have never been an S&C fan .. actually I hope Carly leaves his sorry butt and takes her children with her. She should of done that a very long time ago .. I just see an abusive man trying to control his wife. He can love her all he wants, but no one deserves to be treated the way Carly has been treated by Sonny.

WORD. And I cannot buy into the fact that Alcazar is pure evil (he's bad, but I find Sonny worse), or that a stolen kiss on the dock of a ship is akin to sexual assault. I think Ric telling Carly that they had sex while she was drugged and passed out is more of an "assault." Kind of "mind raping" her, if you will. I also find having your husband shoot you in the head while giving birth to your child about a thousand times more offensive than Alky's obsession. Not to mention years of treating Carly like crap by ordering her out of rooms, calling her a slut or a whore, throwing glass, leaving her when she's pregnant, screaming "YOU BETRAYED ME" every five seconds when she even speaks to some other man (yet, it is perfectly acceptable for Sonny to give his ex-girlfriend a throat culture with his tongue on the docks, conceive a child with his attorney, and obsess about his dead ex-wife's ghost). How about CARLY feeling betrayed in those instances? God forbid in Pruzaland, I guess.

I actually used to like S&C, but after years of watching that greasy little putz abuse Carly, I want her O-U-T of that relationship and away from Sonny's obsessive, smothering, misogynistic version of "love."

I'm so bitter that TIIC pulled Zander's back story.

Chad and Lane ROCKED THE HOUSE in Jan. And I bet that's why it was pulled. A REAL father and son SL with to incredible actors was stealing the spotlight from..well you all know WHO!

Joining you, as always merlin on the bitter Zander fan side of the barge, where the tequila is being free poured by nekkid Chad and the candy dishes are always full of chocolate and pretty little "candies" from the pharmacy. The dart boards have photos of Pruza, Frons and Jill, on them, and we play Pin the Missing Gonads on the Alpha Males. The Pruza Fave stuporcouple, NUM, voodoo dolls are also available for sticking with pins into (after applying clown make-up, of course).

Actually, after the "generous stipend" siutation, I'm thinking that Lic (thank you to whoever made up the wonderful alternative to LiRic) gets their faces on the billiard balls on the pool table so we can whack at them regularly, too.

Greetings, SSteacher! I'm one of the very few Sonny fans 'round these parts, and I agree totally with your assessment about Alcazar, and how Sonny, even though he exercises bad judgment sometimes, is motivated by love for his family and the desire to keep them safe at all costs, even at the cost of his own life if necessary. Alcazar is just a stringy-haired caveman motivated by what he selfishly wants. "Oooh, pretty woman. Me want woman. Me follow her and take her away." Sad, really, because Ted King actually is a good actor and has the potential to be truly warm, funny and charming (that backgammon game on the yacht, etc.), but it's mostly wasted.

OTOH, Ric's pathetic antics don't bother me as much, even though he's worse than Alcazar, because Rick Hearst is more mediocre, to me, so there's no big talent there to tragically go to waste. (No offense to the RH fans, he just doesn't do anything at all for me...)

Wow. 6 pages of posts in 24 hours. And all bringing the snark.

Regarding the Zander/Liz/Ric situation (I'm refusing to call it a conflict since its so one sided) I found a quote in my quotebook from the days of the BBH cutody battle. Bobbie told Carly "Children are not raised by the most qualified contenders. Children are raised by their parents." Maybe Guza and Co. should go back and revisit this idea, that maybe Zander has rights to his child. Being a mondo-fuckup as Zander is written to be shouldn't exclude him from the child's life. Ric's occupation doesn't make him more saintly than Zander. Like someone said earlier upthread, Zander is Faith's version of Jason, but with a little more common sense. Why is Zander bad and Jason good? It boggles the mind!

Jenmarie, the frontal lope controlls must of all sexual tendecies. Though not to the point that they would cause us to be attracted to another person. If she really had damage to that area Carly would be wanting to fuck everything and anything that stands in front of her. I actully watch studies on this and I can say that it is nothing like what they are showing on the screen.
I haven't watch the show in a long while, and even Jason's brain damage dosen't really make that much sense.

