The very last image we see are four people running through a tunnel. They are shadowed, but I know it to be the Bransens.

I believe that image was shown in episode 4, where they go to Talledega. And yes, it's the Bransens.

From what I have seen, all contestants return to race attire at the final.

No, not usually. I remember seeing other teams wearing some strange duds they apparently bought at sequesterville.

However, that would bring up the point that if the Godlewskis get Philiminated next week, then they could still be in their race attire at the mat. Only teams Philiminated in the first 9 legs (or 9 segments) go to Sequesterville, which means that everyone else wouldn't have time to buy anything since they'll be on the way to End City.

You are correct, that was the Bransens at Talledega.

TAR 9 final ep. spoilage! ---

According to a poster on another board,

Two guys, mid-20's, matching grey sweaters and blue adidas shoes, camera/sound crew in tow, seen running through the Anchorage, Alaska airport Friday evening (12/2), trying to catch a Northwest Airlines flight to Denver.

As per the usual TAR filming schedule, this should be the final race to the mat, and these guys could be one of our final three teams.

Is the finish in Denver? Or is it a connection to elsewhere? Either way, if you're out on Saturday, keep your eyes open!

It's a pretty tough call. I don't think that they would end right where they started (at least I would think that they'd do that for TAR11). This might be a decoy. Then again, since people are often hanging out around the airports around this time, no one would think that they'd hit the same city that the race started in.

Like you said, it could be a connection to someplace else, possibly in New Mexico, Vegas, somewhere else in Nevada, or Southern California.

Except it was done in both TAR1 and TAR6. So there is the possibility.

Figures that I am stuck at work today! The race took off from here and I was stuck at work. Now it looks like the race is finishing here and I am stuck here.

If I had more time I would call some places to see if they are "closed for filming". Places I would suggest checking are.

The Molly Brown house. It's well known, but not that easy to find unless your cabby already knows it. Red Rocks Theater/Park and or Cherry Creek State park. I would put my money on one of those two as being the finish mat.

Back to work... Sigh.

I know, but I used TAR11 as an example due to a possible pattern of TAR starting and ending in the same city every 5 Amazing Races.

I did some detective work and called Red Rocks. I should not have bothered, the Red Rocks Online website practicly gives it away and the gal I talked to paused when I mentioned TAR by name. Then just repeated it was closed for a "private function" from 6am to noon.

From the web site.

Amphitheatre to be Closed this Saturday

Due to a private function, the Amphitheatre and Visitor Center will be closed to the public this Saturday morning, December 3, 2005. The Amphitheatre will reopen at approximately Noon. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Nice work DEdwards. Bummer on having to work.

Did anyone get a chance to gt out there to verify this and that the racers coming out of Ancorage weren't just a decoy? Is it truly the finish line???

I called a friend in DEN, but she didn't answer her cell (what the hell is the thing for if you can't call people when you want to speak to them?)

We used to go to Red Rocks all the time when I was a kid--and they had the coolest sign: "30 minute climb, 3 second drop." I think that the sign was no joke--people did fall off from time to time. I know it's off topic, but Red Rocks nostalgia...sniff...I miss home. It would be totally cool if Denver is the finish line--I hope that it's true, and if it is, I can't wait to see it! Heck even it's just a pit stop, I'm happy.

Found on a different forum Amazing Race crew and teams running around Kansas City on December 1st. BlogKC

From what I remember didnt Merideth and Gretchen say they were in Dallas/Ft Worth the day before the real finish trying to do a decoy run?

I actually think this could point more to Denver being the true finish city. It would be really easy to fly the team that finished 4th to KC and then to Denver to be present for the finish.

The now if we can just find more info about the team that was seen in KC. Might be able to figure out who placed 4th.

To add to the sightings over the last week, Phil was on a flight from Japan to Seattle last Thursday, 12/1. Makes sense from everything else we've heard.

I used to live in KC and I would be shocked if it was the finish city, or even a city they passed through outside the airport. But anything is possible.

If they were indeed going to KC, their world-famous (or at least that's how they always promoted it) Plaza with all the fountains would certainly be the place to go. If only I had known--my mom lives there and I could have sent her down to spy for us.

I wouldn't be surprised if KC were a finish-mat city. In fact, I think it would be great for the same reason St. Louis makes for a great finish-mat city. Those of us that live here know that it's almost impossible to get a direct flight to St. Louis from overseas destinations. That could add to the drama of finding the best, quickest, earliest flights when it is most crucial.

