I was, umm, reviewing my SVU tape, and in three episodes in a row: Game, Ghost and Rage, Stabler appeared thisclose to kissing three different male suspects. Or, you know, strangling them.
It's a thin blue line, after all...

That's the beauty of Stabler. You never know when he's gonna go Keller. Or Take! It! Personally! and beat on the precinct lockers. C'mere Chris... I'll make it all better.kissing three different male suspects. Or, you know, strangling them.

And what's sexier: the tie tuck or the legs spread, arms-behind-the-back interrogation room stance?
Don't forget the two most Kellersque mannerisms: The Husky Whisper of Confrontational Accusation and the Menacing Head-Cock of Perp-Taunting, both of which set these little knees all a-tremble.
Simmering Catholic rage.
Thunk!

BWAH! That's hilarious and true. And I'm so glad I'm not the only who sees the HoYay between Stabler and the male perps. Last week's episode, I really thought he was going to start macking on Matthew Modine. And a few episodes back, I thought he was going to put Seth Gabel on his back (stomach?) and go for it. Do you think CM sometimes forgets he's not on Oz anymore? Or is it just the fact that he was chemistry with, ya know, everything?Simmering Catholic rage.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - the money I would have paid to see this.....Rowwrr.And a few episodes back, I thought he was going to put Seth Gabel on his back (stomach?) and go for it.
CM has about a thousand times more chemistry with men than he does with women.

Mmm - that was a very nice visual to start out the morning. I loved that whole scene. The poor kid couldn't even hold his bluff for a minute. As soon as Stabler entered his personal space, the kid was ready to give it up: the confession - and whatever else Stabler wanted. And a few episodes back, I thought he was going to put Seth Gabel on his back (stomach?) and go for it.
Yeah, those work, too! I think I like the legs-spread, arms-behind-the-back pose best because it's pure Stabler.Don't forget the two most Kellersque mannerisms: The Husky Whisper of Confrontational Accusation and the Menacing Head-Cock of Perp-Taunting, both of which set these little knees all a-tremble.
I also like the wall-lean of indifference - used on both perps and coworkers/superiors (see the Cragen hissy fit scene from Ghost).

Hee! And I love, love, love the head-cock. How anyone gets any work done in that precinct is beyond me.
I also like the wall-lean of indifference - used on both perps and coworkers/superiors
You know what I like? I'm going to try to see if I can describe it without sounding pervy. He does this ... flexed lip thing, sort of a lip shrug. Or a shrug-smirk, but all in his mouth. He does it in "Guilt," when Cragen is yelling at him and Liv. He asks Elliot if Alex specified that she had a search warrant, and Elliot does that shrug-smirk-mouth thing and says "I don't remember." So freaking sexy.
Ooh, he also does it in the episode with Sharon Lawrence (Chameleon?) when she asks him who he thinks he's trying to impress with that body (heh). He does the shrug-smirk-mouth thing again and says "I don't know, maybe my wife?"
The MeloniZone is a powerful space.

Simmering Catholic rage.
Word. So much hotter than the whiny lapsed Catholic turmoil of Jack McCoy. Although Sam W could simmer for days and never get near being hot. And whenever he starts with the rage I'm always afraid he'll shout himself hoarse.
But what was I saying? Oh, right. May I also propose his Nurturing, Manly Sensitivity as a contributing factor to the hot? I don't just want to, er, be interrogated by Stabler; I want to have his children, too. And then leave him suddenly. Oh, wait, scratch that last part.

As much as I love Liv/MH and the recognition the show's just now getting (even if its about 3 seasons too late), it really sucks that Meloni keeps getting overlooked in the accolades department.

I know. Elliot was probably as giddy in "Ghost" as we've ever seen him, and it made me love him all the more. It was certainly the best mood he'd been in all season....I literally expected the guy to start skipping at any moment.

Here they be called Pot Weasels.SVU writers!
My take on the Un-Stabler arc is that its TPTBs misguided attempt to help him land some of that gold ding-a-lings. There's gotta be some reason for such an asinine character assasination .. or maybe they want to totallly morph him into Keller .. gawd .. now I can't think anymore.

...maybe they want to totallly morph him into Keller...
If they do that, I demand that they cast Lee Tergesen as the next perp to be macked on...er, interrogated.
Ah, the tie tuck. You see the tie tucked in, the sleeves rolled up (to show those tats!), and the Stance of Righteous Aggression, and you know you're in for some good scenes.
And tonight, they had him in jeans for the whole ep! Plot? I need no plot.

