I thought so, too. Except for the ice rink, which WAS a cute idea, they made that room unusable. Even to make the mini-town functional [like hiding storage] would have been better than setting up a store display, which is basically what they did.Wouldn't it have been a lot smarter to have that stuff outside?

Also, I can't believe I cried watching Monster House, of all things.

My curiosity has been piqued.
eta: Thanks for all those who said that Monster Garage did the same thing.

The house itself was cool. Funky, but still livable.

The HOs loved it and have kept almost everything the same.

And the outdoor equipment was just fab (maybe even overkill), but I worry about the elements and the damage to the electronics. It did tuck all away, out of sight, right? Like, the answer to that question determines if I'm going to rush right out and buy one! heh.

At least now we know—we can just tune in to the "revisited" episodes during the last five minutes.

I mean really, that was just poorly conceived idea.

Is it just me, or are these HO updates not very interesting?
It's not just you... although, I hadn't seen the tiki house (or whatever they called it) or the race car house, so they were new eps for me! I got on the Monster House bandwagon a bit late.

I wonder what other projects never got airtime.

But it was nice to see a crew that worked together so well with minimal conflict. And good for them, getting the night on the town for finishing early!

We got on the show because I get what I want.
Another crew [was it Zen house?] also got on famously; IIRC they finished a whole day early! They even did the interior design after completing the build!

Did anyone catch the repeat of the Wild West House? The inept electrician reminded me so much of Boomhauer from King of the Hill.

We got on the show because I get what I want. But I'm also a game-show queen. I have been on 12 shows: Wheel of Fortune, Who Knows You Best? (with my sister), The Newlywed Game (twice — don't ask), Shop 'Til You Drop (with Chris), Supermarket Sweep (with Chris), Beat the Geeks, Match Game (twice), Family Feud and $100,000 Pyramid. I love seeing myself on camera. I tried to be an actress many years ago, and when that didn't work out I started doing game shows.
I'm shocked American Idol isn't in that list. Good god was she annoying as hell. She doesn't deserve that good of a design.
BTW, when they said they were recreating bourbon street, did anyone immediately think of the Christmas Episode? I thought for sure there would be a model town in the room before they did the CGI design walkthrough.

Also, did you see how spastic she got when they revealed the karaoke machine? I thought she was going to kill her poor dog with all that jumping.
You & me both! I hope there isn't a dog version of shaken baby syndrome because that poor thing will surely be braindamaged now. I hope he got his revenge later by pissing all over her bed or something.
Well, if MH is willing to go to Vegas, maybe there's hope yet that they'll drop on down to San Diego so I can apply :) Well, after I decide I could take knowing TWoP'ers would be commenting on me :)

They really need to start giving the build team a better reward; more tools, or money, or something.