1. Jason has brain damage and walks on water 2. Zander's been written as the punk kid who makes the bad choices on impulse and doesn't think before he acts .. Kinda like Carly.

ONE reason why they should of done Zarly! Zander and Carly are from the same cloth ... both impulsive, both reckless, both don't think about the consequences before they act out.

I truly wish Jason didn't come back, Sonny died and Carly found herself having more feelings for Zander then just friendship. The 6 months of Zarly was pure heaven for me! They were hot, sexy, intense, fun, and they made each other laugh .. and it's been a long time since I saw Zander and Carly both laugh like that.

TPTB missed a golden opportunity with Zarly! Pity .. cause it could of been great if given half the chance.

Me no see the difference. Especially when Sonny shoots his pregnant wife in the head instead of just grabbing Alky off her and beating the crap out of him. Or when he shoots the guy point-blank, not for kidnapping his wife or sister, but because his wife had DREAMS about Alcazar in the come-induced state Sonny put her in.

And, um, didn't Sonny do this with Brenda? Didn't he follow her around incessantly, "assault" her with kisses and drag someone else's throught-to-be-deceased wife back from the dead? Wasn't he pretty much a stalking bastard once upon a time? Just sayin'. No one's the better man here.

Anyone else think that Sage bore a striking resemblance to Lucy in the silent picture episode? NuSpice's pointy nose and the way she smiled reminded me of Lucy. Maybe I just need more medication. I also thought they spelled "villainy" wrong in the subtitles, but I couldn't bother rewinding the crap to make sure.

ANYway, I thought of another scene where Burton blew my socks off. There I am, not bothering anybody, bawling my eyes out while Mac gives Robin the quilt square for the NAMES Quilt in Stone's honour....and just everybody is crying.....including me......and Jason goes on the stage and carries Robin off.

Good GAWD, people. That was some great stuff.

That was some great stuff! I miss that Jason, I miss loving the character instead of dreading everytime he's on screen. Damn tptb for ruining such a fantastic character, starting with the Opie Opus.

I think the Louise Brooks' hairdo really suited Ho!Spice. Better than that stringy Joey Potter-esque mop. But she was really terrrrible.

Word to whoever mentioned LL's beauty in black-and-white. She just looked gorgeous, but didn't seem to get the whole "silent film" concept of acting with your body. Still, she was so purdy.

As was NL, who truly looks like a classic 1920s movie star. It's funny, but I find she does way better with body language and absolutely no dialogue. And no snark intended. Honest.

Thanks Grasshopper, for clearing that up for me. Me no so smart when it comes to biology. Hee! I knew there was a part of the brain that controlled sexual impulses, but when people say sexuality I think about sexual identity. Also I would think that either Carly would want to have sex with everything like you said or she have no sexual feelings at all. I wouldn't think that stupid flashbacks with the Purple Light of Pornography would be something that's automatically triggered by brain damage. Then again it was The Bullet of Love, I guess it had more power than we originally thought.

The whole idea of this as an actual SL just cracks my shit up, especially since Nympho!Carly was totally her MO when she first hit Port Chuckles. Can you imagine her getting it on with Leticia in the nursery? Jumping Jason in the Penthouse? Or grabbing Courtney upstairs at Kelly's? Sick, but still . . . BWAHAHAHA!

Zarly was just awesome. Some NUM fans like to insist that Zander isn't being demonized so they can shine brightly. But that TIIC never knew how to write for Zander and that he wasn't worthy/couldn't carry a SL!

REALLY? The Zander/Cameron back story did well.

LaZer was a go and the fans both Liason and ZEM quashed it. And what sucks about that is that both Becky and Chad paid for that because it was never gonna be LIASON! JIP was the plan and JIP we got.

ZARLY was great. GaP returned and killed it. ASAP!

Nu ZEM could have worked and I bet would have but GaP's other hard on fave, TC, came back and BOOM!