Ha - just kidding. But I will be pissed.
Issues aside, CM/Stabler looked fantastic tonight. Loved the jeans, loved the menacing, loved the snark, loved the door kick.
And make this four episodes in a row where he and the male perp went eye to eye and almost ended up in a lip lock.
"Best sex I ever had." In your dreams, MS/Sebastian!

Word! *I wonder if he realizes that he's known as the 'Ass of Life' here in our weird little universe?*Meloni keeps getting overlooked in the accolades department.
I'm really glass he didn't take the bait tonight and lunge through the bars to get at Martin the Psycho Psychic. Even though it would have been immensely gratifying.

Do you think CM sometimes forgets he's not on Oz anymore?
Usually once an episode, my boyfriend says, "Uh oh, he's got the Oz face on - look out!"
Man, I wonder if CM knows how sexy the tie tuck has become.
The sexy SVU version of the Picard maneuver.

I love that Stabler has no sense of personal space. He just gets right up in a suspect's face until it seems like he's going to slap a big wet kiss on them.. Oh, to be interrogated by Stabler...
I believe it should be mandatory for him to be in jeans all the time. I'm starting a letter writing campaign to TPTB.

Forgot to comment on this yesterday, but ITA on the Stabler giddiness in Ghost. It was criticized in some quarters, but I really think you're right. Stabler was so happy just to have some unadulterated (albeit potentially adulterous, hee), unbridled sex, er, good news. Then it all came crashing down, and he really did need a hug.Adding to the Meloni/Stabler love. I really haven't been paying much attention to this season or Stabler's descent but, one of the things I loved about Stabler in "Ghost" was how happy he was at Alex's return. Between the complete dismissal of Casey in her office, the Backgammon of Reacquaintance and the Smirk of Triumph over Ghost Guy's conviction, I literally expected the guy to start skipping at any moment. My wank is that here's a man who's entire life is falling apart finally having one thing work out, one thing returning to the way things should be. Then, Alex goes back into WPP without a goodbye and I just wanna run up to Stabler and give him a big 'ol hug.
I loved the Backgammon of Reacquaintance and the shrug of indifference for Casey's feelings. And though I hated seeing Stabler actually touch Casey at the end, I think it was part of his giddy "Alex is coming back, we're getting rid of you!" excitement. Oh what a sad, sad letdown when Alex left them in the lurch again.
You know I agree with you there. He'll be up against even stronger competition this year, so I doubt my award nomination wishes for CM will come true, but it would be nice to see him recognized, especially after "Rage."As much as I love Liv/MH and the recognition the show's just now getting (even if its about 3 seasons too late), it really sucks that Meloni keeps getting overlooked in the accolades department.
Mandatory donation to the ACLU going out even as I type Idledeandy's favorite icon caption: He can violate my civil rights anytime.Oh, to be interrogated by Stabler...
There's a campaign I could get behind! [/rimshot... I can't help myself - I'm punning in my pun commentary!] It was great to see him in jeans for the whole episode last night, naked is always a good option, as well.I believe it should be mandatory for him to be in jeans all the time. I'm starting a letter writing campaign to TPTB.
Hee - welcome aboard, Giselle.Wow, a whole forum dedicated to Melonilust. I feel as though I've reached the mothership.

I don't know if that was on purpose, but it was so apt. And hilarious.Oh what a sad, sad letdown when Alex left them in the lurch again.
What is it about the violation of civil rights that is so damn hot?

I dunno...don't want to jinx this, but I think this just might be his year, if not for an award than a nomination. I don't think Chiklis is going to be nominated, Martin Sheen has kind of pulled back from The West Wing, and I think Denis Leary will take the F/X spotlight away from Nip/Tuck. No Sopranos, right? And of course The Wire will be overlooked again, so other than Deadwood there's really no strong cable competition. L&O: Because I'm a Lesbian has sunk in the ratings and comes in behind SVU now, so I think Waterston's out - if any L&O actor gets a nod, it's likely to be CM. And probably Leary, LaPaglia, Hugh Laurie, and Dennis Franz for sentimental reasons.
Those are my picks, and I'm sticking to 'em.

The Husky Whisper of Confrontational Accusation and the Menacing Head-Cock of Perp-Taunting
I have dreams with this in it.
Seriously, I do.
Because knowledge of past obsessions proclude my husband from doing things like watching a Jude Law movie, my husband is not allowed to know about my current TV and movie boyfriends. Because I want to continue enjoying SVU with him, he can't know about the Melonilust.
The subterfuge makes it hotter.
I feel safe here.
