Here are some episode titles at least. I like how they're having fun with the titles.

#1-1 "Pilot"
#1-2 "Meet John Smith"
#1-3 "The Wrath Of Con"
#1-4 "You Think You Know Somebody"
#1-5 "Return Of The Kane"

Don't know any details, but I do know there's an episode with a journalism teacher whose BS detector picks up that one of her students is quoting directly from a New Mutants back issue. I am really anticipating this show, should be great, although I feel a little guilty because of my Chloe Sullivan devotion and love, almost like I'm being a traitor...

Saw the pilot today and it and Veronica Mars totally rocked. Loved it from beginning to end. The show is interspersed with flashbacks to events that show how Veronica wind up the way she is today. Veronica shows that she has balls to spare and very witty on her feet.

At the beginning of the show, she meets for the first time the black kid that will end up being a friend. He's ducktaped practically naked except his drawers to the school flagpole with "Snitch" written in white on his chest. No one cuts him loose until Veronica does. The black kid (forgot the character's name) ended up in that predicament cause he works at a mini-mart and the night before a couple of guys from a local motorcyle gang comes in and shoplifts some beer and just gives the black kid a buck in his shirt. In the meanwhile he pushed the silent alarm and the local sheriff comes and the black kid says everything is cool but the sheriff takes a tape from the store closed circuit surveillance and hauls off the two guys. Veronica in the end makes things right and makes sort of a semi-ally with the gang. What she does to help the black kid is pretty cool and shows her smarts and the connections she has in town. But that was the B story.

The main one set up her current situation and will be a running storyline for the show. It centers around the murder of her friend who was the sister of her ex-boyfriend. They were the kids of Jack? Kane who employs most of the town and is responsible for most of their fortune for his company which invented or pioneered video streaming. The billionaire was number one on Veronica's Dad's suspect list for the murder but he eventually lost his reputation and job because someone else was caught and is now serving time for Veronica's friend's murders. A month after dad losing the job, Veronica's mom leaves. Mom just leaves a note for veronica in a unicorn music box. The present time is eight months after mom left.

In the meantime a lot has changed. Veronica helps out after school at her Dad's private eye firm. She's now an outcast after her ex-boyfriend broke up with her and after Dad loses his job as the town sheriff. The new sheriff is a total ass and keeps telling people to go see the wizard to ask for "guts" or a "backbone". Later in the episode Veronica uncovers that somehow her mother maybe connected to Kane and her friend's murder after she photographs Kane meeting someone at some sleazy motel and photographs the car of the person Kane was meeting. Turns out after running the plates that the car is registered to her absentee mother.

The show is a little bit dark and a bit melancholy. Especially when Veronica recounts her date rape. She drinks a drink that had a rufie in it and wakes up the next morning in a bed with her underwear on the floor and realizing her virginity was forcibly taken and she doesn't know by whom.

Can't wait to see the rest and am intrigued by the mysteries. Kristen Bell does a great job as Veronica and I like her relationship with her dad. Don't know if there will be any changes by the time it airs. The episode seemed a little short. Kristen definitely looks better with shorter hair. The long hair extensions or wig in the flashbacks weren't so very flattering.

Just read a spoiler in TV Guide that in episode 2 Veronica is joining the school newspaper staff.

There, she'll likely post all of her cases on a board and call it the Wall of Weird. Oh wait. Wrong show.

Episode 2 (with *Paris Hilton*) is called "Credit Where Credit's Due." The next week is "Meet John Smith," and so on like KSiteCraig500's list.

But I wouldn't be surprised if this one was actually filmed later, but got bumped up because it features *that TV goddess Paris Hilton!*

Here are the episode descriptions for the next two weeks from TVGuide.

"Credit Where Credit's Due"
Veronica weasels (hee) out the truth when the police suspect Weevil of credit-card fraud involving the Echolls family. Also, Veronica finds herself on the school-newspaper staff, where she puts her photography skills to use; and rides to an assignment with Duncan.

"Meet John Smith"
A geeky sophomore asks Veronica to help him locate his long-gone father, but the search hits a wall when it appears the man may be dead. Elsewhere, Keith meets with Veronica's guidance counselor; Veronica goes on a date with Troy; and Duncan stops taking his antidepressants, which leads him to have vivid dreams.