Zander could fit anywhere, and did, thanks to Chad. That's what makes me bitter about Zarly but even more so about the Zander/Cam stuff. That was gold. And if TIIC had just ONCE Followed through on the SL's Chad was in, they would have made it. If they had given a Zander SL the time they're giving NUM and JAM, neither of which have kicked off on their own....and never will...then Chad would have stolen the spotlight. He already was even as the idiot kid doing idiot things to prop the other players.

Zander was supposed to leave in six weeks. Chad is the reason Zander stayed. No one propped Zander. No one created a buzz. Chad got that all on his own and TIIC wasted it.

I'm bitter, but happy as hell he's going.

I have all my Zander edits and Chad got to do some amazing stuff with Zander.

Sexy/hot/tender love scenes. He got to play a teen and grow from there. He got to be a messed up/wild kid with a heart of gold. He showed us true love. Heartache. A shattered soul. He showed us a character so messed up but who still loved with everything he is. Who cared with everything he is.

We saw Zander beat up, and nobody does physical pain better.

And Zander in restraints, be they cuffs or hospital restraints. And he was damn sexy too.

We saw Zander in suits. Zander kissing/loving gorgeous women.
Zander breaking our hearts with a pay phone. Overdosing. Angry. Scared. In love. Heartbroken and the list goes on. Now DARK and hopefully he'll fuck over everyone who fucked him. And it's a long list. Zander never betrayed the people he cared about/loved. But every single one of them screwed him in return.

Chad gave his all from day one. I'm gonna miss Zander, but Chad is gonna make it big and I can't wait.

Okay..I'm off my soap box! LOL

And Chez..I'm joining your party. And drooling over Nekkid Zander! LOL
Oh yeah...Chad gave us lots of HOT BOOTY Shots too! HEe

And the hair. YUMMY hair. Long and short. Heeeeee

Oh..and he made me laugh and cry. It don't get no better than that.

If I were the type to make New Year's resolutions, I'd put weaning myself off of this show before I burst a blood vessel in my brain (which probably feels similar to being shot in the head while giving birth, come to think of it) at the top of my list.

What's going on with Zander and the baby is just the end. The absolute, living end. I know it's a soap, but it still has to be somewhat grounded in reality. And I'm talking about a show that once had an alien from outer space as a main character, ok? That was more believable that this junk.

If anyone has the right to be suspicious of someone's parenting skills, it should be Zander towards Ric. And I like Ric! But what he did in six months can't compare to anything Zander's done in his whole life. Ric was ready to kill a woman for her child. He let Liz drink poisoned lemonade and she almost died because of it. He was ready to smother Liz himself to avoid getting caught. That's a lot worse that Zander standing around in a suit behind Faith, clenching his jaw and trying to look tough.

This all-or-nothing baby plot makes no sense. Why should Zander have to sign away his paternal rights completely? Have these people never heard of visitation?

In my opinion, Zander showed he was a good man by not punching Emily dead in the mouth the other day when she mewled that Zander shouldn't continue the loveless cycle that he had with his father. First of all, that was a tacky statement on Emily's part for a whole lot of reasons. Secondly, her 41 IQ brain is not considering the other side of the story: how is the child going to feel knowing his father signed away all his rights the moment he learned he (or she) was going to be born? I think I might feel a wee bit unwanted and unloved in that situation myself.

For Fan February, I wish we could have a "Slap the 'Um' out of Emily Day". If I could get that, it would be like Christmas all over again.

Please don't take this the wrong way but I LOVE YOU! :D

A big ole Wordity Mc WORD to the nth for your post.

No matter what GH tries to do I will NEVER get over the fact that Sonny, a mobster, who MUST KNOW how guns work, SHOT Alky in the back..in the BACK no less and he's HONORABLE? Knowing that Alky was leaning over his WIFE!

And then he shot the guy again and got away with it both times. And he has insulted Carly repeatedly. Treated her with absolutely NO RESPECT *And Carly understands what respect is. She got that from ZANDER* Respect and loyalty and someone who listened to her and valued her opinion. Then she goes back to SONNY? Carly needs therapy more than Sonny and Ric combined do.

