I spaced out during Seasons 8 and 9, so I did not see the Doggett and Skinner love. Which episodes should I watch when the reruns air?

They spend a lot of time together in VIA NEGATIVIA, I like to think that's when they started to fall in love...

That would be my guess, what with the suggested pinching and all...

Which was the ep where Doggett was complaining that Skinner never returned his phone calls? (or was it the other way around?) That was some fabulous hoyay.

From Provenance:

(Skinner's office. Night. SKINNER’S on his way out. He exits his office and finds DOGGETT sitting on the couch in his assistant’s office.)

DOGGETT: You forget our extension? Or you just can't be bothered?

(DOGGETT stands.)

SKINNER: Excuse me?

DOGGETT: Returning calls. Agent Reyes', mine. What the hell's that about?

SKINNER: Well, I've been tied up, Agent Doggett. I just haven't had a chance.

DOGGETT: That's not what your phone log says. Your log says you've returned everyone's calls but ours.

SKINNER: Agent Doggett, let me remind you who answers to whom here.

DOGGETT: Oh, I think you owe me an answer, sir -- and if you don't owe it to me, you owe it to Agent Scully -- on this X-File case the FBI's got. The one they're working so hard to keep us from investigating.

SKINNER: You ready for my answer, Agent Doggett? It's not an X-File case.

DOGGETT: That's why you have 40 agents combing the Canadian border for a dead man that ain't dead.

SKINNER: You don't know what you're talking about.

DOGGETT: I was out there.

SKINNER: Without any authorization!

DOGGETT: I don't understand -- none of us do -- why you're keeping their secrets ... why you're keeping quiet.

SKINNER: Because I know things you don't, John. And it's for your own good.

(SKINNER walks down the hall leaving DOGGETT behind. DOGGETT considers SKINNER’S words and wonders what it is that SKINNER could possibly know. DOGGETT turns to look at the closed door to SKINNER’S office.)

If you go back one page on this thread, you'll read all about me seeing the HoYay light with this particular scene. Though I didn't remember how strong it actually was.

Mulder and Krycek never did anythng. I can tell you what happened to Alex. He's locked in my basement and I take him out to play whenever my boyfriend's not at home. This is the truth (and now it's out there).

No one ever dies on this show, and if they do, it's not a permanent affliction. So never fear.

Here, here, Mulder's died many times now, and CSM died a few, and don't get me started on Krychek...

Aaaahhh, the HoYay. I once made a desktop wallpaper that had a picture of Doggett and Skinner that read "Come on down to John and Walter's House Of Pie. Enjoy a bite to eat from our bakery or simply take a load off and have a nice steaming cup o' Joe. John and Walter's House of Pie, come for the food, stay for the HoYay."

I have seen the light!

In DEAD!ALIVE, the hoyay is so strong between Doggett and Skinner. The long looks and pissy comments...

How did I miss it?

Hey, is this thread just for Waltah and John? Or is "House of Pies" serving as a eupemism for "the HoYay! thread?"

Good question, OLB. There are so many Walter HoYay! possibilities. The scene in DeadAlive where Krycek beckons him into the elevator? Mmm.

Via Negative is full of Walter/John goodness. "Do you want me to pinch you?" And John gets so upset when Walter hides things from him, like Scully's health in this or Per Manum, or in Providence/Provenance with the whole "you never returned my message." Walter, stop keeping secrets from him!

I just discovered that there's a Doggett doll (actually two Doggett dolls).

And the first thing I thought was that maybe this means that soon there'll be dolls of Skinner, and then maybe we could press them for a House of Pies playset... think of the possibilities!

"The House of Pies" is the Vermont pie shop that John Doggett and Walter Skinner opened after declaring their undying lust and love for each other. You don't remember this scene, you say? Oh, that's because it happened off-screen. I believe we have Jessica to thank for the "House of Pies" in one of her excellent recaps, but I can't remember which one. VIA NEGATIVA, perhaps?

So Monica must be jealous right? About Dogget and Skinner being together? I keep thinking of IHOP for some reason.

Finally, I know what "house of pies" is. I've posed that question many months ago in one of the other topics in the x-file threads...but the truth alluded me.

Pie is gooood. Mmm pie.

So, does this mean Weeble and Bob are gay? I never made that connection, but the pie speaks volumes....

Sorry, but it was Skinner and Krycek who had undying love for one another. After Krycek returns from the dead, he and Skinner go merrily on their way. Mulder does end up with Scully at first, but she later dumps him for Doggett and Monica and merry hijinks ensue when the three share an apartment, and Doggett pretends to be gay to fool the noisy landlord.

(OK, I read a little too much Skinner/Krycek slash, and watch too many '70s and '80s sitcoms.)

I always thought Jessica was so tuned into the Skinner-Doggett romance when she wrote this:
Quantico is so convenient for Scully! She can teach a class, and then go cut up a couple of dead bodies over a couple of brews before she heads home. Moronica drifts down the hallway toward the autopsy bay, and stops before the window, watching Scully talking animatedly to Doggett. I was trained as a professional lip reader, so I can tell what they're talking about, even if Moronica can not. Scully's saying, "You can't let Walter treat you like that, John. Your relationship needs to be a priority!" And then Doggett goes, "I know. He's so consumed by work, I can barely get his attention." Scully's all, "You are preaching to the choir, girl," and then Moronica walks in.

Can we talk about all XF Hoyay on this thread or is it specifically for Skinner and Doggett?

There isn't a more specific HoYay thread, so I think this is a good place for all House of Pie-ing. Because really, wouldn't Krycek and Mulder be great as small business owners?
