First, I watched that clip of Patti and the Jock soap guy. It may be the camera angle, but I thought he looked like Napoleon Dynamite's oler brother. Second, I also think that perhaps her contract was not renewed and that is a hard thing to experience. But, I don't think she seems too ruffled, nor does she seem to be worried about working. She could probably get a sales job pretty easily if she wanted one.

Just checked QVC's Program Guide for today and tomorrow, and they Changed something for the Silver Day. They have REMOVED the "All New" tag on the last three hours, from 900p - 1200M. I will not watch but I will check the recent items offered and not buy anyway, I am sure.

Does anyone remember when Patti Reilly actually left, or how many months she may have on her non-complete clause ?? For all we know, she will pop up on another shopping network. If I were in her shoes and looking, I would go for HSN. They, at least, will not fold their tent and steal off into the night.

I can. not. imagine, based on what I've seen on both HSN and the Q, that HSN would give Patti a moment's consideration as a show host. The HSN's hosts are individually and as a group just head and shoulders above the pathetic bunch of morons over at QVC.

I now watch about as much HSN as QVC (although not hours & hours of either one). I have yet to hear an HSN host go off on some bizarre rambling monologue, consistently/rudely talk over a vendor rep, overshare about their private life, launch into on-air dramatics about themselves repeatedly during a show, primp in the monitor, or mumble, fumble, and appear excruciatingly ignorant about the item they are supposed to be selling. I have seen all of that and worse when watching QVC. Patti was kind of the queen of it but by no means did she hold the exclusive franchise. The HSN hosts (and frankly it still impresses me because back in the 90's I thought QVC was the "quality" channel compared to HSN) are almost always professional, pleasant, well-prepared, focused on talking about the product, good at interacting when paired on-air with a vendor rep (or designer), and they focus on doing their damn job. Which is selling products.

With the exception of Ant and a few others? The Q hosts couldn't get a phone call returned from the HSN talent dept.

To this day, and I wish I had a video clip of it somewhere, I remember an utterly disgusting Patti performance during some fashion show one evening. She pranced onto the set in painted-on jeans and enough hair (extensions? or just her own outta control mop?) to outfit a New Jersey nightclub, and I swear yammered on and on about something involving Herself. She couldn't even talk about the products being shown without saying stupid stuff like, "This color is called Peppermint. Oooh! That's MY favorite flavor. I love peppermint! [Calling out to producer or crew] Get me a peppermint flavored cupcake!" And on and on. I may have posted about it here at the time. Revolting, pathetic.

She usually acted like she was on drugs. Not saying she was on drugs, but she was a real live trainwreck. People may tune in to the Q to see trainwrecks, but the dynamic over at HSN is about pushing the merchandise. In a way that doesn't annoy most of the viewers who are wiling to tune in and watch sales presentations. I can't tell you the name of any HSN hosts besides Bobbi Ray and Colleen Lopez, and that's a good thing. I remember the stuff they were selling. And that's the point of a shopping channel. To sell stuff.

Happy Belated to Mama Carpe Diem :)

Watching the H and Joy Mangano is back with the TSV her magic sneakers...with technology like nothing else in the world....REALLY???

One older caller was so excited to tell Joy how she had these in all colors...and how she had AMEX, master charge and all the other cards so she could buy every thing she was selling today....HOW SAD....

Joy then responded by telling her how much she loved her......it makes me want to take an alka seltzer...

Yes, Poni's behavior was so inappropriate. I never believed that Poni really wanted to leave. Her contract was not renewed. I remember one show when she suddenly stopped selling and told us that she wanted to sit there and drink her hot tea for a few seconds. PiPatti had her mug of hot tea, she clasped both hands around it and brought it up to her face while staring in the camera as if to say "ain't I cute?". Poni didn't just drink a sip for a couple seconds, she sat there not selling or saying anything for 60 seconds. Patti didn't seem at all sick IIRC, she wasn't coughing, hadn't lost her voice, none of that. She started to get back to work selling but then she did it again. She said she needed more tea and did the whole "ain't I cute" thing over again stopping the show for another 60 seconds. She didn't need any tea. She was doing a power move telling her bosses that she can stop the show at any time and they needed to cater to her and keep her happy. As she found out, QVC is still on the air without HER. Patti proved she couldn't be trusted to be professional on LIVE tv.

They announced the upcoming season cast of Dancing With the Stars today - still didn't hear Patti Reilly's name called.

Indeed! Libby Floyd was on Worst Cooks In America. Maybe Patti could get on that show and be the first one eliminated on Bobby's team, too.

Didn't Patti also storm off the set once because something didn't go her way? I remember watching her inappropriate behavior with the Clark's guy which was uncomfortable and painful to watch. The episode that stands out in my mind IIRC the AC was out and they were overheating on the set during a show and she kept looking at him all flustered and bursting out laughing with "behind the scenes" jokes that were not meant for the viewers and he was mumbling under his breath. She clearly looked like she had a crush on him and the joke to me looked like she wasn't flustered from the harsh lights but as if he was turning her on. It was very inappropriate and unprofessional especially for the provincial Q.