Zander needs it too. He suffers from a type of battered wife syndrome himself.
It's sad. Zarly were good for each other...*sigh*..sorry..back to the point I was making. Or rather, rant I was making.

Sonny does that and he's a GOOD Mobster. Misunderstood? Blah blah.
The crap he spouted at Sam when he KIDNAPPED her made me ill.

KIDNAPPED! Yeah..like Zander kidnapped Emily. DIFFERENCE being. Sonny is a GROWN adult. He had just SHOT a man for the second time. He grabbed her to make his escape, fearing for his life/freedom..I assume. And yeah..poor poor Sonny and his claustrophobia. BLECH!

Zander was a TEENAGER when he grabbed Emily. A teenager who sold drugs but I let that go for several reasons. One...we know his background, HELLO CAM YOU ASSWIPE!

Two...he was SET UP to take the fall for murdering a COP! Something Lucky and Nik did to him. He did TIME for his crimes. Yeah..a teenage kid with way bigger balls than SONNY. WHo treated your wife WAY BETTER! Who dared to STAND UP TO YOU, little man . And so you've wanted to take him out/down ever since. GAG!

BUT. I'm supposed to believe that Zander is bad/evil/rotten father material?

Sonny has the LOVE of his wife. His fears of Alcky are unfounded in spite of Carly's so called injuries.

Zander had EMILY to shatter him/lie to him/betray him in everyway. But he's a BAD guy and Sonny is misunderstood? Carly never betrayed you. You shot her in the HEAD and she's messed up because of it, little man.

EMILY on the other hand did what she did KNOWINGLY and WILLINGLY! I'm not a big Carly fan since Zarly was dissolved. Chad made me like TB. She was way better with him. But I love Carly compared to Emily. I feel Carly's pain. How she's actually TORN and doesn't want to hurt Sonny but she has an actual PHYSICAL reason for what she feels.

EMILY doesn't and she's now a self righteous bitch who not only ripped out Zander's heart for the sake of TWUE WUV. But now she pours salt in the gaping wound over and over again and gets MIFFED when Zander is cold to her?

I'm sorry..I rather lost track of my rant. But I feel better now !LOL

And I won't even go into Ric vs Zander as a better choice for father. I'll just read the great posts y'all are posting! LOL

merlin, Sonny's reason was very simple, he thought that Alky was getting all excited by seeing Carly in all her nekkid spendor (by this I mean on a table grunting as she pushes out a baby) ...cause lord knows that Carly's magic vagina was forefront on Alky's mind at the time. I mean, its the middle of a freakin hurricane, in an abandoned house, the woman he *snerk* loves has a history of postpartum hemmorage AND the baby was supposed to have a HOLE IN ITS HEART. But no, Sonny reaches high over his wee widdle head for the doorknob and sees his wife exposed to that man, so she must be CHEATING (cause she's a slut, whore AND a tramp).... leaving him with no other option but to put a bullet into her head via Alky's back.

Cause, elbowing him out of the way would have been too difficult. He could have sent in Courtney first and she would have beaten the tar out of Alky and whelped that pup with one hand tied behind her back.

ETA: You'd think that if Zander was true to character, he'd be trying to convince Liz of Ric's instability and would be trying to raise the baby WITH her. If a good writer had this, we could see a story of a woman coming to terms with an abusive psychopath husband - with two possible outcomes, the true redemption of Ric OR his further descent into insanity and criminal behavior and the slow build of a really good love story. It has all the elements of "good" soap - if only there was someone to write it..... I hope "One Good Writer" is reading this and can smack some sense into Fronzapallooser...

