I saw that on Morning Joe this morning. The rationale is not that Nightline isn't doing well in its timeslot - in fact it beats Letterman now and then - but that entertainment shows get more advertising revenue per minute than news shows. So it's about money. Of course.

For the record, ABC denied that such talks are taking place. We'll see.

So, I'm guessing ABC and TLC have the same parent company? Nightline's been doing segments on TLC shows lately.

I don't watch Nightline, so I'm not sure. However, there are some fairly tight relationships between all of the Discovery-related channels and just about every news magazine out there.

Discovery owns TLC. Disney owns ABC. If you think Nightline has become Nightline-lite, you should see Good Morning America. It's pretty much Entertainment Tonight at 7 a.m.

They're changing the timeslot in January. I could care less about Kimmel, but moving Nightline to the later slot will only decrease my already sporadic viewing.
