For Clana, from Clark's PoV - Love Me Dead by Ludo.

Love me cancerously
Like a salt-sore soaked in the sea.
'High-maintenance' means
You're a gluttonous queen
Narcissistic and mean.
Kill me romantically
Fill my soul with vomit
Then ask me for a piece of gum.
Bitter and dumb
You're my sugarplum.
You're awful, I love you!

CHORUS
She moves through moonbeams slowly
She knows just how to hold me
And when her edges soften
Her body is my coffin
I know she drains me slowly
She wears me down to bones in bed

Must be the sign on my head
That says, oh...
Love me dead! Love me dead!

You're a faith-healer on T.V.
You're an office park without any trees
Corporate and cold
Gushing for gold
Leave me alone.
You suck so passionately
You're a parasitic, psycho, filthy creature
finger-bangin' my heart
You call me up drunk
Does the fun ever start?
You're hideous and sexy!

REPEAT CHORUS

Must be the sign on my head
That says, oh...
Love me dead! Love me dead!

SOLO

Love me cancerously
Brrrot-dot-da-d-da-da!
How's your new boy?
Does he know about me?
You've got the mark of the beast.
You're born of a jackal! You're beautiful!

REPEAT CHORUS

Wha' 'bout that sign on my head
That says, oh...
Love me dead!

So I was playing guitar hero 3 the other day, and a lyric caught my atention. And reminds me so damn much of Lana. Pity, such a prety song:

The Killers- When You Were Young

You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now- here he comes

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentlemen
Like you imagined when you were young

Can we climb this mountain
I don't know
Higher now than ever before
I know we can make it if we take it slow
Let's take it easy
Easy now, watch it go

We're burning down the highway skyline
On the back of a hurricane that started turning
When you were young
When you were young

And sometimes you close your eyes and see the place where you Used to live
When you were young

They say the devil's water, it ain't so sweet
You don't have to drink right now
But you can dip your feet
Every once in a little while

You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now- here he comes

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentlemen
Like you imagined when you were young
When you were young

I said he doesn't look a thing like Jesus
He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But more than you'll ever know
(This verse is so Clark, and all the Christian symbolism tha acompanie Superman)

My best friend and I were in rather silly moods and making a series of motivators for the rec room thread and we also came up with a few suggestions for songs for the Justice Bros.

Clark - Harder, better, faster, stronger by Daft Punk or Wonderboy by Tenacious D
Oliver - Stand and Deliver by Adam and the Ants
Bart - Don't stop me now by Queen
AC - The Ocean by Led Zepellin
Victor - Plug in Baby by Muse.

If I can find it, I'll post my Lex playlist as well.

For the Clex, of course. Verse 2 sounds like early Lex, but it mostly brings to mind S1-2 Clark, IMO, with a little Red!Clark thrown in.

--

"Don't Let Him Go," by REO Speedwagon

So you figure that youve got him all figured out
Hes a sweet talkin stud
Who can melt a girls heart with his pout
Hes the kind of lover that the ladies dream about

Hes got plenty of cash
Hes got plenty of friends
He drives women wild
Then he drives off in a mercedes-benz
Hes got a long wick with a flame at both ends
Hes hot

But dont let him go
Just give him a chance to grow
Take it easy, take it slow
And dont let him go

He makes you so angry
He makes you so sore
The wait may be worth it
But how can you wait anymore
When youre wonderin what youre waitin for
Baby I dont know

But dont let him go
He just needs a chance to grow
Take it easy, take it slow
And dont let him go
Dont let him go

--

Always wished someone would do a Clex vid to this one--Lex's POV, of course.

"Alone," by Heart

I hear the ticking of the clock
I'm lying here the rooms pitch dark
I wonder where you are tonight
No answer on the telephone
And the night goes by so very slow
Oh I hope that it won't end though
Alone

Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone

You dont know how long I have wanted
To touch your lips and hold you tight
You dont know how long I have waited
And I was going to tell you tonight
But the secret is still my own
And my love for you is still unknown
Alone

Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone
Alone, alone

TexMarques, "When you were young" always makes me think of Clark & Lionel! (especially this bit):

Waiting on some beautiful boy
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now- here he comes

Clark- Kinks- Catch Me Now I"m Falling

I remember, when you were down
And you needed a helping hand
I came to feed you
But now that I need you
You wont give me a second glance
Now I'm calling all citizens from all over the world
This is Captain America calling
I bailed you out when you were down on your knees
So will you catch me now Im falling