I absolutely loved Zander and Carly! I like Carly all right when she manages to get away from Sonny but with Zander she shone. He treated her so respectfully, as if she were smart and her opinions mattered. He enjoyed her company. Zander treated Carly as an equal. They were friends to each other and I was so upset when Zarly was killed. I wasn't on-line then and didn't know what to think. I was a dumb and naive viewer. Silly me thought Zarly had a chance. I didn't know that it was going to become a trend with TPTB and Zander. Who would have thought that a character with so much potential in terms of angst and a mysterious past would prove to be too difficult for the shitty writers. And they have Chad portraying Zander. As others have said, he has never failed to give a stellar performance. He does not phone it in and has never behaved less than professionally in interviews or appearances. You will not hear him bad mouthing other actors or the writers (SBu comes immediately to mind). Even when he was not on the show for months at a time he was on his official site encouraging the viewers to keep watching because GH was worth it. The guy has class. If I ran a company I would want Chad as an employee. If I had a sports team I would want Chad as a player. If I had a soap I would want Chad as a performer. Only on TFGH do they not recognize the gem before them.

Exactly, Gibasi why the Mistletoe Massacre (great name!) destroyed what little respect I had for this production. Given good, loyal and professional workers, a company would naturally reward them for good, loyal and professional work to give an incentive to others. It would keep them as long as possible for an example to others and also to improve new workers' skills (as the guy who plays Dillon said John Ingle and Jane Elliot do for him). What do the ABC soaps do? Fire their asses! Prop, fluff and retain the ones who deliver sub-standard work, talk unprofessionally about coworkers and counter the best efforts of newcomers (this one goes out to ALW and her eye-roll of Anti-Chemistry).

There's a reason I give my tv the finger so much while watching the opening credits.

TFGH.

I was watching I love the 80's, I can't remember who came up with the idea of the Ric Rap video to get Liz back, but there is still time. If the rumors of a Liason redux and Liz turning to Jason when she dosen't know what to do about Ric and Zander is true, Ric could send her a video of him singing Biz Markie's, "You got what I need." Can't you see Ric at the piano in a wig singing, "Youuu, You got what I need. But you say he just a friend. You say he just a friend."

Despite a few scattered gems of potential (GQ and bearded EvilBaby, anyone?), this alleged daytime drama sucked mad cow balls all year long.

This concludes the General Hospital Year In Review for 2003.

Now let's just hold our glasses up a minute for a toast:

Here's hoping for a better show in 2004.

And a mighty WELCOME ABOARD to ssteacher!

And finally, to us. That's right. Mad props and Happy New Year to the Undisputed Snark Champions of the World Wide Web.

Kids? Divas? Junkies and alcoholics? Tis been a pleasure. And I look forward to ridin' with ya'll in '04. Let's do dis thang.

Hmmm. Maybe I'm in the wrong place after all.

I just don't get the Chad Brannon love that y'all display. Is he good looking? Yep. Is he a good actor? He's good, not exactly the greatest I've ever seen. I prefer him when he's low-key, he tends to lose me in his big moments. He gets a little too "Master Thespian" for me when he's emoting.
Was he badly treated by GH? Oh, yeah. But he's not even the top of my list of "Actors Most Egregiously Mistreated by TIIC at General Hospital" for this year, let alone for the duration of his tenure at GH.

I'd put him towards the bottom of a long list that included:

Nancy Lee Grahn
Billy Warlock
Kin Shriner
Kristina Milandro-Wagner
John Ingle
Anna Lee
Genie Francis
Rebecca Herbst
Rick Hearst
Lane Davies
Andrea Pearson
Robyn Richards
Robin Christopher

Basically, anyone who isn't Maurice Benard, Steve Burton, Tamara Braun and Alicia Leigh Willis (and possibly Tyler Christopher) got short shrift from the writers. Was he treated badly? Yes. Is the character getting the shaft? I guess. But compared to the other actors and their characters? No way.

Good Morning, SnarkleMavens!

Ah, another fine morning it is, too! lurknomore I think what I've enjoyed of Brannon's performances include his professionalism on screen (by Gawd, he's in character whether he's front and center or back and left) and the way he uses his entire body to communicate whatever emotion he's reaching for. It's exactly the opposite of Burton who's character is unemotional on the surface and physically very contained. I enjoy seeing a cast with range.

