ITA about Josh. I think the rumors about CK1 not wanting Josh there are just petty. The man has had to be comfortable with his girlfriend kissing her ex-boyfriend many, many times in the past 4 years. Hell, KH & CK1 got togehter during the filming of S3. And think about how much Joey-Pacey mackage occurred in S4. If CK1 is even halfway confident, he won't give two shits about Josh being there. Plus, if he's really that threatened, I don't think this marriage will last long. How will he feel about his wife being the breadwinner?

I forgot that Kerr & Harmoni were such good friends to Katie and Chris, but I agree that they'll be there. The only reason I was thinking Nina might be there is 'cause I would assume Katie is the regular cast member that she was closest too. Just like I'd assume MBP would be a MW's wedding, if it were happening.

I wonder when the wedding is gonna be. Hmm...

Right, PCF - it's hard to imagine this rumor being true considering I don't remember ever hearing any gossip that he was jealous when she was hundreds (thousands) of miles away from him living in the Wilmington bubble with Josh. You'd think, if jealousy was that much of a factor, something would have been brewing then. And if it really is true, that marriage is starting off on a bit of a shaky start, considering what Katie does for a living.

Now, in the KH thread, there's an article about how CK1 spent $500k on Katie's ring. Half a million? How big is that puppy? Yikes! Which leads to my next inevitable question: To prenup or not to prenup? Katie's gotta have a bigger bank account already than he does, and I think her future prospects, at least right now, seem a whole lot wider and brighter.

Eh, I personally think that a prenup would be something to think about for other celebs, but not this couple. I personally think that if Katie felt that he was a "golddigger"-esque/take all my money kind of guy, should wouldn't have stuck it out so long, nor said yes. Five years is a lot of time to be with someone, not to mention live with them. You tend to pick up some things eventually. ;)

And WORD! to Josh going to her wedding. What a bunch of crap to peeps thinking that CK1 couldn't handle him. I remember seing them in Wilmy and even snapped a photo of Josh greeting Katie who was with Chris, and gave her a kiss on the cheek, and shook Chris' hand. I honestly think it was all cool there come season six.

Her and Josh were/are pretty close, and I couldn't imagine him not attending. Sans Beek, Josh was at all the other weddings, Kerr's, Meredith's - other crew. I'm sure this will be no exception. :)

But man, I still can't believe the dough that boy forked over for that ring. That's some serious bling, bling there. I hope her fragile frame can hangle a rock of that size. ;)

Prenups: I would doubt they'd get one, too, *but* I think when there's serious $$ involved, as there would be for a Hollywood couple, it's always a consideration. It's not about gold-digging, it's more about if things don't work out, bitter feelings could insue.

The whole Josh thing: I have such a hard time believing that Chris would feel threatened at this point at all. Though, I could see where/why a rumor like this would exist, considering a couple of articles about the engagement mentioning the "Katie called JJ her first love" angle.

I noticed that article about the $$ price of the ring was from a UK paper. Sometimes those publications tend to be less than accurate. Just wondering, b/c that is not just serious bucks, that's almost in the realm of unbelievable!

ETA: All this wedding talk caused me to have a dream last night that Josh announced he was getting married in April. I don't know to who, I just very vividly remember it was going to be April. Of this year. Not like 2014! ;-) I woke up laughing and thinking I had imbibed just a wee bit too much last night!

ITA. I think the man is probably more secure than this rumor would make him seem. I'm sure he wouldn't tell Katie she couldn't invite Josh and James.

As for the prenup, I don't know. I think anytime you're dealing with hundreds of thousands or million dollars, you get a prenup. In other words, I agree with ScarletGirl. Even if you love someone, it's okay to protect yourself.