Help me now I'm calling you
Catch me now I'm falling
Im in your hands, its up to you
Catch me now I'm falling

I remember when you were down
You would always come running to me
I never denied you and I would guide you
Through all of your difficulties
Now Im calling all citizens from all over the world
This is Captain America calling
I bailed you out when you were down on your knees
So will you catch me now I'm falling

Help me now I'm calling you
Catch me now I'm falling
I'm in your hands, its up to you
Catch me now I'm falling

When you were broke you would come to me
And I would always pull you round
Now I call your office on the telephone
And your secretary tells me that shes sorry,
But, you've gone out of town.

This is Captain America calling
This is Captain America calling

Help me now I'm calling you
Catch me now I'm falling
I'm in your hands, its up to you
Catch me now I'm falling

Catch me now I'm falling
Catch me now I'm falling
Catch me now I'm falling
Catch me now I'm falling

I stood by you through all of your depressions
And I lifted you when you were down
Now its your chance to do the same for me
I call your office and your secretary tells me
That you've gone out of town

This is Captain America calling
This is Captain America calling

Catch me now I'm falling
Catch me now I'm falling

I was the one who always bailed you out
Of your depressions and your difficulties
I never thought that you would let me down
But the next time you're in trouble
Better not come running to me

Now Im calling all citizens from all over the world
This is Captain America calling
I bailed you out when you were down on your knees
So will you catch me now I'm falling
Catch me now I'm falling

Catch me now I'm falling
Catch me now I'm falling
Catch me now I'm falling
Catch me now I'm falling

Lex- Alice in Chains- Man In The Box

I'm the man in the box
Buried in my shit
Won't you come and save me, save me

[CHORUS]
Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?
Jesus Christ, deny your maker
He who tries, will be wasted
Feed my eyes now you've sewn them shut

I'm the dog who gets beat
Shove my nose in shit
Won't you come and save me, save me

[CHORUS]

TexMarques 'When you were young' really is perfect for Lana! nice find!

What someone should sing to Clark about Lana -

So you think,
of what it could've been.
When time was all you lost,
it keeps burning through your head.
Now you fall asleep standin'
Lie up in your bed.
Watch the clock drag on,
and think of what you should've said.

(Woah)
It's for the better,
Your better halfs gone.
It's ok, you didn't need her anyway.
And I don't wanna hear ya say
nobody could take her place.
Woah-oh-oh-oh-ooohh.
And what more can I say
you don't need her anyway.
Woah-oh-oh-oh-ooohh.

And so you think,
of how it should've been.
And its just stubborn,
keeps goin' through yer head.
You're hearing all those words,
time and time again
watch the phone all night
and think of what you should've said.

(Woah)
It's for the better,
Your better halfs gone.
It's ok, you didn't need her anyway.
And I don't wanna hear ya say
nobody could take her place.
Woah-oh-oh-oh-ooohh.
And what more can I say
you don't need her anyway.

Great American Sharpshooter - Less Than Jake

How the end of the 6th season should have played out for Clana..

You called me up last night in tears and said you
missed me after all these years
But I’ve been waiting here so long,
I’ve gotten over it since you've been gone..

You called me up last night again
and said you're finished with your new boyfriend
Asked if you could come back home- so sorry that
you left me all alone

You say you love me, you love me again but if you
love me- where have you been? You say you need me
more than anyone else well go to hell, where have
you been?

You showed up at my door today and said
my friend why do you push me away Life with him
was just so dull and what we had was something
wonderful

You say you love me, you love me again but if you
love me- where have you been? You say you need me
more than anyone else well go to hell- where have
you been?

No way, you wish! I don't need this! What
makes you think I’d ever want you again? Yeah
right! As if! What makes you think I'd ever want
you again?

I'm mixed-race, so "The Space Between" by the Dave Matthews band is, like, my anthem. But recently I was thinking it was kind of apropos of Clex too.
...These twisted games we’re playing
We’re strange allies
With warring hearts....
The space between
Where you smile and hide
That’s where you’ll find me if I get to go
The space between
The bullets in our fire fight
Is where I’ll be hiding waiting for you
The rain that falls
Splashed in your heart
Ran like sadness down the window into your room
The space between
Our wicked lies is
Where we hope to keep safe from pain....
The space between
What’s wrong and right
Is where you’ll find me hiding
Waiting for you....
Kind of reminds me of what I’ve seen of "Fracture". More lyrics here.

