sarcastic babies with too much exuberant energy and loud, loud voices he can’t control.
It isn’t quite what he planned or anything he could have predicted. But sometimes, amidst the arguments and sarcasm and snark and noise that fill up the old, rickety house, it feels perfect and right and the proper form of forever that isn’t quite astonishing, but isn’t unremarkable either. "
Couldn't resist cut and pasting an exerpt from a recent fan fic favourite. Hope I am not breaking any TWoP rules by posting this. How much do I love the idea of Derek and Meredith having 4 sarcastic, sassy babies ? You have no idea.

In case anyone doesn't know, a ficathon is like a challenge. You submit the list of characters that you feel comfortable writing, then you submit a request of the characters you'd like in the fic written for you, as well as some requests and/or restrictions. Assignments are e-mailed out, and you have around two months to write a story around the requirements. It's a lot of fun, and it gives you a chance to play around with your story, and get ideas you'd never think of otherwise.
Here's the information for this ficathon, centering around the women of Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and The West Wing.
The Women of Sunday Night Ficathon
This is a multi-fandom ficathon for the women of the shows The West Wing, Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. Shipper fics are welcome as long as the story is centered around one or more of these fantastic female characters. You do not need to be a fan of all three shows, even one is perfect, we'd love to have you!
Sign Up Dates: January 12th 2006 - February 1st, 2006.
Assignments: Will be sent out by February 4th at the absolute latest.
Due Date: April 4th, 2006, but it's flexible.
Length: 800 word minimum. After that it's up to you where you'd like to stop.
Sign up list can be found here.
(And as a sidenote, I have a thing for Addison fics. Anything Addison in general, really, can't get enough of her. So if anyone signs up with Addison requests, I'll love you forever. :P)
