So far, I have to say, I'm surprised "Buster" of Mythbusters didn't make it to the top 3 for Best Performance by an Inanimate Object. After defying death multiple times, he finally met his end in the firecracker chair. R.I.P. Buster I

I think the Veronica Mars' credit sequence winning was like Amazing Race winning last year. More a reflection of the show's popularity here than anything else. I mean, the song is cool, but otherwise the credits are nothing special (and I love the show).
Thanks for the info about the races that were — and were not — close. This is all very exciting.

I agree (and I also love the show). I voted for House because I thought the combination of "Teardrop" [and its heartbeat-like rhythm] and the medical graphics managed to give away just enough about the show to get a viewer inside, without being overly clever.

The God Machine rules! Ok, only by .45% (!) but whoo-hoo!
Yay! You go God Machine!

I think you're right. To me the credits are very generic, most shows have a look at our actors and a song opening credits. At least the other two are different what with a 10 second sequence and (where my vote went) cool fx shots and setting up the universe of BSG. Plus I love the music, the UK version. I've never heard the other one.

This is true. It totally earned its spot in the Best Finale and Best Hell Yeah categories, but there were a lot of better opening credits. I voted for the totally awesome Dead Like Me credits, but DLM didn't have enough viewers for it to ever have a chance of winning anything.
No FX in the best cable channel category? Seriously?
Thank God Marissa won Worst Crimes Against Fashion, but I wish they would have at least mentioned THE HAT.
Start counting: Veronica Mars has racked up five awards so far. I'm predicting it will get about 18 total. Don't get me wrong, VM is my second favorite (sacrilege!) show on TV right now, but the power of the fans kinda scares me a little.

Second, unfortunately I didn't keep track on what I voted for for every category.
Now, a more detailed look on the results.
Best Hell Yeah! Moment of the 2004-2005 Season
I cried during that kiss scene on VM. That says it all. Although I think I voted for something else.
Worst Crimes Against Fashion of the 2004-2005 Season
Are you kidding me? Where's Phoebe Halliwell? That wasn't just a crime, that was something really really really bad. Left me a little bit disappointed.
Worst Network Meddlers of the 2004-2005 Season
FOX "wins". True, oh-so-true.
Best Finale of the 2004-2005 Season
YES! Veronica wins. I'm so happy.
Best Attention to Continuity of the 2004-2005 Season
I voted for Arrested Development, but Veronica Mars and Lost were hot candidates, too. I just think that AD did an amazing job this year, and the attention to continuity was a big part of that.
Best Credit Sequence of the 2004-2005 Season
I can't understand that one. Someone said it before, as much as I love VM, the credit sequence is just standard. I think I voted for Desperate Housewives, because they did a really creative thing with that one. Also, Danny Elfman rules.
Best Performance by an Inanimate Object in the 2004-2005 Season
Hey, Blue Paint! Where's my Blue Paint? Damn. At least something else from Arrested Development made it.

That is pretty much exactly what I was going to say. I almost voted for VM though, since I do love the theme song. The last shot of angry-looking Veronica power-walkingg kind of ruins the credits for me though. It's so silly.I agree (and I also love the show). I voted for House because I thought the combination of "Teardrop" [and its heartbeat-like rhythm] and the medical graphics managed to give away just enough about the show to get a viewer inside, without being overly clever.I think the Veronica Mars' credit sequence winning was like Amazing Race winning last year. Also, Lost has the best opening credits? It doesn't even have them. I guess that's what people like, but I think with a show like Lost they could have done some really cool credits so I don't like that they just do the big letters.

Re : Credit Sequence. I voted for Desperate Housewives. I'm not the biggest fan of the show, but I'm something of an art nerd, so I loved the credits. I've never seen Veronica Mars (I know, stone me.), so I can't really say that I know whether it should have won.

Agreed. I voted for Battlestar Galactica, mainly because the credits changed from week to week. And really set an awesome mood. (Not to mention had great visual effects from the Mini)I think the Veronica Mars' credit sequence winning was like Amazing Race winning last year. More a reflection of the show's popularity here than anything else. I mean, the song is cool, but otherwise the credits are nothing special (and I love the show).
And not even because they're too cool for school. It's so ABC can run more commercials. Also, Lost has the best opening credits? It doesn't even have them
I'm not sure Lost really fits that category well, unless you consider massive retconning to be Continuity. The whole season seemed disjointed at times, and massive retcons after another at others. Again my vote was Battlestar Galactica.Best Attention to Continuity of the 2004-2005 Season
Adama getting shot, people on Kobol stranded, the President in jail. Too awesome of a finale. And really set up the awfulness (not of quality) to come.Best Finale of the 2004-2005 Season

Marissa was a shoo-in for worst crimes against fashion ever since THE HAT. And even though I voted for Franklin, I'm glad the God Machine won, as it's mere appearance always cracks me up.

And Jon calling Tucker Carlson a dick on Crossfire, is the all time greatest moment in television.

I love the show, but are the credits really the "best" to be seen on TV? I voted for Desperate Housewives, a show which I don't "love" (though I watch it), because I actually can watch the opening credits. They're cleverly done, the tune is catchy.
Honest to say, with most shows I actually look away from the screen and daydream while the credits run.
As for LOST...it has a minimalist title, and the credits run under the opening scenes. I think the way it's done is awesome, punctuating the episode's first "surprise," the way Alias sometimes slams the brakes on a cliffhanger with the ALIAS logo. but I couldn't bring myself to even call it "opening credits." How about it wins by default in a class of its own?

For those of you not watching VM, please give it a shot! A show that is (so far) running away with the Tubey's can't be that bad! Catch the next episode, you won't be sorry!

I may. At least it appears not to be against House anymore; apparently it will go against Lost next season. All said, I wouldn't mind a VM sweep though. For those of you not watching VM, please give it a shot! A show that is (so far) running away with the Tubey's can't be that bad! Catch the next episode, you won't be sorry!
Somewhere in that list or the Hell Yeah list is Ashlee Simpson getting busted on SNL. If it had happened more recently, it would have placed. This was quite the year for WTF moments when "Is This Because I'm a Lesbian?" comes in third!
My only regret is not nominating the Whiteboard from BSG.

Hannibal Khan, I thought Stephen Colbert did the "boops and beeps." I heard him on Fresh Air with Teri Gross on NPR, and I think he did it in the interview when she asked him about the TWIG segment. I could be wrong, but that's what I remember.Plus a vote for the God Machine is a vote for Jon. Since he does the "boops and beeps"

The fact that Franklin made it to the top three of the Inanimate Object category has me almost completely ignoring the fact that House was shut out of Best Credit Sequence. Almost. Because seriously, WTF?