Some interesting things going on...first, no mention at all of Paris Hilton, for which I love TV Guide, and Duncan's plotline seems to be advancing quite a bit...looks like we might actually be able to see a little more of what happened the night that Lily died, if his vivid dreams are of any importance. And who's Troy?

Troy Vandegraff (played by Aaron Ashmore) is another wealthy student, who will be introduced in Ep 2.
He seems to become a romantic interest to Veronica.

THANK YOU Krabat and Mongi. I thought I was going nuts when I was looking at Troy. I was sure that had to be shawn ashmore. I jumped over to imdb, and didn't see any credits for him. I thought I had gone nuts.

Oh, and Craig, I felt the same way when I started watching this show, that I was "cheating" on a certain other blonde haired character. But now I just see it as an homage to what that previously mentioned flippy haired spunky character could have been.

Not surprisingly, Paula Marshall will be showing up next week, as the guidance counselor. There's an interview with KB somewhere out there that quotes her as saying that Paula's a potential love interest for Keith.

Yeah, this show is the only one worth spoiling myself for and yet there’s not much info outside of TVGuide. From TVGuide:

October 12, 2004: Veronica helps a classmate, whom Wallace likes, after she’s been swindled in a variation of the Nigerian e-mail scheme.  Also, Troy asks Veronica to the homecoming dance; and Logan puts together a video tribute of Lilly for a memorial ceremony.

I guess this would be “The Wraith of Con” then? After last week’s ep I’m starting to soften towards Logan. I’m really interested in seeing some Logan/Lilly flashbacks as well as exploring the dynamics of his ex-friendship with Veronica in this one.

Just to add to the LJ spoilers, while searching Veronica's locker, the VP, deputy and Buster find a black duffel bag and are thrilled - until they opens it. There's a "Cat in the Hat" sticker, two lollipops, glow sticks and a stack of 'Wanda for President' stickers. Veronica says she has a couple of suckers. Love. Her.

Wallace's mother will be played by Erica Gimpel (Profiler) in an upcoming episode.

The character of Ms. Dent will not be around long. Steven Williams is going to be playing an English teacher in episode 6. For fellow Stargate SG-1 fans, he's the guy who plays General Vidrine.

For a teen centered show they are sure showing alot of parents in the first season. On most shows like this we never meet background characters parents. I mean we got, Weevil's Gram, Wallace's Mom, Veronica's Dad (Mom in flashbacks), Logan's Parents, and Duncan's Parents. I think that is cool. It kinda annoy's me on teen shows when you never see the parents and the kids are just stomping around saving the world ,fighting evil, or being attacked.

Good new's about Miss Dent as I didn't really like her.

They should shoot that episode right now, just in case UPN tells them how great they are and then cancels them the next day.

Am I bitter? Nooooo.

Here are the episode titles for the next four or so episodes.

1.4: The Wrath of Con (10/19)
1.5: You Think You Know Somebody (10/26)
1.6: Return of the Kane (11/2)
1.7: Like a Virgin (?)

This may be more of a scheduling comment, but I find it highly unlikely that VM will air episode 1.6 on Election Night (11/2) given the whole debate debacle last week.

Oh, would this be the back story about Veronica's date rape? It would be pretty styling if they solved that and Lillly's murder before UPN gets an itchy trigger finger and cancels the show. (Sad to say, but I assume cancellation is inevitable. If they don't, I'm overjoyed to be wrong.)

I agree with Nit; any station inane enough to preempt for a debate is prolly going to do the same for the election. Looking at the bright side, I certainly haven't had a chance to get sick of VM thanks to all the scheduling snafus. Heh.

Either that or this is the episode where she has sex for the first time since the rape. Sadly, it'll probably be with either Troy or Duncan, neither of whom is good enough for her, IMO.

Ms. Dent is pointless if she's not Who's Your Daddy's love interest. (I thought that was her all raison d'etre until Show!Killa showed up). No offense to SP, but I think they should give her character a grisly send-off and write a whole mystery around it.

I would like the show to cast Wallace's father. I suggest some Homicide fantasy casting with Andre Braugher in the role.

ETA cause I need to go back to High School for gramma lessons
