Considering how easy it is to get completely absorbed and obsessed with this show, I just had to bring up this topic. Feel free to change the thread title to something more AD-specific.

I've had a couple of AD moments but I'm having trouble remembering them. One from just today: Walking through campus on the way to class, a guy walking nearby gave the loudest & squeekiest (sp?) yawn ever (I mean, it echoed off nearby buildings), complete Buster-style and my immediate thought was "Buster!" and, without even thinking, yelled back "Oh, we're just blowing through naptime, aren't we?"

People laughed, but I doubt they were thinking of Buster's day of shadowing Michael...*tear*.

Another example of my AD obsessedness: I only watched the first 13 episodes by downloading them (I caught onto the AD train a bit late) and even though I now have episodes 14-16 on tape, I've dl'ed those episodes as well and refuse to delete any episodes just in case my roommate happens to be watching TV right when I need to re-live the past few episodes. Plus, my hard drive's running out of space but those episodes will never be removed. Never.

Edited just because I had to fix my misquote!

Buster and the sheep is my wallpaper, both at home and work.

I dreamt the other night that I was dating Buster, and my father was getting more and more annoyed everytime he chirped "Hey, girlfriend".

The ice creamery near my apartment sells frozen bananas, and I actually inquired as to the possibility of there ever being a separate Jiffy Treet Banana Stand.

Segways make me squee. So does the thought of stripper cops. Also, I recently revisited my Sims obsession and I keep making SimGOB try magic tricks without upping his Logic, so he gets booed.

I self-edit my cursing, because AD has taught me that a well-placed *bleep* is funnier than anything I could actually say.

Even though I have fallen in love with David Anders, I refuse to watch Alias on the grounds that the tape might not work and I'll mis AD. I can't watch AD and tape Alias, because I need to be able to re-watch AD whenever the mood hits me.

I'll bite.

I know I am obsessed because in another online (non-TWOP) forum, my two closest friends, and non-A.D. watchers, did this:

amiable - (PFID:8e30b) - 01:05pm Mar 18, 2004 PST ( 18247.)

Whose side are you on, buster?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
steve h. - (PFID:92a2d) - 01:06pm Mar 18, 2004 PST ( 18248.)

Justice, as always.

And I wrote this:

Awww, you guys just alluded (twice!) to my favorite show, Arrested Development, and you don't even know it! :)

I'm clearing out the old LPs I never listen to. Most of the showtunes are on their way out, but I will never be able to part with "Gypsy" now. It doesn't fit too well with my currently electro-trash/pop college radio show, but that's the beauty of college radio!

I've started saying, "Hey, brother!" in a Buster voice whenever my brother calls. I've also started saying, "Hey, husband!" Luckily, mr. lawgiver also watches AD, so it doens't sound too weird.

Sometimes, "Michael," as voiced by GOB, starts playing in my head because WA's inflections are hilarious.

I think I need help.

Um...anytime someone says something inappropriate for a situation I go, "Koka, Koka, Koka" or "Chickens don't sound like that! Chickens don't clap"

And then they just look at me. Hmmmm... Hot Cops...

lawgiver, are you me? I've constantly got GOB's "Michaeeel" in my head! And everytime I call up my bro I begin with a chirpy "Hey, Brother!" and he just laughs at my tv obsessions.

Now I can't wait to see him after the semester's over so that I can try out Buster's shoulder clasping a la pre-Catalina-sheep-flashback fear.

I've spent many minutes during Social Psych lectures debating whether or not to ask my prof, who looks exactly like Tobias Funke, if he has ever considered leaving psychology behind in order to become an ac-tOr.

Amen, hermano. Me too... but I took it a step further, cut the pics, made an animated .gif and use it for my forum avatar elsewhere, and my buddy icon.

Wait, it gets worse: I've edited my titel on a number of semi-official inter-office documents to 'Weird Brother of Prime Rib'.

Well, me and a few guys greet each other with 'hey co-worker', but other than that, you'd hate it here.

I have answered my business line three times today with 'Annyong! This is Michael...'

This morning, I couldn't get GOB's rendition of:

DUN DUN dun dun DUN DUN dun dun DUN DUN DUN
"You're as cold as ice!
Willing to sacrifice!"

Especially because I keep seeing Lucielle flail and flip up out of bed in surprise.

normal mc, I love you! I just came back from a horrendous haircut (just in time for a party tomorrow night! Whoo hoo! *please note the sarcasm*) and that Buster GIF just totally cheered me up. It's now my desktop wallpaper.

Glad I could help. More AD catch-phrase-at-the-office wackiness: I dropped 'Come on you douchebags, we're all on the same team!' at the office today. Yeah, I got in trouble for that one.

I just sent an e-mail with five completed projects attached to it (that's a lot for this kind of thing, at once, anyway) with the subject: "You're having a fire sale?!?" We'll see how that goes over. If it does, rather.

And yeah, I've been all about the AD icons. I've made five for LiveJournal, including a Buster animated one. And I know I'm not the only one here who did...

normal mc, your workplace really needs an AD marathon to cheer up the place. Forget the annual company picnic where you all board Lupe's bus and head to Catalina for some team-bonding time. All your colleagues need AD! Heck, all our workplaces and schools do!

YKYOWADW you go to Staples and reply the cashier's hello with "Annyong!", hand wave included. Sure, said cashier's was less than amused, but if he was an AD watcher, he would've gotten the joke.

normalmc, that gif is awesome! I wa planning on making an icon with Buster's and Lucille's pics side by side, but it would've come off too squishy. So I may steal your format and just make two icons.

... the first thing you do when you come back from the weekend is to check and make sure the FX marathon recorded correctly, and you do the Dance of Joy on hearing the extended instrumental AD theme over the full credits.

Well, for better or worse, I'm so in love with AD and so worried about it being cancelled, that I actually emailed my favorite morning dj's and practically begged them to watch it and IF they liked it to promote it on their show. I told them about the marathon and why I liked the program so much. I haven't heard back from them yet (and the last two times I've emailed them with questions, they HAVE written back to me within a few days), but hopefully it'll get them curious enough to have someone at the station check it out. Hey, it couldn't hurt to try, right?

YKYOWADW you have all episodes on tape or downloaded and you are still upset that you didn't tape the FX marathon because now you don't have the full theme over the end credits instead of that stupid split screen that we get during the regular showing on FOX.

My sister and I sometimes call each other "Mi hermano" or "mon frere" and then add, "I don't know how I know that, I took like nine years of [Spanish/ Italian/ Latin/ non-relevant language] in college." But that's totally normal with us. Tiny little references to AD have just been added to our normal barrage of Simpsons, Buffy, Blackadder refs.

YKYOWADW upon viewing the AD pilot yet again (after multiple previous viewings), you just now realize that one of the signs the protesting "pirates" is holding says "Allow Same Sex Marriages at Sea!" and once again, you crack up!
