People keep joking about it on the other threads. Are there any sites yet?

Neptune-High has a small, but nice, fanfic section.

Looks like some story links can be gleaned from this LiveJournal Community. Haven't read them personally, maybe someone can make some recs. :)

Ah, the thread I've been looking for since the pilot! I've been checking ff.net every week but so far a category for VM has yet to appear.

WHERE ARE ALL THE WEEVIL/VERONICA FICS???

I have to recommend Juliette's Breaking Up the Girl to everybody. Beautifully written and very much in character.

Anything by Jennifer Oksana is a pretty safe bet that it'd be awesome, but my personal favourite is Where My Wings Have Gone, which gives us a little backstory and a little post-ep (Where Your Credit's Due) story.

Ah, my first venture into Veronica Mars fanfic. Since Fanfiction.net (that bastion of quality - ha!) doesn't have a section up for VM yet, I put it into the TV Crossovers section. Here it is:

Title: They Sought It With Thimbles
Summary: Never let it be said that I wasn’t an inquisitive (and annoying) child.

Mmm. Veronica Mars and Lewis Carroll. Two of my favorite things.

Firstly, vengeful iago, being the Juliette in question, I'd like thank you for reccing my fic! That was actually the first one I wrote for this fandom, right after Credit aired, so I'm glad it was in-character. :-)

And harmier, good luck finding Veronica/Wallace. I think I've read every fic in the fandom so far and the only one even mentioning Wallace is The Way Down by tigs. It's not Veronica/Wallace in a romantic sense, more of a friendship one. For some reason, nobody wants to write Wallace yet.

Also the VeronicaMarsFic community on LiveJournal has some good fic and is fairly active. Tends to get more Logan/Veronica and slash pairings, but it also has some good character studies.

Thanks, MaliaLoke! It may not be specifically a Veronica/Wallace romantic fic, but it has the kind of tone that I like in my romantic fics. So, I'm reading it as pre-romance fic. They haven't gotten there yet, but the solid trust and friendship they're building now will form into a solid romantic relationship down the road.

Noticing Her
Is my own little fic on a Weevil/Veronica friend-lationship.

I plan on doing some more but only if the feedback is good.

Rum, Coke, and Ruffie is another of mine. Shameless pluggs, gotta love 'em!

Thanks, I've already read (three times) and reviewed it. I really liked it; it's well written, convincing and has a great pacing. I hope you do decide to write more.

I think I know the fic you mean and you're right it wasn't very good but to each his own right. A Winning Team. But on the other side of the writting spectrum I found a fanfiction site that I don't believe was mentioned here before that had some pretty good stories. Try A Simple Confession, You Think You Know Somebody, and The Shorter Story No Love, No Glory. Hope you enjoy the fics.

Wow, all these fics and only one of them is one http://www.fanfiction.net ? Color me shocked.I'm honestly surprised people haven't bugged the adnins on FF.N to put up VM section yet. They're actually pretty decent about that sort of thing.

Have to pimp this fic here. SO good and the best Logan voice I've read so far. Snarky and cutting and mean, but undeniably Logan.

Ooh! That would be sweet! I'm thinking something along the lines of Tex Murphy.

never played that one, I'm afraid. I am considering something like The Longest Journey merged with a 3-D game like Buffy (without the fighting.)
I can write code, but I don't have a creative bone in me. :(

Tex Murphy is a funny PI who lives in post-apocalyptic San Francisco in 2040-something. He solves cases by gathering clues, solving puzzles, and interviewing people. The best parts are the interviews because you get to choose what he says, however he often puts his foot in his mouth. It's a really cool game, and I'd totally play a VM version of that.

A Sort of Private Blitzkrieg is really terrific. I especially liked the little flash of Weevil. Thank you for the rec.

And anything by Juliette is wonderful.

I have a theory that well-written shows don't inspire as many fanfics as lesser shows (like Smallville, which has an amazing fanfiction collection).

But I really appreciate the Logan/VM stories. They're all so wrong :"). Seriously I wasn't a big fan of the Buffy/Spike relationship on Buffy for the same reason. Mortal enemies might be hot, but the actual relationship was icky. Fortunately Logan isn't a murdering vampire ...as far as we know.

jeansheridan, I agree and disagree. I personally believe the big Smallville fic response has a lot to do with the awfulness that is the actual show and the fact that it had the potential to be so much more. On the other hand, the Joss Whedon shows are well-written (in my opinion) but produce more fanfic than almost anything (except maybe the Star Trek universe? And, these days, anime). Gilmore Girls is also a very good show that produces a boatload of fic.

I think the bottom line, actually, is the level of unresolved sexual tension in a show, and we don't have a whole lot in VM. So... not much fic, so far.

we don't have a whole lot in VM.

I feel tension whenever she's around Duncan or Logan. Weevil not so much, but they have a great friendship going on. In fact, it's pretty cool to see her starting up a friendship with both Wallace and Weevil, because they're so different. Weevil is so obviously her equal in snark and rebellion whereas she's almost a big sister to Wallace.

And I think Buffy was great in the first three years, but I noticed the fanfic went nuts after year three, in my opinion due to fan frustration.

I'm just hoping more writers will be inspired, whatever pairings they want to try. :").

Hey, I'm new here and I just wanted to say hi and that I write fanfic---for the person who wanted Weevil/Veronica, I do write both friendship and romantic. : ) But I especially love writing V and Keith, cause that's the relationship that really sticks out for me on the show, more than anything. So, off to write a piece surrounding Veronica wondering if she's a good judge of character or not.

Me too. Especially during the upcoming hiatus. I've faithfully done my part in harrassing fanfiction.net to add the category--not the best place for really edgy stuff, but it does its part to make the fandom more solid in terms of fic.

Hello, PMD. You may want to take a quick look at the FAQs (see link at top of page) regarding posting--there's a no-signature rule.

Where do you post your fic? I don't believe I've seen you in the LJ communities.

Ooops, I'll check the FAQ's later on. Sorry about the faux paux. : ( Oh, I post on lists mostly. Is it okay to post urls to the story site or not? And I'm fairly new to the VM writing but an old hand at Smallville. Again, sorry about the mistake. It won't happen again. And hopefully I didn't make anymore here either. If I did, I apologize.

Nah, I was just giving you a heads-up, not a big deal. They just try to keep things very neat 'n' tidy around here.

As for posting links--threads like this usually include a hefty number of story recs--just use the Link button (or check out the FAQ for how to link properly). And mention whether you're recommending a story, or self-pimping (i.e., letting people know about your own).

Not so many recs here so far yet because the ficcing hasn't really caught up with the show yet. I'm sure they'd be welcome.

I dabbled in Smallville fic-writing for a while, but... Well, less said, the better. :) I'm feeling my way through my first VM fic right now but it's tricky because most of the characters have something to hide, and we generally don't know what it is.
