I know I post here just occasionally and never opened a new thread, but considering today is the International Women's Day and that we not only have a Joshua thread to express our admiration for him, but also threads for KS, KH and JvdB, I thought it's about damn time we have a place for these lovely ladies. Taking into account that we love them - but maybe not as much as our dear canuck boy - I started just one instead of three individual ones.

Showing respect - agewise - I start off with Mary Beth Peil. I searched a bit at another site and I found some (old) news here*: The play is called "Lucky Duck" and a new adaptation of H.Ch.Andersen's "The ugly duckling". It can be seen between july 16 and august 15 2004 in The Old Globe in San Diego. The play which is for several years in the planning already is from the pens of Henry Krieger - Bill Russell - Jeffrey Hatcher, directing is John Rando. Mary Beth Peil plays 4 (!) roles (Mrs. Mallard/Galinda/Queen/Leda).
And it's right here that I have to ask our fellow north american posters [scolds]: How could you forget to tell us??? That was not very nice.[/scolds]Has anyone found a site for her?

Then we have Meredith Monroe. I have found her official site and I have to say I love the picture. It's not finished yet, but you can see a bit already. I think her role on House was mentioned, wasn't it? There are also behind the scenes pictures of a movie called "The One" for ABC/ Disney. They shot it in Toronto in august 2002 - anyone seen it?

And the youngest of the three would be one Michelle Williams. Did we ever get the news that she was at the Venice Film Festival?* Then of course she has a new film called Imaginary Heroes*. More info and a mag cover you can find at the well done fan site The Williams Center.

* It's a german site. Just click on the link and look for Dawson's Creek (they cover several tv shows). If it's not on that page, scroll down to the bottom, at the right bottom you can read Nächste Seite, what means next page, and then look there for DC. The problem is the old news get shoved further and further behind - that is why I can't link directly.

ETA: Thank heavens, my post still exists!! When I wanted to post it the server said no and I couldn't do anything anymore. I even had to restart my pc so I thought it's all gone. Thankfully no, cos I needed way too much time to write it.

What a wonderful idea, lovetheocean! I'd love to see how these ladies are faring, most especially MW. I heard about the Wim Wenders films she's starring in and I'm really excited to finally see it. And I didn't know about MM and House (or did I? Yikes!), so I'll be sure to check it out soon. And I hear MBP is just an amazing stage actress, so those in the vicinity that might have seen this play, do let us know how she rocked the house! : )

Thank you, cheerio. Wrt Meredith: Bronwen mentioned in the The Creekers in other roles thread that she was on the show that's why I thought you all knew about it. The post was:

It was a veritable Dawson's Creek reunion on House tonight. ... Meredith Monroe played his wife. I though MM looked lovely and quite young. She had dark brown hair with nary a pigtail in sight, and the look suited her.

And yes, hopefully we see more of them. (Mrs. Peil I'm looking at you ;) )

Meredith did a great job on House. She didn't annoy me at all. LOL. I've also seen "The One". She was enjoyable to watch on that too. She wasn't so damn perky and annoying like she was on DC. Hee.

I wanted to post about Michelle but there was no thread before.

She spent the better part of the Australian summer in Sydney with Heath Ledger. They were regularly seen at Bondi and they also travelled up the coast to Byron Bay together too. They seemed very happy together.

Were very low key and didn't seem to attract too much attention.

A couple of weeks ago the New York Times' spring 2005 Style Magazine had a photo of Michelle among their picks for "style originals." She has her hands over her eyes in the photo, so I didn't recognize her right away. She's wearing a T-shirt with a long, poofy skirt -- it sounds weird, but it was a cool photo. Kudos to her for being included in such a spread.

Anyplace I can celebrate Meredith is ok by me. House has just started here (NZ) so I have something to look forward to. Do you know what the episode number was? And how can we forget MM on Joan of Arcadia? She rocked.

As to the perky thing - for mine it was the thing that appealed to me the most. The perkiness would never bother me in the slightest.

The link to her official homepage is in the first post. Other than that:

Meredith's TV credits.

Nov 16: House premieres on Fox network. This is significant because Meredith has completed filming a guest role for this new series. The episode is #8 titled Sports Medicine and Scott Foley is also a guest star.

Hope that helps.

Just as a follow-up to magfreak's post above, here's that picture of Michelle from the NYT Style Magazine at the Willimas Center website. (Scroll down the page to the "Thursday, February 25, 2005" Update.)

Not sure if this is an April Fool's joke (hee!), but I decided to bump our forgotten ladies' thread for this one:

The-24 year-old, best known as bad-girl Jen in teen series Dawson's Creek, is reportedly regularly attending a weeknight yoga class which teaches poses and meditation techniques for women in their second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

Here's the link to the article.

Anyone seen it? Scoll down.

Have we seen this pic? A pic from behind the scenes of brokeback mountain. It's the second pic of the second last post (Piper85). And under it is a thread link for M & HL.

Now, now, :sniff:, Pop Culture Freak, I take offense to that:

I don't see a MW-specific thread.

Since I took the time and made such a thread. :runs and cries in a corner:

More speculation on the pregnancy from Gawker. They also link a Page Six article that has Heath telling people they're expecting. It's starting to look like this rumour might be true.

It's starting to look like this rumour might be true.

At least it made its way over the pond! Although the dpa is referring to pagesix and well, we know pagesix.

So if Michelle is attending yoga classes for women in their 2nd or 3rd trimester, we should know in about two months or so, right? I mean, a little bit of weight gain doesn't have to mean pregnancy, but if it's an obvious weight gain coming summer we can be sure, can't we?

I was half-watching Extra yesterday and they mentioned Michelle and Heath (makes me want a Heath bar right now...or a piece of him will do) and the baby rumors. Some lady (I have no idea whether she was an official source or not) blabbing something about Michelle's baby being due this fall. I was doing something else at the time, so I didn't hear what else she said.

Well at least this this rumor we will know for sure one way or the other, unless she goes into hiding. Women really can't hind a pregnancy forever. Whereas with the Josh baby stories- we'll never know for sure.

Aw, don't say that. Just imagine IF there had been/ is a baby, it had been/ is a girl. Then one day we would/ will see a proud father of a graduation student/ bride. It just would be/ will be a whole long time 'til then.

ETA: Or a proud grandfather. LOL

Another article on E!

While reps for both have not yet confirmed the baby-on-board story, which is making the rounds this week in the latest issues of People and Us Weekly, the couple have been telling friends, per the New York Post, that they fully expect paparazzi types to "document [Williams'] growing tummy."

If the stork reports are true, then Williams and Ledger will be welcoming two offspring by year's end. The cowboy-themed Brokeback Mountain, in which they star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, Linda Cardellini and Anna Faris, is due in theaters Dec. 9.

Is this E! speak for they're having twins, or are they actually comparing a western with the miracle of life?
