Some great gay moments in American Idol history:

Season One

Amnesia Sparkles precedes Australian Idol semifinalist Courtney Act and gets Simon Cowell all hot and bothered in Miami.

Jim Verraros is introduced to the world in Chicago. Enough said.

Season Two

Gayest. Moment. Ever. Clayton Holmes Aiken steps into the Atlanta auditions. The world is never the same after that.

Lashundra "Trenyce" Cobbins' last week is highlighted by a "Proud Mary" performance that is deemed by Simon to be derivative of a drag act.

Season Three

Matthew Rogers bids adieu in the second week of finals by butchering "Amazed" to flirt with Simon. He has since gotten married to some woman.

Briana Garcia Ramirez-Rial. No, it's not because you're a lesbian. It's because you can't sing Norah Jones right.

Season Four

Matthew Miller channels his inner black woman in San Francisco.

In that same audition set, Nadia Turner is revealed to be a major fag hag.

Judd Harris makes me wet during the semis.

Carrie Underwood's hair. Enough said.

Add some more moments if you like. Thanks. :-)

Absolutely everything about Justin Guarini's performance of Route 66 but especially the finger snapping and the head jerks.

fag hag.

I believe they're called "fairy princesses (tm Jazz Hands)" now...

1. George Huff

2. Ryan gets Simon "wet" after getting some verbal (sexual) abuse.

Season 2 and The Gay
Audience Member: Clay, if someone were to make a movie based on your life, who would you choose to play you?
Clay: Ryan, are you available?

Clay and Ryan "exchanging" shirts.

Ryan Seacrest and the Ruben Sandwich

Simon outing Ryan's favorite bar as being "The Manhole"

So many gay jokes too awful to be named here.

I'm sure there are other moments I'm forgetting...

I'd go so far as to say "absolutely everything about Justin Guarini's upbeat performances". Watched videos of them in the past week and wowee..the things I did not take note of two years ago.

Gayest. Moment. Ever. Clayton Holmes Aiken steps into the Atlanta auditions. The world is never the same after that.

Ah, yes. According to Simon, that would be "It's Raining Men." He probably can't wait for Disco week.

JSIV and the pimpmercial. You know which one I'm talking about.

The facial expressions Anwar kept making Tuesday night while singing "Ain't Nobody." Oh, and the fact that he sang "Ain't Nobody."

And Matthew is married? The hell?!

For me the gayest moments in Idol are in the earliest stages of the audition tour, when at least once per episode somebody sings absolutely terribly, then flounces off fuming "They are all bitches! They don't know good singing from their asses!" or, memorably, "I'm spent!"

That Lonnie guy from Season Three - the one who was invited back to perform on the best of the worst special - and all of the other gay black men from the Houston episode.

Derek Braxton's diva fit ("They wish they could be as fabulous as me!")

Any performance given by Mario, especially his lispy version of "I Can't Help Myself" in Hollywood.

Any of Ryan and Simon's lovers' quarrels.

Clay to Ryan: "Are you available, Ryan?"

Josh Gracin's first audition, when he treated Simon as his superior officer. I thought it was gonna turn into a Dirk Yates video.

If you have to ask what a Dirk Yates video is, believe me, you don't want to know.

The very best gayest moment ever has to go to Ryan after Clay performs Grease during season 2. Show us that hip shake again.

I don't know, kissmybinder, I think Ryan's overly-enthusiastic yelp/jump after he did the hip shake was the gayest moment in AI history.

For what it's worth, Ryan seems to be quite touchy-handsy with Anthony lately, especially last night. Dude has a girlfriend, Seacrest.

I didn't forget Jim Verraros, but his gay didn't really happen until after the show when he got all hot and what not.

Someone please describe the season 2 thing (I boycotted) between Ryan and Clay. I hear about it all the time, but only bits and peices.

Well now that you mention it dcgal I'll agree that the whole exchange between Ryan and Clay should be the #1 best gayest moment ever.

Only the greatest love story ever...choke. Let me set the scene. Picture it Clay Aiken wearing tight bluejeans, a white t-shirt, and a whore red leather jacket singing Grease. During said performance the geeky white boy attempts to shake what his momma gave him...snort. When Ryan calls him over to the stool instead of asking how Clay thinks he did or how he felt about what the judges said...Ryan with drool running down his mouth asks Clay to shake his hips again (paraphrased). In which Clay responds with a girly giggle and a rotation of his hips...hahaha. After which Ryan enthusiastically yelps/jumps. The best Gayest Moment Ever!

Puntuation marks after the end of sentences are a good thing

I watched Episode 8 last night again with the group performances and now I have to say: Anwar first grabbing Mario's hand, then walking out with his arm around Mario's shoulder after being praised for their performance.

A beautiful moment, that.

I wish this were gay, but it's really just sweet:

Judd kissing Ryan after being eliminated.

That was more sweet than anything, but I think another gay moment was Anwar's 90s interview. If you didn't know he was gay before that, then you do now!

How can we forget the gayest moment ever? Season 2, halfway home special, Ryan asks Clay about his makeover, and Clay cocks his head to give Ryan the look!

Also, Season 3, Ryan sits on Simon's lap.

This season...Constantine making Simon all blushy and flustered w/ his 'smoldering idol' perfomance.

And Constantine's wink back at him. Heee.

I really don't remember what the interview was about. It was more about the way it was done. He was very restrained and then when he said anything even slightly fey he would clamp up again. It was like watching a rollercoaster ride, a very boring roller coaster ride.

This season: Ryan overly enthusiastic about Constantine "carrying the spoon" in Mini-Idol Pimpmercial.

(Or maybe it was just embarrassing.)

I loved that! Subtle Ryan Seacrest humor. "Constantine, carrying the spoon. Good one."

This season: 3.29.2005: After Anwar gets blasted for singing "I Believe I Can Fly," Ryan offers him some comfort, but Anwar's hand lingers on Ryan's waist for too long. Man, I wish I could illustrate that better.

Season three: Elton and his Diva love was Gaytastic!

This season: Not on the actual show but Anwar did say he thought Mickles should win in interviews.

This season: Ryan's heartfelt comment to Constantine about the his excellent connection with the audience after ICMYLM.

This season: Dezmond Meeks-dancer!

This season: I was better than most of those people! rant from fake blue contacts guy/over plucked guy.
