Although it's already a little bit older, I think the positive pilot preview at the futon critic is a nice start. Note: full of spoilers for the first hour.

Here's a little Wentworth Miller ("Michael") interview from The Miami Herald.

The Chicago Tribune has several articles on the show today. (This link is to one of them, you can find the others from there.) Since the show is filming at the now-closed Joliet State Penitentary southwest of Chicago, the article is more than just press-release stuff.

Zap2it's TV Gal had some loved for Prison Break in her column this week. She gushes over Wentworth Miller, though she fails to mention my hot man, Dominic Purcell.

There's a two page article in this week's edition of Entertainment Weekly (Terrance Howard's on the cover). Also, there is a hideous pic of Wentworth in the front of mag. I think the pic is of him "in character" so the picture (i.e. baggy clothes and Urkel-like pants) can be forgiven but seriously, seeing a gorgeous man like that in a photograph is just a little shocking.

Fox's website for the show has a couple interviews (One with miller and the other lead char, and one with Stacey Keach and Sarah something, she plays Dr. Tencredy). They talk mostly about working with the director Brett Ratner who did Rush Hour and let's not forget Money Talks. give them a look, they're pretty interesting.

I don't know if this counts as "in the media" though.....whatever.

After the Sunset was pretty dull, but I loved both Rush Hour films. Suddenly I'm looking forward to this a lot more.

Cool article! I hadn't realized they were using the huge, intimidating prison from The Blues Brothers ("On Thursday nights, they serve a wicked pepper steak!")

The NY Times [registration required] gives it a positve review.

Review snippets:

"Prison Break" does not try to go as deep as "Oz," and its characters are not nearly as finely drawn. Instead, the series has a found a way to tap the horrors of prison life to create a suspenseful thriller.

Mr. Miller, who was in the movie "The Human Stain," does not show a broad range of emotion, but he projects an unflappable determination that confounds his fellow prisoners and intrigues the attractive prison doctor, Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies).

Prison life is scary, but it most of the time it is deadly boring. Luckily, "Prison Break" is not.

I don't know if this is the right place to put this but as I was wandering down Michigan Ave in Chicago a couple of weeks ago, 3 guys in orange prison suits wearing handcuffs walked up to me and tried to give me something about this show. I didn't realize what they were doing and just said an automatic "No," but when they walked away I realized and almost chased after them!

Edited to add:
and Time Out Chicago has an article about it

The Chicago Tribune also had an article about the prison they're using in the show, the now empty Joliet Correctional Center. No spoilers, it's just about how the actors used the history of the real prison to get into character and such.

Oops, I just noticed this was already posted up thread. Sorry, you'd think I'd notice that in a thread so short. *mutters to self: stupid, stupid, stupid!*

I think I might have only caught the end of the segment. They talked about how Went (as he is called by his friends) started out as a PA (and said that at one time he thought he had probably temped for most of the people in the casting session) and this was kind of his big break. And he talked about how he was getting collect calls from prision inmates, that was funny.

Oh, and I am totally having a brain fart...I can't remember the other guy's real name...grr! Anyway, they talked about him being in John Doe and how he was naked (and no butt doubles were used) at the beginning of the credits (I guess, never saw it). They said they film a lot in John Wayne Gacy's old cell and how creepy it is. One make up artist refused to go in the cell and do makeup touch-ups apparently. (Can't say that I blame them). He must know Hugh Jackman and said that after a night of too many drinks he went to see his show (is it a Boy called Oz or something like that?), and arrived late. Hugh zeroed in on him and picked on him throughout the show (must be what's done during this show to an audience memeber). He said something about being a little buzzed and couldn't quite figure out what was going on at first (paraphrasing of course).

That's all I can remember. I loathe those bitches on that show so it was hard to concentrate. But they sure do make a couch full of pretty when they put the guys side by side like that.

I would pay good money to see this broadcasted. Or, just to see the two of them standing next to each other. The combined hotness of them in those four square feet would explode in a hotness supernova.

Apparently, DP and Hugh Jackman are old friends, which was why DP went to see his Tony-winning performance in The Boy From Oz.

Tonight on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart mentioned Prison Break during a Dick Cheney joke. He was fake quoting Cheney as saying something along the lines of: "What? Oh, I was watching that Prison Break show. I don't get how it's going to last a whole season. I mean, the end of the show is right there in the title."

That's my best recollection of the PB mention.

A funny article from sobell's other website. Featuring mr. sobell.

My favorite part:

Sometimes I wonder if the producers of 24 put the producers of Prison Break up to it, specifically so that by comparison their show would no longer seem ludicrously unrealistic.
