Well, his voice was really harsh, or scratchy, or something on the NY countdown show, but it was still nice to see an extra 90 minutes of him. And evidently that drag queen in Key West was smitten, too.

His AC 365 year-end wrap-up show wasn't nearly as snarky as I thought it'd be.

On his regular newscast, those fucking people waving in the background have gotten really annoying lately. Were they this bad before and I just never noticed?

I think the crowds behind him have grown alot lately, hopefully it has to do with the holiday travel tourists. They are so annoying, but I think we just get more close ups of him so they can keep the distractions out the shot. It's particularly annoying when he's doing a serious story and some idiots are hopping and yelling behind him.

I don't think AC is doing much talking today, his voice was pretty rough last night. Loved the New Year special, you could tell he was having alot of fun. The cut aways to the home party were annoying. I think the Amazing Kreskin tried to pull him off of whatever they were standing on. 365 not what I expected, but it was okay.

I caught the end of him interviewing Shoshanna Johnson on AM, but when are they going to show the whole interview? I thought it would be last night. Maybe tomorrow? Anyone know?

Same here, but I think they might've told him it had to be a bit more serious since it was a retrospective and a lot of it was about serious issues.

I thought the editing seemed choppy on 365 -- but I was drinking wine while I was watching, so maybe it was just me. The one example I can think of was the thing with Sanjay (of course) seemed like it was going to be an introduction to Sanjay's story about being embedded, and then after the commercials they didn't finish telling the story --- EVER.
The New Year's Eve thing was fun -- I loved the drag queen, especially Anderson's reaction when Sushi told him he was adorable. But I love drag queens and I love Anderson so go figure that would be my favorite part.
I have still not seen the full interview with Soshanna Johnson and my television has pretty much remained on CNN the entire time except when the politicos start screaming at each other. I dread, dread, DREAD the next few months.
There have seemed to be more people waving behind Anderson -- but I never thought about holiday tourists -- I just thought that it was because he is getting more popular.

Thanks Veronica, I wasn't sure if I heard right about the SJ interview since I had just woke up when I caught it on American Morning.

Was I the only sap that got teary eyed tonight during the Nth Degree when he talked about the funeral and the processional to the graveside? As a native Texan, I'm not surprised at the reaction of that town in the Hill Country (the area surrounding Austin and San Antonio).

No, you're not alone. I was sniffling but good during that segment. I also wondered how the town had gotten the word out to be people so they knew where to stand, and at what time. It was really very touching.

I also liked that, during the news about Britney, the chyron said, "Opps, I got married." Then somebody fixed it while Anderson was still talking. I dunno -- I just liked imagining the people in the control room getting all hysterical about a typo on screen.

Anderson was so HOT tonight during the Nth Degree. Sitting on his desk, jacket off, sleeves pushed up, sooooo yummy. I'd get "hopped up on Sweet Lady T" with him anytime. ;P

He was rather hot with those sleeves rolled up --
eta: I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED how when the subject was the desired features of the stars as requested of plastic surgery patients and when they took the features for men to get what the perfect man would look like, Anderson's picture popped up.

Back in the day when Anderson spent a week (two weeks?) hosting the early news with Carol Costello, they had a whole thing about making it a casual show. They asked for email opinions and the men on the scene ended up doing the show without jackets and with sleeves rolled up on a regular basis. Anderson's forearms? Hotness. Chad the Weatherman wearing a turtleneck instead of a tie? Not so much.

I read the transcript of the Nth Degree on CNN's site and was way too amused. But jacketless Anderson delivering the funny, funny lines? Damn, bad day for my videotape to cut the last half.

But ... I rewound and watched yesterday's Anderson and Sanjay banter, and all was well with the world again.

First post ever! /nervous.

I actually wrote that down last night so I'd remember to tell people at work today. It was my favorite part of the show.

Although I also loved his little murmer of, "I could have done without seeing that stomach." It was all in the delivery.

I want Anderson to record some books on tape so I can listen to him while I'm driving. True-crime stories would be fun.

That was pretty good. (small voice)I forgot about that part(end small voice). Plus I think we ALL could have done without seeing that stomach.

Another great thing about the TV Addiction Nth Degree? He didn't muff any of the lines. I always wince when he is in the middle of a really funny or snarky tirade and he slips or slurs a joke. Perfect comedic timing and delivery last night. Maybe he is becoming more polished? Or maybe, because they tape the NthDegree at 5, he just had time to do a lot of takes to get it perfect.

Looks like Anderson is on a new set. Wonder if the waving, jumping people in the background played a role in that. I know some of the background lights got pretty distracting for me, esp. when it was flashing lights.

The set looked odd tonight. The books looked fake and the plasma panel was too close to his head. Still, I agree the flashing lights and waving fans were getting annoying.

Did they do away with the side tab panel for The Current segment, too? I noticed it was gone but didn't even see any other changes.

There is an America Votes promo with the dates of Iowa & NH, and there is a great quick view of Anderson looking up and smiling, and oh, that smile just does it form me. ;P

I think that is the same set Aaron Brown uses for NewsNight, and Lou Dobbs used to use it as well, but he got new digs in June 2003. Maybe they are finally building Anderson is own set! One can hope, since those people outside of the streetside studio on Sixth Avenue are getting mighty annoying. They used to be semi cute, but now I want to yell at them.

Anderson will sub for Aaron Brown tonight on NewsNight (10pm eastern). Rob Reiner and Martin Sheen are scheduled to be interviewed as they stump for Dean in Iowa.

Okay, this is my third time to try this - let's hope it works.

Anderson was pretty tongue tied tonight. I think it's so cute when he gets that way, it doesn't seem to fluster him. Also, I would like to throw my TiVo out the window for the crime of cutting off the Nth Degree about half the time.

Did anyone else notice his face getting redder during the sex story on Monday?

I saw Anderson at Union Station in DC today. I was dumb struck. He is even better looking in person. Thin and very aristocratic and elegant. I just kept walking back and forth like your average everyday stalker.

Anderson was so great tonight; the audience really loved him, and he seemed at home with a live studio audience. Maybe CNN ought to think of making him a venue for him in NYC.

Was that a flawless show or what? I was amazed at how well he did in front of the live audience. He was so in control of that show. I agree that CNN should definitely consider more "special presentations" of 360...it ended up being one of the best episodes since the show's inception.

I loved his snark (after the Jimmy Dean story) about no longer feeling so secure as the host of something called Anderson Cooper 360.

I think what I enjoy most about him is that he does look so aristocratic and elegant but that his actual personality is warm and self-deprecating. You'd kinda expect him to be a bit haughty and conceited, but he's not at all.
