I saw most of the show tonight, and I thought it was pretty hilarious. I'm a sucker for home improvement shows, and this is unlike any of other shows I currently watch. The merry band of misfits was amusing, though Ray could use a tranquilizer now and again.

Adam's talk show and his appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live are hit and miss with me, but I have always loved him on Loveline. I think this environment is better for him than TLwAC. Like Loveline, the reality format allows him to be a little more free-form.

Another thing I like about this show? The busting on Ty Pennington.

I'll have to check this one out. I used to listen to the Kevin and Bean Show on L.A.'s KROQ FM, and Adam Carolla had a segment (can't for the life of me remember what it was called) where he dispensed carpentry advice to call-ins. I remember it being somehow hilarious. If memory serves, Jimmy Kimmel was the sports guy on the show. This was probably around early-mid 90's.

I loved the show. The crew is crazy and it should be hilarious. I can't believe someone like Adam is living like that - what a beautiful house. But what was up with his father's roof?? Do you think he was really living in that house?

Yeah, he's still the same annoying Adam Carolla, but he's much better when there are other people to work off of. And the crew seem funny, so I think I'll keep watching.

His wife seems cool. Very pretty, but not the kind of whorelet I was expecting.

Oh, and Jimmy Kimmel's an executive producer. I mean, I know Carolla got the Loveline gig and all before The Man Show, but everything since then has just been Jimmy Kimmel's coattails.

I thought it was hilarious, as well, and I had no preconceived notions in re Carolla whatsoever. Loved the Realtor, loved his dad, loved Ozzie, loved his wife, loved the asbestos guys, loved the snark on SoCal real estate prices - everything. At this point, I'm stunned when TLC comes up with anything watchable, let alone good...

Jimmy's coattails and Adam's ideas.

I thought the pilot was probably the best home improvement show on TV, and its always nice to see someone who's reached an amount of celebrity keep the same friends around him that he's known for decades.

Psst - it's spelled Birchum. Just FYI. I've always laughed whenever "Mr. Birchum" was on KROQ's morning show, and still break out his "Christmas Gift List" from one of the station's earlier holiday CDs when it's that time of the season. It's a riot.

I missed the premiere this week but have since set my TiVo to record the rebroadcast. I'm glad to hear it is being received so well.

LA real estate is crazy. Almost $800,000 for two bedrooms and one bathroom? Eleven hundred square feet? I'm from the Bay Area and that still seems insane to me. I wonder what the asking price was for the billboard house.

The price Adam paid his father didn't seem so outrageous, even if the house was falling apart. The lot is huge.

I loved when Adam was at the billboard house and started telling the realtor about all his ideas for the house and yard with the elephant dung and the turrets. His wife's story about how they met was funny, mostly because she was obviously telling the truth and imitated him so well.

I'm really surprised I enjoyed this, because I can't stand Adam Corolla and his half-thought thoughts. In small doses I always found him OK, even hilarious on occasion, so I figured more of the same. I was surprised at how well this show moved and how well he moved it. I still can't take too much of him, though. It's not just the mental diarrhea, but that voice...! Gawd, that voice! (To his credit, at least maybe the rest of the country will shelve the idea that everyone from Southern California talks like Spiccoli or Moon Unit Zappa, though some do talk like Jonathan Antin <sigh>.)

The renovation itself looks good. I'm interested in seeing how they finalize the courtyard. I've been wanting to do something like it.

As a sucker for DIY shows, I gave this one a watch.

UGH.

I'd never heard of Adam Corolla, and frankly, never want to hear from him again.

I don't need to watch a bunch of guys act like frat brothers.

Mr. loudfan is a major AC fan, so we recorded this, and I thought I'd just watch the first few minutes and then go read the paper. It turns out I watched the whole thing and laughed so hard I cried. This is MUCH better than Adam's Comedy Central talk show, IMO. Can't wait for the next ep!

I've never been a a big AC fan, but you can mark my name on the side of the list of those who enjoy this show.
I've seen the first two episodes and I think that it's funny and I laugh out loud watching. They're all a goofy cast of characters. Ray working in his flip flops is a riot. I like Matt the assistant, and thought that all those "manly" men were great with him working on the demolition. And Adam's dad was a little cutie on last nights epi.
It was ashame to lose that beautiful lemon tree.

I'm liking this show a whole lot. I felt so bad for AC when the guys didn't preserve the tongue-and-groove wood flooring. It looked really nice.

I'm impressed with AC's real estate savvy. His homes are beautiful! How prescient of him to buy a home ten years ago when everyone told him he was crazy to do so. He probably got that home for a freaking song.

Dad Carolla made me laugh. He's a funny guy.

I laughed out loud at AC's reaction to the facialist's not knowing what "This Old House" is. That was awesome.

Ray is going to lose a goddamned toe if he keeps working in flip-flops!

I really like Lynette and her anecdotes of when they first met ('Hey, are you a single gal?') and how he asked her about dating exclusively ('I'd like to date only you if that's okay.') C'mon - that's sweet, guys! Who knew? Seeing AC with her makes me like him more.

I had a feeling Lynette's test results would be negative only because I'm sure AC would have been talking about her pregnancy on Loveline or elsewhere. I wish them the best of luck as I think they would make great parents.

RIP Lemon Tree 1952-2005. Sniff. That was sad.

The spa visit was pretty hilarious. I love that they had Rene getting a spray tan. Ray's pedicure will be pretty useless if he keeps wearing his work-flops.

I really liked Ray the past couple of episodes. He seems a little calmer, but still goofy.

I saw it and it seemed one of the more stupid things TLC has tried. One can hope it goes away soon.

For a long time, I've wondered how AC got on TV in the first place. After seeing this show, I'm still wondering.

Fewwww, found the thread.

I've never watched Adam Carolla before, but caught this show while I was home sick last week and thought it was funny. Watched the new episode last night and wasn't as enamored, but I think I'll keep tuning in just to see if the house ever gets finished.

Was it ever talked about what Adam plans to do with the house? Just flip it?!

I laughed out loud last night when flip-flip man said keep the robber’s shit for DNA or something. Ewwww and ha!

Two funniest things on the show so far.

1) The guys pinching Ray's back zits with pliers. I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe.

2) The look on the fighting Sea Bees (US Navy Construction Battalion) faces when Adam's boys were doing their usual idiotic arguing. I wonder if those guys seem like such big dummies to each other as they come across to the audience when they try to out logic each other.

But I have to admit that Adam's nephew trying to order lunch and Ozzie throwing a hissy fit when Ray's mother made lunch was pretty hilarious too.

It was touching that the US Navy Construction Battalion (the Sea Bees that kill and build, at the same time) will fly the flag in Iraq that was hanging up in the garage. Hoo-Rah!

This is the funniest show on television right now. Adam Carolla always makes me laugh, whether on "Loveline" (really miss him on that!) or his tv shows. But "ACP" keeps me entertained for a solid hour and I can't complain about that. And I'm not even a fan of home improvement shows! Everyone is fascinating to watch but my favorite is Ray. He's an interesting combination of flip-flops, plaid knee-length shorts and bacne. I loved the show from the first few minutes of the first episode but I knew this show was gold when they showed Adam popping the zit on Ray's back with a pair of pliers. Too bad the show's on for only 13 weeks. I could easily watch it for a lot longer.

Oh, and my favorite quote from "ACP", from Adam to his nephew: "Don't listen to Ray, don't talk to Ray, don't establish eye contact with Ray. If he starts coming at you, just go into fetal position and play dead."

I think in someways this is a pretty realistic reality show, because there are crews of knuckleheads like this out there actually working on houses.

Really.