I think it's obvious by now that she did not leave on her own. Her contract was not renewed. Kinda feel bad for her.

I always thought that based on her on air behavior, which was atrocious for a professional....

Wow, just wow.... I missed the tea power grab. Patti was so incredibly lucky to have been selected for that job. From what I understand, she had no prior experience and just went for it, auditioned and made it. To not be humbly grateful for the opportunity (after the initial euphoria wore off) and to do not do every single thing in her power to become the best host on the Q just surprises the heck out of me. If it had been me I would have worked every minute of the day to prove to TPTB that not only did they make a wise decision, they would never be sorry they had chosen me.

I do feel sorry for Patti even if it all is/was of her making. To have moved across the country (to L.A. no less on the questionable reliability of her L.A. "friends" ... I've lived there and was born in So. CA) in the middle of an economic downturn (CA was around 11% unemployment at that time give or take).... and think the Hollywood Hills would light up over the fact she was there. Nothing much could be sadder and disheartening than living there for a year without the opportunity to climb the Hollywood ladder much less anything else but much, much more talented people than Patti have scratched their way to Hollywood only to have their dreams crushed. I honestly hope something, somewhere turns up for her. It's unfortunate that some people just don't know when they are well off....

When Patti first came to QVC she was young, very happy and full of enthusiasm. She was like a lovable puppy you just could not ignore. Over the years she changed and not in a good way. At first she was desperate to be part of the "in" group, the Lisa Roberston clique. Then she lost the weight and it all went to her head. She became rude and obnoxious to just about everyone. Even Jeanne Bice, who was always a fierce defender, became very cool to her. I watched the episode with Steve from Clark's - she really crossed a line that time and I don't believe he ever appeared with her again. It was rumored at some point before she left on an extended "vacation" that she had some sort of breakdown and I believe that did happen. I really felt sorry for her when she left full of all the wonderful dreams she thought she would realize by moving to LA. You just knew it was't going to turn out the way she wanted it to.

Happy Belated Birthday Mama CarpeDiem!

Since we are on the subject of Patti, remember that BFF of hers Aliza? Well while Patti worked at the Q all she talked about was LA and her BFF Aliza. That's nice but where is Aliza now? Hmmmm. When she first moved out there she posted a few pics. with her and Aliza and Aliza's children. After that Aliza went MIA? Just like all her Patti's also, "so called friends!" Wow she must have some huge nest egg stored up not to be working for almost a year and living in LA to boot. Every now and then I read her fb page and people ask her what she is doing and all she says is, "I carefully planned this move for a long time and I have a few meetings in the works!" Who the hell does she think she is? Does she really think she's that much in demand? Hey honey you are in LA and pushing 40 so wake up and smell the coffee.

Mangano's Magic Sneakers, indeed! Studies were published late last year that called every one of the "fitness" sneakers into question and made several of them tone down their claims; apparently the shoes do nothing like what was claimed and the results are attributable to the actual exercise (walking) being done, the shoes do not do anything for metabolism, targeted spots (butt, thighs) or weight control! Only Mangano, and HSN think they can continue to make these claims; have you seen the rest of them fade into the sunset when they were on TV every 5 minutes before the studies came out? Let's not forget how fugugly her shoes are; if I need orthopedic shoes I can get better looking ones than those!

Holy cats but those Mangano shoes were hideous last night!!! And the word "glamour" was in the name of them. That was the best joke of the night. They looked like something astronauts would wear to take the trash out.

I caught just a few moments of a Slinky Brand fashion hour on the Ho last night and I was alarmed to see that they started the show out verrrrrry much in the vein of PM Style. The models came over individually to the host and there was "hilarious" banter between them as they went through the "oh, by the way, don't forget, coming up in the show, ohmygod you look so cute, no YOU look cute..." kind of annoying crap. Ugh.

Today's Question: Who looks good in Slinky? Who? That stuff looks nasty on the bone-thin 6-foot-tall models. It has got to look unbelievably bad on regular humanoid women.

Jacque did look awful last night especially in the rug. What I cannot understand is why she was only scheduled for one hour, then "Screaming Rick" came on for 2 hours..kicking off the "Big Bonzana Silver Day"? Guys shouldn't be hosting jewelry shows unless they have a female co-host or guest. All he could do is yap about it. If I am going buy jewelry I want to see it on someone longer then the fly by they do with the models.

Jacque said she has always wanted dark hair but I didn't think it looked good on her at all.... way too dark and helmet like. I was watching the Ken P's show with slitted eyes listening to the fake hair chatter and was drifting in and out of sleep forgetting to turn the TV off when horrendous screeching scared the crap out of me.... I bolted to the remote and turned her off! I forgot about her penchant to scream at decibels that will make your skin peel.