As for the poorly treated characters (actors in some cases if the Internet can be believed)....My suspicion is that they are downsizing the $$ cast and technical side of things. (I've mentioned that before.) But also, they are "young-ing" the cast up. (Down? LOL) I'd imagine that not only means appealing to a younger audience but also more actors not on contracts. I'm glad they brought Jane Elliott back. She is a breath of fresh air that for awhile was only supplied by Cynthia Preston. (Aside: Now that I think about it, from a practical plotline standpoint, can they really bring Helena back when they have Faith and Tracy? Wouldn't that sort of tip the "EvilDiva" scale?)

But, I think they are headed toward removing the "oldsters" and adding "youngsters." Gone: Long Timers: Kin Shriner, Audry, Anna Lee, John Ingle (???), Billy Warlock, Flea. Here: More Dillon (yay!), Georgie and Maxie, Sage [rolleyes], Emily [hork], and the Liz Crowd (that age group, I mean...to include Courtnoid, Jason (?), Reek, Zander, Justus (?), and Lucky.)

I'm not saying it's happened but I do think it's happen-ing. Then, again, maybe I'm missing the forest for the trees.

I think I need a CWW, a Hydrocodone, and some more of those Men in Speedos! Whew! Is it hot in here?

That's his job, though! Most GH actors do it! Kin Shriner? Always in character. Ditto Grahn, Herbst, Hearst, and Cynthia Preston... every actor I listed. Hell, even the teens do it! Watch Scott Clifton/Dillon during the next Quartermaine family argument. He's completely engaged and downright hilarious. The teens are like that with each other, too. Earlier this year when there was more of an overall teen story, and not just the pointless and trite Dillon/Georgie/SpiceRack triangle, they worked as a team. They were like a little rep company - you could tell who liked who, who didn't, etc, just by the way they held their bodies. It was really tight ensemble acting.

The only ones who don't engage when they're in the background, sadly enough, are the boring 4, and Natalia Livingston - who always, always strikes me like she's just waiting to hear her cue so she can start talking. That's why the drabs suck the air out of the show. That's why I can't get all that worked up about what's happening to Chad specifically.

He's being treated badly? Get in line. And at least he's at an age where he'll probably get work on the WB.

I've been watching GH tapes from around 1995-1996. Now, granted, I love Burton so I'm biased and the tapes pretty much revolve around the Jason Quartermaine/Morgan storyline (I wanted the accident and I got it....and then some! All the way through Michael's christening.) That man can turn in a performance. He does phone it in, now, though.

What I miss is the whole idea of plots threading around and through eachother and characters simply being friends, lovers, visitors, support networks. I'm getting tired of the "one boink and I'm pregnant" bit and the polar ends of "you bitch, you whore, I love you with all my heart, my princess" writing. I'm either bored or I'm getting whiplash.

I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder cause I don't get all the hype of Maurice Benard. IMO - he's been phoning it in for the past year. He comes across as bored and I guess that would happen when one is bored and tired of the same storyline for the past 4 years.

Mo might have many fans in a fluster and may blow them away every time he's on, but for me, Mo does nothing for me and it's gotten to the point that he's FF material even when he's in scenes with Steve. And I'm a big fan of Steve's.

I guess the same goes for Chad. For me, he deserves better then a daytime soap, he's better then that. It may sound weird to some, but I owe Chad alot, without Chad being on GH, I wouldn't be here on the net or on the boards, or I wouldn't of many many wonderful people in the last 3 years that I now call friends and we will have that friendship even after Chad's gone from GH.

I have the utmost respect for Chad as an actor and as a person, he is prolly the best thing that has come into my life [besides my husband] - sounds strange to some but to those that he has touched - he has become someone very special. Yeah I know I'm expecting that restraining order any day now. LOL!

IMO - Chad is the best younger actor in Daytime.

But to each his own. :)

I would still put Chad Brannon ahead of at least half of those people on the "Shit Upon by the Crackheads in Charge at GH." Why? At least half the people listed can at least say they still have a job, and their SAG card benefits as members of the GH acting staff (yeah, I know, not exactly a prize, but in Hollywood, sometimes you take the shit you are fed. You just hold your nose while you eat it so you don't have to smell the stench).