Last week during a fit of spring cleaning, I came across an old Ani Difranco CD that I listened to all the time when it came out 12 years ago. I always loved “Untouchable Face” (if you’re not a Torchwood fan you can just close your eyes during the vid – wait, what am I saying? SV fans are by definition also Torchwood fans, haha, right?)
in the back room there's a lamp
that hangs over the pool table
and when the fan is on it swings
gently side to side
there's a changing constellation
of balls as we are playing
i see orion and say nothing
the only thing i can think of saying
is fuck you
and your untouchable face
and fuck you
for existing in the first place
and who am i
that i should be vying for your touch
and who am i
i bet you can't even tell me that much
Do I even need to say who it reminds me of?
Full lyrics.

So, last fall somebody nominated Oingo Boingo’s 1985 "Weird Science" as Zor-El’s theme song. There are a couple other 80’s tunes that I think should also be in the running. Thomas Dolby’s 1982 “She Blinded Me With Science” may have been covered by female singer Melissa Lefton to become Jimmy Neutron’s theme song, but it’s still my pick. But then there is also Foreigner’s 1979 “Blinded by Science.”

Somebody really needs to organize the posts in this thread into polls!

In conclusion, SCIENCE! rules!!! And Lex is Sex. The end.

Okay, who's ready to suggest the theme song for Little Lex?
How about "Can't Get You Out Of My Head"? (Link is a Coldplay cover b/c I can't stand Kylie Minogue : / )
I just can't get you out of my head
Boy your lovin' is all I think about
I just can't get you out of my head
Boy it's more than I dare to think about
There's a dark secret in me
Don't leave me locked in your heart
Set me free
Feel the need in me
Set me free
Stay forever and ever and ever and ever

MY CLEX HEART SHALL NOT DIE

Lex:
I'm limited:
Just look at me - I'm limited
And just look at you -
You can do all I couldn't do Clark Kent.
So now it's up to you
(spoken) For both of us
(sung) Now it's up to you:

Clark:
I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you:

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good

Lex:
It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend:
Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you:

Clark:
Because I knew you:

both: I have been changed for good

Lex:
And just to clear the air
I ask forgiveness
For the things I've done you blame me for

Clark:
But then, I guess we know
There's blame to share

BOTH
And none of it seems to matter anymore

Clark///Lex
Like a comet pulled/// Like a ship blown
From orbit as it ///Off it's mooring
Passes a sun,/// like By a wind off the
A stream that meets/// Sea, like a seed
A boulder, half-way/// Dropped by a
Through the wood ///Bird in the wood

BOTH:
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
I do believe I have been changed for the better?

Clark:
And because I knew you:
Lex:
Because I knew you:

BOTH:
Because I knew you:
I have been changed for good.

Okay guys, I thought of a better Little Lex theme song: Smashing Pumpkins, Disarm.

And, SweetiePie, here is the theme song for us poor grieving Lex fans: Marco Antonio Solis' overplayed but still tearjerking "Si No Te Hubieras Ido" (If Only You Hadn't Left). Bonus points because Clex is SO Tenoch/Julio from Y Tu Mamá Tambien. Lyrics transcribed below in Spanish followed by my English translation (sorry it's not as poetic as it should be):

Te extraño más que nunca, y no sé que hacer
despierto y te recuerdo al amanecer
me espera otro día por vivir sin ti
el espejo no miente, me veo tan diferente
me haces falta tú.

si no te hubieras ido sería tan feliz.

I miss you more than ever and I don’t know what to do
I awaken to your memory at daybreak
Ahead of me awaits another day of living without you
The mirror doesn’t lie; I look so different now -
What I’m missing is you

People come and go; to me they’re all the same
The rhythm of life seems off to me
It was so different when you were here
Yes, things were different when you were with me

There’s nothing harder than living without you;
The agony of waiting to see you appear...
The chill of my body calls out for you
And I don’t know where you are
If only you hadn’t left, I would be so happy

ETA:

I swear, as Lex held Clark and the FoS collapsed around them, I fought back the urge to belt out Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing".

-Orestes, in the Arctic episode thread.
Yes, let's all nominate a theme song for the closing scene of "Arctic"! While I'm replaying the Y Tu Mamá Tambien soundtrack in my head, I might as well go with "La Tumba Será el Final"

solamente a mi madre
la quería mas que a tí.

