Are there any fans of the Chuck Barris produced and Geoff Edwards hosted Treasure Hunt because I love that show. I admit to having a crush on Geoff back then as I still do today! Anybody?

I *loved* that show! All I remember of it, however, are Geoff Edwards and a HUGE pile of wrapped boxes. Kind of like every kid's Christmas fantasy.

But I guess I don't need to remember anything else. Geoff Edwards. His curls. His smile. Sigh (dopey grin).

Who was the guy in the derby who came out at the end? All I remeber is his one line. "Yes, I did Geoff."

Oh yeah, the straight-faced dude (some sort of security guard? but wearing a derby?). He was the one who'd hidden the Big Money check in one of the boxes. No idea what his name was, though.

I really like Treasure Hunt too. The bonded security agent who never spoke and never cracked a smile was Emil Auturi. I would watch this show when I was about 7 years old and was freaked out by "Mr. Autouri", as Geoff would call him. I was also freaked out by the song they'd play when someone was klunked. Despite being freaked out by this show, it's still one of my favorite game shows of all time, and I'll watch it any time it's on GSN, which it hasn't been on in ages.

Treasure Hunt Info. Check this link out.

This show was on when I was a kid... Jan Murray was the host!! I remember having a tiny crush on him. I don't remember seeing the one with Geoff Edwards. When was it on?

When I was a kid I also used to watch Truth or Consequences with Bill Cullen as the host. Beaulah the Buzzer!!

First one on from 1973-1977
Second one from 1981-1982
Geoff Edwards says that he loved the 80's version because it didn't involve Chuck Barris' input.
Because Barris wanted to get really sadistic with the skits, Edwards felt uneasy.
Also Edwards enjoyed a much close friendship with the staff in the 80's as well.

My best friend and I were really little when that was on. We thought that Emil Autouri's name was "a meal of turkey." We still laugh at that every once in a while. I remember nothing else about the game other than him and all the presents.

I had never seen this skit but in another board which I won't name when I put the topic on, one person says that on the 80's show, one of the skits was the shirt off host Geoff Edwards' back. He had to take off his shirt & give it to the contestant.
Meaning taking off his tuxedo from the top. And get this....He NEVER had a t-shirt underneath and the results were really hilarious!! I would pay to see that happen!

This show had so much stuff you could never get away with today:

-- Jan Speck coming down the middle steps in a low-cut top, then bending over to ask the contestant what box she wants, while BoobCam™ does its trademark zoom, followed by

-- Geoff leering at Jan and making suggestive comments under his breath.

-- Jan occasionally modelling outfits by "Fred the Furrier."

-- Every single contestant being female. You'd at least have the occasional guy nowadays.