Dang! You're right. I just looked at the video. And an unattractive drag queen at that. It didn't help that she picked out the Morticia color either. It looked like a plastered down version of the Elf's helmet head.

Brilliant move HSN!!!!! They are having an all day jewelry clearance, on the very exact day QVC is having their Big bonanza silver sale, but,,,,,with Hsn you pay full shipping on your first purchase and the rest of the day is 1/2 shipping on anything else. It doesn't have to be in the same phone call either!!!!! QVC's shipping has gotten absolutely ridiculous. Do you think HSN knows about Big Bonanza silver day and schedules their sale according ahead of time?????

Pass the TWoP monitor cleaner please! They added the word "glamour" b/c it had "pearlized leather" on the shoe. Probably for the fashion-conscious lady astronaut to wear while driving across the country on her way to kill her lover's wife. It's so hard to find the right shoes.

I've been enjoying HSN's jewelry clearance. Bill Green and Alyce Caron work well together and I watched most of their show. I've seen 2 things I liked and I'm considering them. The rest of the items should be put in a clearance show called "When Precious Metals and Gemstones Go Bad". Some of those rings should have the stones popped out and the gold/silver recast into a better style. One ring 126-443 Sima K ring looks like a circus big top dome of purple and blue filled-in with a mix of scattered candy colored stones. Hard to believe those are sapphires. If you look at the middle picture you'll see the one pale pink sapphire the designer thought to throw in at the last minute.

To further entertain the viewers they had LOTS of callers. In the first hour, one caller said she was sick with pneumonia and started to tell one story but switched in mid-telling to a different story and none of it made sense. Surprise, Bill said they lost that caller. Another caller told us that she had phlebitis but LOVED shopping on HSN. She was perky and upbeat and got a proper "bye". Later, a caller from Alaska was more interested in listening to her own voice thru the tv rather than talking to Bill, so she got a quick "thanks, BYE". The last caller I heard was someone who didn't seem to understand the concept of the phone... like talking in one end and listening with the other. Click.

Did a Q Check, I had to do a double take. Jill looked like a super-hero-hooker. She was wearing a bright fuchsia pink satiny top (that made her look larger than she is) with the batwing cape arms. If that doesn't work out for her, someone could give her a crystal ball and be Madame Bauer Fortune Teller at the next PTA fundraiser. I HOPE that's not one of the tops being sold Monday on Fashion Day! While I applaud her for wearing something different than her usual leather blazer, that top just wasn't flattering on her at all.

We all should of remembered her last day..lol
I looked up it on Google, I knew someone would have posted when her last day was...lol

Good point! I did try to find a video clip of Patti Poni and her mug of tea on youtube, but didn't find anything. I might try Google later.

Agree on the Madame Bauer Fortune Teller/super-hero-hooker outfit. I was trying to figure out what she was wearing and you nailed it. But what I want to know is, what the HELL is going on at the Q with the singing?! I've never heard the hosts sing in the past. Then we got Hornblower who bursts into song at the drop of the hat. Then, the other night, I heard LaLisa warbling for some strange reason. And just now Jill started yodeling twice! WTF! What's up with this? Have the TPTB lost their ever lovin' minds and actually TOLD them to sing? That's young, hip and with-it? OMG! Now Jill's talking baby talk! I can't stand it! What is this awkward trend at HSN where every host calls their audience "girls" as in "Girls, you must get this!"? When it comes from Colleen, it's sorta acceptable. But when it comes from a really young host, it sounds really weird because I bet many of their audience are above 50 and old enough to be their aunt or their mom. I bet this comes from higher up in management because every host is doing this.

Oh, poor Jill! She tries to break out of her blazer rut and she chooses THAT top to do it in? All I could think of every time I flipped over to the Q was my dear departed MIL, who watched QVC with me exactly once. It happened to be a Graver hour and there the models were, posing in their satin "bigshirts." My MIL watched for a while and then said "why ... do I want something shiny ... stretched across the biggest part of me??"

That was Jill in a nutshell last night. Just WHY that top?

I did a double-take when I saw Jill last night -- what a horrible top. She better tune into Fashion Day on Monday at the Q for some new clothes, but --are you ready for this? -- the TSV is a set of dresses from Gravuh, according to the Q boards. As if ONE dress from her line isn't bad enough!

Each and every host has their own "style". Jill's just happens to be that of a matronly, stuck-in-a-rut woman. Jackets and more jackets. Always covered up, in mostly too baggy garments, usually with some sort of sparkles or embellishments. She needs an intervention... not just some time watching "Fashion Day" on the Q. That vivid pink top last night was a poor selection for her stepping out of the box. It looked like some window treatment torn down from a brothel reception room!