Nancy Lee Grahn-employed
Rebecca Herbst-employed
Rick Hearst-employed
Robyn Richards-employed
Robin Christopher-employed

I added these. Screwed over because they're vets, but still employed (so far)

Jackie Zeman-employed
Stuart Damon-employed
Leslie Charleson-employed

I'd say if you asked any of the above, they'd say Chad got screwed over more than them. At least they can get paid and not have to look for another job.

Chad joins this growing list, where he falls on it, is everyone's personal opinion:

Billy Warlock-gone, screwed over
Kin Shriner-going, screwed over
Kristina Milandro-Wagner-gone, screwed over
John Ingle-brought back to recurring, so employed, but still screwed over
Anna Lee-gone, we think, and heartbroken
Genie Francis-gone by her own decision due to hubby's job and Jill's bitchiness
Lane Davies-going, screwed over, basically never given a chance for a decent storyline
Andrea Pearson-screwed over, never given a shot

A few addtions to the list from 2003:

Coltin Scott Martines-screwed over when Guza's hard on came back
Real Andrews-now employed on a much better soap, but still needs more airtime

As far as I'm concerned, being fired because you're too good and are stealing airtime from the Drab Four, which pisses off the egos of the Alpha Two (theory, not proven, but I have no trouble beliving it), when they see your lines longer than their's at fan events, means you were treated like shit. I put Chad toward the top.

One thing I wholeheartedly agree with, lurknomore, is that unless your name is MB, TB, SB, ALW, and also TC or NL, you have NO CHANCE for a decent story, your character will either be assasinated or disappear without explanation and you can be fired without warning, no matter how strong your fanbase is.

My wish/resolution for GH 2004? To celebrate the firings of Guza, Pratt, Frons and Phelps. Grow some gonads, ABC....DO IT!

That's a great point, chezhdchick. At least Hearst, Grahn, Herbst, etc. are still employed, and do have the slim hope of outlasting the idiots who currently run GH. Andrea Pearson was on my list, though. On the other hand, Chad's getting better material by far than most of them were, and since he's leaving, does he care if the character is trashed? Probably not. Meanwhile, Alexis, Ric and Liz are running out of room to manouver, and may not survive a new head writer trying to deal with the wreckage.

I have to disagree on Coltin Scott Martines, simply because I thought he was truly terrible as Nikolas Cassadine. I hated his Nik, and was truly thrilled when Tyler agreed to come back. Tyler Christopher was and is my Princely Baby, even though his pairing with Emily/Natalia is starting to kill his luster for me a bit. If they put him with Robin Christopher or Rebecca Herbst I'd be back on the Nik love train.

What? I think Skye/Nik would be great. And if Liz does need to be rescued the next time Ric goes cuckoo for cocoa puffs, it might as well be by Nik.

I dislike the way all the relationships are so one note. There's no "I hate your guts but you're the baby's daddy so I'll be civil and I'll even admit that you're a pretty good father" or "I love you but you gotta understand, I used to be in love with him and I still have feelings for him and I'll always care about him." It's either "I love you, so when can we have that operation that'll join us at the hip?" or "I hate you so do me a big favor and die so I won't have to ever see you face again."

As for Sonny, as long as he uses the passive voice in regards to Carly's bullet to the brain, he's not taking responsibility, in my opinion. It's "Carly got shot" or "Carly got injured". I want Sonny admit that he was the cause. I want to hear him say, "I shot my wife and put her in a coma." I won't even mind if he qualified the statement.

"I accidently shot my wife in the head."

"Guns are bad, Michael. Remember how I accidently put Mommy in a coma when I shot her?"

"I shot my wife once. It was an accident though. I was really trying to kill Alcazar."

I also fully expect Carly to say, three years from now when the Anti-Christ is 15 and wrecking havoc all over the city, "I gave birth to the Anti-Christ" not "The Anti-Christ was birthed by me."

It's called active voice, "writers". You should have learned what that was before you decided to go into "writing" as a career.
