I really, really disliked Lorien. I think he is as bad and annoying as Byron in season 5. Actually, Lorien might be worse. The garibaldi stuff is worth watching. As is the Franklin and Marcus fun.

War Without End Part One
-Sinclair is back! Zathras is back! Both at the same time! heh, time.
-I was really happy to see Sinclair again, I've missed him. It was great seeing him work with Sheridan and see the differences between them as they stood side by side. Though it really hammered home how much more charisma Sheridan has, though I do like that weird calm Sinclair has now. He's clearly been through some things and grown because of it, I like that.
-Rejoice Marcus lovers, for the first time ever I enjoyed him completely this episode. He was funny and I liked seeing him interact with Sinclair, his actual superior. Sure, he shows similar reverence and obediance to Delenn, but so does everyone else so it really stood out more when he did it with Sinclair.
-This whole episode was pretty much just whacking me in the face with one plot twist after anouther. WHAM Sinclair is back! WHAM Sector 14 is acting up with messages form the future! WHAM Epsilon 3 is the source of the disturbance! WHAM the White Star steals Babylon 4! WHAM Zathras is back and suddenly his actions form his last episode make perfect sense! WHAM that means Sinclair is The One! WHAM Sheridan is gone, unstuck in time! WHAM Centauri Prime is in flames and Londo is Emperor and Sheridan is getting the crap kicked out of him.
-Sinclair and Delenn seem to have recieved information from somebody in the past, from around nine hundred years ago, my guess is that it's from Valen. Sinclair mentioned in his message to Garibaldi, loved the rapid fire shout outs to his previous discussions with Sinclair when trying to guess the password, that he wouldn't be coming back and if they take the station back one thousand years than that should put him right at the right time for Valen to be active. Maybe Valen programs the triluminary to react to Sinclair's DNA so they'll have a way to stop the Earth/Minbari war and save Sinclair and the rest and preserve the timeline? Maybe that's how Delenn became part human, it iunfused her with Sinclair's DNA?
-Sinclair seemed pleased when he saw that Delenn and Sheridan were holding hands, I guess he approves of their relationship, even comforting her when Sheridan is lost. It's a shame we didn't see him react to Delenn's new form, she was still in the crysilis when he left and I don't think they've mentioned that they've been in direct contact since then. I'm pretty sure Delenn hasn't gone back to Minbar since her transformation, planetary rejection likely would have broken her.
-I wonder what the reasons were for Zathras to be so honored to meet both Sinclair and Sheridan? He seemed to completely ignore Delenn, which strikes me as strange seeing as how Zathras seems to report to Draal and Draal is a close friend of hers.
-I wonder, how much do sinclair and Delenn really know? Their letters seemed to contain different information, Delenn was taken completely off guard by Sheridan's dissappearance but Sinclair seemed almost happy it happened, like it confirmed that he really does know what's coming. I guess I should take that as a sign that things will turn out well, at least in the short term.
-Will Sheridan remain trapped in that time? Is that the official future or anouther alternate like the one where B5 is destroyed by the Shadows?
-Speaking of which, that caught me off guard, seeing Ivanova freak out and then seeing the fleet of Shadow ships and the station's destruction. And poor Garibaldi, having to watch Ivanova die four time? Ouch, that could seriously screw him up emotionally.
-What the hell happened to Centauri Prime and how is it Sheridan's fault?
Looking forward to seeing part two. I'm all excited.

In part 2, Sinclair almost has a "Michael Rennie" look to him (from 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'). I do agree that the contrast between Sinclair and Sheridan is striking in the episode.

That's why I still refer to B5 as one of, if not the, best Sci-Fi shows of all time. I loved that there were no real throw away lines or plots that everything hinted at early on; even if it was confusing or didn't make sense at the time; was eventually paid off.
And there is so much more "Holy crap!" to come, not just in the next episode, but on through season 4. The great thing now is you begin to see some of the early enigmas revealed, which is the true genius of Babylon 5.
Of course there were a few instances where real life through JMS a curve-ball and he had to compensate in the story but overall the big picture was very well plotted.
Modern shows could learn from having an actual plan too many seem to just throw out question upon question and have no real plan that seems very dissatisfying to me; I'm sure most Lost fans would attest to that.

This is the problem with tv and Lost is probably the textbook example. These kinds shows just can't go on and on and on. You have to tell the story and get out. As much as I loved Farscape I thought 5 seasons would have been best. But no show should go past 7.