Ella que nos bendice de allá en el cielo,
me lo dijo en un sueño
que serás para mi.

They strive to keep up apart but it’s useless
We share a love so great
The like of which will never be seen again

We’ll be walking together until death
And even if the world is against us
We must keep loving each other

The grave will be the end for us
There is when we will separate
And even in the grave I will keep on loving you
If God wills it

They’re lying if they tell you I don’t love you
Only my own mother
Did I love more than you

She gives us her blessing from up in heaven
She told me in a dream
That you were for me.

Here's a song for all of Lana's stalkers from the past 7 seasons. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned on this thread yet, actually.

"Do I Creep You Out?" by Weird Al Yankovic

I know that you
Don't know me very well
We've barely met
But I can surely tell
No one will ever
Love you like I do

I like to feel
The warm spot on your chair
Sometimes I drool
And usually I stare
My precious one
I saved that gum
That you threw in the garbage

You're the one I dream about
But the only question with me now
Is "Do I creep you out?"
Every time I shake your hand now
Wanna stick your fingers in my mouth
Do I creep you out?

Call you every night and hang up
Gonna carve your name in my leg
In my leg, oh-oh!

Something I should ask about
Can I sniff the pit-stains on your blouse?
And do I creep you,
Do I creep you out?
(Your restraining order's out)
(Still the only question with me now)
Oh the only question
(Is "Do I creep you out?")
Is "Do I creep you out?"
Know exactly where you live now
Follow you from work right to your house
Well, do I creep you out?
Do I creep you out?

Clark - future Clark, sort of introspective...

Clean
by Depeche Mode

Clean
The cleanest I've been
An end to the tears
And the in-between years
And the troubles I've seen

Now that I'm clean
You know what I mean
I've broken my fall
Put an cend to it all
I've changed my routine
Now I'm clean

I don't understand
What destiny's planned
I'm starting to grasp
What is in my own hands
I don't claim to know
Where my holiness goes
I just know that I like
What is starting to show

Sometimes

As years go by
All the feelings inside
Twist and they turn
As they ride with the tide
I don't advise
And I don't criticise
I just know what I like
With my own eyes

Sometimes
Sometimes

Last year or maybe in S6, I can't remember now, I had a Chlark video challenge for the song "What about Now". I LOVED LOVED LOVED the entries I got. I had about 7 videos set to that song, all completely different, and then they were all taken down. Someone suggested the music company complained about copyright, but other SV videos set to the same song are still up. I don't know what happened, but I am still sad those videos were lost because people captured a lot of amazing Chlark images to go with the lyrics. They fit really well, especially Clark blowing away the clouds for Chloe. Plus, it's a good song for Chlark because they've been through a lot together and they seem to have trouble finding the right words sometimes.

Shadows fill an empty heart
As love is fading,
From all the things that we are
But are not saying.
Can we see beyond the scars
And make it to the dawn?

Change the colors of the sky.
And open up to
The ways you made me feel alive,
The ways I loved you.
For all the things that never died,
To make it through the night,
Love will find you.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

The sun is breaking in your eyes
To start a new day.
This broken heart can still survive
With a touch of your grace.
Shadows fade into the light.
I am by your side,
Where love will find you.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love, it never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

Now that we're here,
Now that we've come this far,
Just hold on.
There is nothing to fear,
For I am right beside you.
For all my life,
I am yours.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

The Chloiac theme song: "You're No Good" *belts out*

I've learned my lesson, it left a scar
Now I see how you really are

You're no good, you're no good, you're no good
Baby, you're no good!

I miss the real Braniac. *pouts* Come back, James Marsters... come baaaaack!

ETA: Alternatively, Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put A Spell On You" works too : D

I don’t care
If you don’t want me
I’m yours right now

You hear me
I put a spell on you
Because you’re MIIIIIIINNNE!!!

Lionel- i know it was already said but the is no other choice than "Sympathy for the Devil" The opening line alone, "Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste", is just dripping with magnificent bastardism.

Jason and/or Genevieve Teague - "Mother" by Pink Floyd. Obvious, and yet so creepy

Lex- "Brain Damage" by Pink Floyd. A sample line, " and if your head explodes with dark forebodings too, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon." It's a song about keeping insanity and, in Lex's case, darkness at bay, hidden deep inside one's self. I also really love "behind Blue Eyes for Lex, but I know it's been said.

