"Commander in Chief," 9.6/14, was down some from recent weeks but still won the 9 p.m. hour for ABC. "House" returned to FOX with an 8.7/13. "The Amazing Race," 6.8/10, finished third for CBS, ahead of "My Name Is Earl," 7.6/11, and "The Office," 5.2/8, on NBC. UPN moved up to fifth with reruns of "Everybody Hates Chris," and The WB trailed with a "Supernatural" repeat.

a repeat of Supernatural (Overnights: 1.3/ 2; Viewers: 1.36 million; A18-49: 0.6/ 1).
ABC's "Desperate Housewives" delivered a 15.5/22 for the 9 p.m. hour. The first hour of CBS' "Category 7" did a 9.7/14. The beginning of NBC's two-hour "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" had an 8.4/12, better than FOX's "Family Guy" and "American Dad," though that duo again topped NBC in the key demographic. The WB's "Supernatural" wasn't really in the hunt

And does it depress anyone else when they read about Jared's and Jensen's girlfriends? Because the fangirl in me gets very sad when I hear them talk about their girlfriends.

Thanks for posting this, Brunette ! I have been feeling stupid and childish for getting all upset for the same reason!

Supernatural (WB)
Overnights: 3.3/ 5 (#5), Viewers: 4.34 million (#5), A18-49: 1.7/ 4 (#5)
Could be better this week, but still an overall good fit out of Gilmore Girls.

I could be that nobody wanted to watch this episode because they all thought it was going to be lame. The previews made it look worse. The episode was not good and it does not bode well for this show next week.Maybe the ratings went down because people are so freaked out by bugs? Ghosts and goblins are one thing, but bugs tend to freak people out more than things that go bump in the night. Which confuses me to no end.
Knowing the WB they probably won't. 5 million viewers would be nice but I don't think it can ever hit that mark again because all its competition and because I think the Bugs episode really hurt it.All the WB shows seem to be down this week, including lead in Gilmore Girls which, for it's last "Fresh" episode pulled in over 6 million. Charmed was down like 600,000 as well, and Smallville didn't pull in as many viewers from the previous new episode to the most recent. Not sure what's going on, but hopefully the Boys will bounce back to the 5 mil mark.
They should promote the HELL out of next week's episode, given the hugeness of the premise.

For now, I'm thinking of it as a temporary blip - the show has been a good anf consistent performer for WB during it's first 7 episodes, I don't see any reason why that won't continue.

Also, the last three weeks have consisted of two of the weakest episodes so far (Hook Man and Bugs) and a repeat that has now aired 4 times (DiTW).
I definitely think ratings were hit hard by the huge competition this week, but I don't expect them to be down this low in future. For now, I'm thinking of it as a temporary blip - the show has been a good anf consistent performer for WB during it's first 7 episodes, I don't see any reason why that won't continue.