Please watch WWEII now before my head explodes.
He is lucky that he has DVD's. I remember from WWE through season four. I could not wait for the next episode. And the long break between seasons. Did not help. The events of season four just to good. Even the most hated thing that someone did that raised many an ire.

-HOLY CRAP SINCLAIR IS VALEN! I was not expecting that and it leads my mind to even further holy crap moments. Sinclair is Valen, Valen formed the Grey Council and formed Minbari society into what it is, all of which he learned from Delenn whom learned it from the teachings of Valen. This means Delenn and Sinclair created each other! And everything Valen propheside happened because Sinclair had witnessed it already! Maybe I'm way off but maybe teh triluminary didn't transform Sinclairt all the way into a Minbari, it would explain how they could call him a Minbari not born of Minbari, so maybe he had children and bred some human DNA into the Minbari people? It would explain why the otherwise hairless Minbari sometimes have beards. I wonder what happened to Zathras? Maybe he's still alive and wandering around Minbar with that vorlon? Speaking of Vorlons there were two there at the end alongside Sinclair, would I be wrong in believing one of them to be Kosh?
-Marcus manages anouther whole episode without annoying me and managed to even be funny again. And he even managed to spend time with Ivanova without hitting on her. Progress! I may start liking him yet! He's cartainly pulled ahead of Lyta.
-So, in the future, Sheridan and Delenn are together and have adopted a son named David, whom we don't see. It seems that instead of being transported there he simply inhabitted his future body wherever it was at the time. So, they defeat the Shadows but a new enemy takes their place and planted some kind of parasite on Londo in order to control him. I'll assuem the parasite people are the ones that wrecked Centauri prime, and Londo knocks it out by out drinking it and setting Delenn and Sheridan free. And, with all other hope gone he surrenders himself to his greatest fear, knowing it would destroy him! Wow, it seems the death Londo has been dreaming of his whole life, the fate he's been trying to avoid the whole time, is a mercy kill from his 'old friend" (friend!?) G'Kar to save Sheridan, Delenn and his people! Talk about a major plot twist! And it looks like Vir will in fact become emperor with Londo dead, but he certainly didn't look happy about it.
-Back in Babylon Squared I went ona little rant about how they kept Delenn off screne when they showed future Sinclair and about how it was pointless since it was so obvious it was Delenn. Now I realise the point wasn't hiding it was Delenn, but hiding that she would transform into being part human!
-So, Sinclair is The One who Was, Delenn is The One who Is and Sheridan is The One who Will Be? I wonder when they switched roles? Zathras seemed very excited about meeting Sinclair but almost ignored Delenn completely at first. Was she not The One until mid episode?
-Delenn seemed almost lost with Sheridan gone, she must really be invested in him already. She even had a flash forward of watching him sleep. But then someone comes in and surprises her. I wonder who that is and when it'll happen? Did she recognise the person? Maybe it was a flash back instead and it had already happened? Maybe she'd snuck into his quarters to watch him and got caught?
-Is Marcus suicideal or was he just trying to protect Sinclair?
Posted May 11, 2012 @ 1:55 PM
One thing, I don't think Sheridan and Delenn adopt a child. After all, Delenn is part human.
Yes, Marcus is suicidal. Not sure if you know the reason why yet.

I do believe one of them was Kosh. Basically if you watch The Gathering, they completely give it away.
Speaking of Vorlons there were two there at the end alongside Sinclair, would I be wrong in believing one of them to be Kosh?
I strongly recommend reading to Dream in the City of Sorrows.
Maybe I'm way off but maybe teh triluminary didn't transform Sinclairt all the way into a Minbari, it would explain how they could call him a Minbari not born of Minbari, so maybe he had children and bred some human DNA into the Minbari people?
I just love the end of this episode with everyone WTF-ing all over the place. That's Marcus' best line in the entire series easily, slightly ahead of "all this technology and it still takes forever to get anywhere." And I have to include Ivanova: The ones who stole B4 are us? WTF?
Basically, the dialogue could have been:
Marcus: holy shit! Well that explains a lot. Ivanova: you have got to be fucking kidding me [I always thought she would have had a foul mouth]. Delenn: I had a crush on my grandfather? Ew. Lennier: Am I part human? I feel kind of gross. Sheridan: Now what hell do we do?
When I first watched it, I figured it out right when Lennier (?) said, How will the Minbari accept a human to lead them against the Shadows? *beat* Me: OHNOWAY!!!! Marcus: Good god...
Easily *the* best payoff in tv. And I love Farscape, but this beats it.
Do you new viewers know that in the original make up of the show, this was to happen at the end of the series?