On another note...

Judging from all the spoiler information we're getting about TAR9, does anyone sense that this race will have a route similar to TAR2? That race pretty much stayed in the southern hemisphere (South America, Africa, Southeast Asia, Australia) and a few places in the northern hemisphere (Alaska), bypassing Europe altogether. That would be nice, considering that TAR4 and TAR6 were very Europe-heavy.

Furthermore, the locations that have been popping up as spoilers are simliar to a few locations visited near to and at the end of TAR2 (especially Australia and Alaska).

I'd bet on a southern hemisphere-centric race. TAR tends to stick to wherever it's summer, with obvious occasional forays into colder climates for variety's sake. Given the November-December filming schedule, a southern race makes sense.

I know this doesn't have anything to do with Spoilers - but just a thought....

Can we start a new thread for TAR9 instead of posting them with TAR8FA... Any thoughts?

Sorry if I overstepped any boundries.

I've just been thinking back to the Niagra Falls spoilers that were posted before TAR8 began. We now know that the Amazing Clue Box has the same color flags as the ones they are using in the current race - but the report of the team with the out of shape mother with kids has to refer to a decoy team. There arent any out of shape mothers left, unless you're referring to Mama Weaver's intellectual capacity...

but the report of the team with the out of shape mother with kids has to refer to a decoy team

When I hear "out of shape mother" the first one who comes to mind is Ma Paolo. Seeing as how they were the next to last team eliminated, it makes sense that they would be one of the decoy teams.

However:

I also remember a spolier from the summer at Niagara Falls that had three females, one that looked like a mom, and a young teenage boy

Is this the description you are referring to? If so then it must have been the Weavers. I mean, Ma Weaver is probably in better shape than Ma Paolo but might have been doing some huffing and puffing after running far or something which brought on the epithet. Anyway if this is true it seems to confirm that the Weavers are in the final three. Or else they are a decoy team. So . . . never mind.

My cable listings have this description of tonight's episode:

One teammates' performance overwhelms the rest of the family and gets them out of a potential jam.

I'm thinkin the "potential jam" may refer to the Weavers getting busted by the cop, but can't imagine what "performance" could get them out of trouble. Also, in the title "Family Christmas Card" there is no misspelling of "Family" as I had seen people speculating about earlier. I'm more inclined to think that was just a misspelling on whatever site that originally came from.

Being able to turn on the tears got my sister out of trouble for years, and it was always a performance.

BTW, it works with cops, parents, teachers, and any other authority figures you can think of.

PS-- It only works for girls, so guys, DON'T try it.

Yeah, I thought of that, but I guess it was the word "overwhelmed" that threw me off. I could see the family being impressed if one of the girls got them out of trouble by crying, but "overwhelm[ing] the rest of the family" just seems like an odd way to put it, which made me think there was more involved. Of course, the Weavers are such a nightmare that who knows what one of them will do or how the rest will react?

When looking at that "overwhelmed" quote, I take it as Christine Godlewski in the previews holding her sisters on her shoulders.

Hey, it's The Big O. And it's the Metro. Will they go North to Montreal and then come down South to the finish line? Finish can't be in Canada, can it?

They go Toronto (preview photos of Pearson Int'l with the GTAA logo in the background-terminal 1 I believe), then Montreal and then on to the finish in the States. Rumour has it as the US side of Niagra Falls. Is that where the boating was? Was that the Niagra below the falls or still somewhere in Montana?

Big O, the metro, Trudeau Airport and the boats seem to be the Lachine Rapids. The acrobats are most likely at the National Circus School (Cirque Du Soleil)

The airport is about 15 minutes west of the downtown core, and the Olympic Stadium is in the East End. I suspect they will take the metro to either Pie IX or Viau station.

Edit: Based on the AOL preview, they use the Place Victoria metro, head to American Pavillion from Expo 67 on Ile Notre Dame (faster to access it from the metro which will most likely mean to switch lines at Berri-UQUAM), and the trapeze place is here

The only reason I wish I was at TARCon this year is that I could be doing "I've been there!" for a full hour. Well except for the trapeze place which I am SO doing now.

Curling in the preview? They have to be in Canada. Some of the shots in the preview had Canadian signs, plus they were rumored to be down where I work at Toronto harbourfront and I saw familiar landmarks in the preview. If they land at Pearson Intl and have to make it down to the harbourfront I think that is a whole challenge in and of itself.