ETA It will be a sad, sad day for all of us when Josh gets engaged. Let's all just be happy that as of now he's not seriously involved. We've still got a chance! :) I'm sure Mr. PCF would love to read that! Ha!

pretzels, we were just speculating as this was a story in a UK paper back a few months ago. That's what the thread is for, right? :-)

PCF, I have a very good friend who went thru a divorce last year (after almost 10 years of marriage) and because she made considerable more money than he did, she got hosed in the settlement. And I'm talking small potatoes compared to Hollywood standards! And isn't Katie's dad a divorce attorney, ironically? I'm just saying, a prenup might not be out of the question.

As to Josh, admittedly knowing nothing about his romantic life, per se, I'd be quite surprised if he was walking down the aisle anytime soon. He's only 25 and, as far as we know, not in a serious relationship right now.

But should he suddenly get married this April, let's remember who called it! ;-)

Yeah, I think the rumor about CK1 is probably bullshit. Either way, it's fun to talk about! :)

As for the prenup, I think you're right that Katie's dad is a divorce lawyer. I think in Hollywood, prenups are probably the name of the game. Stars likely don't even get offended when asked to sign one! They'd want one too! Too bad about your friend ScarletGirl. Divorce is such a hard thing to go through on it's own, but losing a lot of hard-earned money when you feel it's unjustified makes it that much worse.

I also agree about Josh. Sounds like he got close with Rosario, but other than that he's gotten no where near that preverbial aisle.

What an amazing thread, god imagine if someone made a (tv)movie or wrote a trashy book about what really happened. That would be interesting.....theres me using Dawsons Creek as a reminder of how pure and innocent life can be (cos life in the biggest capital city in the world can sometimes make you feel dirty and sordid ), and it really is a massive cosy whitewash. Anyways spent a long time enjoying this thread, and it hasn't really effected my post modern lurve of the beauty of Dawsons Creek. However will never be able to look at idlyic beauty that is the location that Beek's/Jens Gram's house's is on, without reality ripping it to threads with the thought of the huge Sewer pipe behind them-reality sucks!!!
Where exactly is the location-it's not Wilmington is it? It's not mentioned as being there. And Does anyone know if there are still Dawsons tours in Wilmington? Is there a FAQ on any site which has all the locations used in Dawsons? The books are quite vague.

I'm having a pretty crappy week so far, so I thought that I would travel back in time to the Summer of 2003 hoping that all of this would make me feel better. I went all the way back to the beginning of this thread to re-live the drugs, the manwhore stuff, the general asshole that is the Beek, and the freak that is Katie Holmes. Our lovely gossip, scintillo, has removed all the trashy goodness except for one true gem.....

Re: Katie's rock. Seeing the pic of it (far off as it is) makes me think perhaps that price isn't too far off. I don't know, though, it looks a little gaudy to me, almost like it's too big for her hand!

In fact in July while I was backpacking in Europe whenever my friend and I managed to find an internet cafe I would look up this thread.

All right, katty, I'll step up to the plate! Katie looks great in that picture and, in general, has been looking wonderful since she decided to start eating again. Looking at S5 and S6 Katie is painful because she had become wraith-like. Wasn't it the highly-esteemed Jessica who suggested in a recap that Katie needed to eat a sandwich?

I'm not suggesting an eating disorder, as her weight loss might just have been the result of exhaustion, filming DC and multiple movies and all. Whatever the reason, she was looking terrible. I hate the current fixation on female thinness. One of my 13-year olds, who needs to lose ten pounds or so, came in last night asking about gastric bypass surgery. Holy shit!!

Okay, I have a question about some gossip I think I read here, so if you would indulge me that would be wonderful :).

Now, I remember reading this whole thread way way back in the day, back before scintillo's amazingly hilarious gossip was edited and I'm sure I read something about how Katie Holmes had very bad dental hygeine and whenever she had a romantic scene, it was rather ewwy for her co-stars. Now, onto the question. Did I actually read this here, or did I dream it? 'Cause I've dreamt stuff that I thought was real before, and yeah, its gotten me in trouble.

Some confirmation that I did, in fact, read it here would be excellent, if someone would be so kind. I'm not going to, you know, use the gossip for evil or anything. Email's in my profile if you dont want to reply here.