"Play With Fire" by Hilary Duff - If you imagine the POV being Lana and view her as an unreliable narrator then her status as the love of Clark's life comes into question. The fact that reading the video this way conincides with the way Lana has acted on the series shows you just how screwed up Lana is if you didn't know it already and that she can't be the love of Clark's life. It works especially well if the other person she's met is Lex or Bizarro. Or she could easily been lying about another person just to make him jealous.

"Girl Next Door" by Saving Jane - Lana or Chloe. There's even a video that uses both of them to show jealous they are of each other.

"She's So High" by Tal Bachman - Clark talking about Chole after he finally gets his head out of his ass.

"Break Stuff" by Limp Bizkit - Davis.

The theme to Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman - Clark and Chloe, obviously. With some Jimmy, Perry and Martha for seasoning. I'm not really sure this counts, but after seeing that video, I can't help but think of Chloe and Clark when I hear the music. It probably helps that I now listen to the theme whenever I read Smallville fanfic. :)

Mimih1284:

Chlark- Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne

On of my favorite Chlark videos uses "Girlfriend". But what makes it really awesome is that it juxtaposes lyrics about being a rock star with images of being a superhero.

If I didn't have such a disdain for this show and if I wasn't so lazy, I would of gone back and re download certain clips going to tackle a video to this beautiful, and haunting track by the late and great Jeff Buckley

If there is any amount of humanity left in there with regards to Emodoucheclark this would be his way of reflecting on his relationship with Chloe

Jeff Buckley - Morning Theft

Time takes care of the wound, so I can believe.
You had so much to give, you thought I couldn't see.
Gifts for boot heels to crush, promises deceived
I had to send it away to bring us back again.
Your eyes and body brighten silent waters, deep.
Your precious daughter in the other room, asleep.
A kiss "Goodnight" from every stranger that I meet.
I had to send it away to bring us back again.
Morning theft, and pretender left, ungrateful.
True Self is what brought you here, to me.
A place where we can accept this love.
Friendship battered down by useless history,
Unexamined failure.
What am I still to you?
Some thief who stole from you?
Or some fool drama queen whose chances were few?
Love brings us to who we need,
a place where we can save
A heart that beats as both siphon and reservoir.
You're a woman, I'm a calf.
You're a window, I'm a knife.
We come together making chance into starlight.
Meet me tomorrow night, or any day you want.
I have no right to wonder just how, or when.
And though the meaning fits, there's no relief in this.
I miss my beautiful friend.
I had to send it away to bring her back again.

I heard this song on the radio one day, and I couldn't help but think of Chloe, at least Chloe from early seasons:

You Belong With Me- Taylor Swift

You're on the phone with your girlfriend
She's upset.
She's going off about something that you said
'Cuz she dosent get your humor like I do...
I'm in the room
It's a typical Tuesday night
I'm listening to the kind of music she dosen't like
And she'll never know your story like I do'

But she wears short skirts
I wear T-shirts
She's cheer captain
And I'm in the bleachers
Dreaming about the day when you wake up
And find what you're looking for has been here the whole time

If you could see that I'm the one who understands you
Been here all along so why can't you see, you
You belong with me

You belong with me
Walkin' the streets with you and your worn-out jeans
I can't help thinking this is how it ought to be
Laughing on a park bench, thinking to myself
Hey isn't this easy

And you've got a smile that could light up this whole town
I haven't seen it in a while since she brought you down
You say your fine
I know you better then that
Hey whatcha doing with a girl like that

She wears high heels
I wear sneakers
She's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers
Dreaming about the day when you wake up
That what you're looking for has been here the whole time

If you could see that I'm the one who understands you
Been here all along so why can't you see
You belong with me

Standing by and waiting at your back door
All this time how could you not know
Baby...
You belong with me

Oh'
I remember you drivin' to my house in the middle of the night
I'm the one who makes you laugh
When you know your about to cry
And I know your favorite songs
And you tell me about your dreams
Think I know where you belong
Think I know it's with me...

Can't you see that I'm the one who understands you
Been here all along
So why can't you see
You belong with me

Standing by and waiting at your back door
All this time
How could you not know
Baby you belong with me
You belong with me

You belong with me

Have you ever thought just maybe
You belong with me

You belong with me...
