A drunken quickie Vegas wedding being her cry for help?

George Maloof Jr., owner of the Palms Casino and Hotel, where Spears was staying over the New Year's Eve holiday and weekend, confirmed Spears and Alexander, both 22, were wed around 5 a.m. PST (8 a.m. EST/1300 GMT) on Saturday at a Las Vegas wedding chapel. He declined further comment.

However, a friend of Spears who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told Reuters that by late Saturday afternoon, all the annulment papers had been signed by both Spears and Alexander in the presence of an attorney, a notary public, Spears' brother Brian, her manager Larry Rudolph and Maloof.

The annulment papers were expected to be filed when the courts open on Monday morning, the friend said.

They're going to have to revise that program about shortest celebrity weddings now. Speaking of, VH1 was showing All Access: Britney vs. Christina tonight. Britney's boobs, Christina's clothes, funny stuff. They said that to the general public the two are pretty much interchangeable. And that probably gnaws at them both.

Her album has shipped 2 million copies (according to Rueters it's only sold 1.6 million), which would be great if she was somebody else. Kelly Clarkson has also hit 2 million and Hilary Duff 2.4 million. Even That's What I Call Music vol. 14 has outsold her.

Anyway, when is Britney bringing out a new video? I'm getting mighty sick of seeing Madonna gyrating on the floor. She ruins a perfectly good cheesy pop video with her gap-toothed presence.

I've always thought that Madonna looked like Mr. Peanut in that video.

Hee Gloworm! That's my first needing a new keyboard laugh here at TWoP. Not sure why it was so funny, but she does indeed seem very Hans Moleman salty, plus the cane and general decrepitness. To cover all the bases, I usually refer to her as the Hag.

Britney was so on something during that little stunt. Nobody will ever convince me otherwise, what a crackpot. No more videos, please!

Get that Britney chick some new PR management/people, STAT. Whatever she's doing, it ain't workin'.

Ain't working? I've seen this story on virtually every news programme over the past few days. Say what you want about Britney, but one thing she knows how to do is generate publicity.

...but maybe Christina Aguilera was right when she claimed Britney was a "lost soul".

I would take anything that Christina has to say with a pinch of salt. From a recent interview:

Spears is shocked by the quotation; her eyes widen. "That's funny," she fumes, "because I haven't seen her in two years, and then she comes up to me in a club in front of all these people and tries to put her tongue down my throat! I'm like, 'How are you?'..."

Spears, clearly furious at Aguilera's put-down, continues: "I say, 'It's good to see you,' and she goes, 'Well, you're not being real with me.' I was like, 'Well Christina. What's your definition of being real? Going up to girls and kissing them after you haven't seen them for two years?' A lost girl? I think it's probably the other way around."

No one, I repeat, no one should ever remake a Prince song. I don't care how old the song is, don't touch it.

Please send this out to all record companies so that no one will ever make this mistake again.

They're going to have to revise that program about shortest celebrity weddings now.

And that'll be another way for Britney to keep her name in everyone's mouth.

Texas actually did a pretty good cover of Prince's Take Me With You. I like it, which says a lot because its one of my most favorite Prince songs and I normally despise covers.

They're going to have to revise that program about shortest celebrity weddings now.

Hee, I was just thinking that. And I believe Christina when she says Britney's a lost soul. I don't see Christina as being a liar whereas Britney has been caught in numerous lies. God, Britney is so pathetic.

Speaking of Kellis, I heard her entire cd and was actually disappointed (although I like Milkshake). Kinda hopin' she gets that Grammy for Milkshake though.

I have it and minus about two or three songs, the cd has actually grown on me. It's not bad. She hooked up with Raphael Saddiq which is a good thing. I hear her next single will be the one she did with Nas. I'm disappointed because that song is one of the ones that sucks.

I'm waiting for the Playboy photospread to appear soon. Y'all know that with all that she's been wearing now, it's inevitable.

I think Hustler is more fitting (no pun intended). In the meantime, isn't there a pole in some strip joint with her name on it?

They've been around for six years? Man.

I never really liked them. Always reminded me of 4 (or how ever many there are of them) little Sisqos to me. And what has Sisqo been up to? He was doing well. Then he just disappeared.

Topic: That Blu Cantrall video has definitely become less blue.
And they've finally put the Maroon 5 Harder to Breathe video on commercial channels in the UK . Not sure if that's a good or bad thing. At least I can oggle at Adam some more. Though I'm leaning more towards the drummer these days.

And he (Ryan Dusick, the drummer) is so fucking hot in person!

Why do MTV2 in the UK never show any fucking Sigur Ros videos? Grr.

Maybe the first three letters of the name of that channel can answer that for you. ;o)

Speaking of Sigur Ros, I love them. I remember when I saw them on Last Call With Carson Daly sometime last year performing Untitled #1. I was so mesmerized that my eyes started welling up with water.

Sigur Ros is great shagging music. My favourite one is the one I always thought went "It'syou-oooo" but on looking up the lyrics its actually "Tjuuuuuuu". I'm such an idiot to think it was a little bit of English.

I saw that picture on MTV. Only 3 of the group are under new management. The lead singer is embarking on a solo career.

What Blu Cantrell video was that? It looks like she abandoned the US market to be famous overseas.

I'm just kind of curious as to which everyone thinks are the best/most clever/interesting/funniest music videos? I'm a dork and I download my favorite music videos online. I'll share my thoughts...

Jamiroquai, "Virtual Insanity." Everyone thinks that video is cool. I watch it trying to figure out how the hell they did that.

Prodigy, "Smack My Bitch Up." The video kind of makes me feel drunk and angry but the way it's shot is really cool. The ending was pretty interesting the first time I saw it too. The song gets me pumped.

Foo Fighters, "Big Me." I miss those old-school Mentos commercials. This video is a short but funny parody.

Redman, "I'll Bee Dat!" Okay, the first few times I saw the part with the girl on the bike, that just cracked my shit up!

Micheal Jackson, "Beat It" and "Bad." Good songs. Good choreography. Funny clothes.

Blur, "Coffee & T.V." The milk carton is really cute.

Britney Spears, "I'm A Slave For You." Um....

I have a lot of videos I really like but those are some good ones, to me.

Here You go! Its the second paragraph that explains how it was made.

Word to the Blur video, the milk carton and his strawberry milk girlfriend are the cutest.

I'll add "Goin' Fishin" by Weezer, cause, you know, the Muppets rule.

The first time I saw the is video I had a "WTF?" look on my face the entire time. After I saw the ending I was floored. They don't make videos like that anymore.

One of the funniest videos ever. Redman and Foo Fighters always make funny videos that you never forget.

Heh, on TRL today, they had viewers call in to vote on what video they DON'T want to see. The "winner" would be locked in a vault and will be ineligible for voting on the next day (it'll be eligible the day after that.) Kelis and Britney were high vote-getters, but Clay Aiken's video was the "winner" and was locked in vault.

I bet the Claymates are pissed.

Okay, but how the fuck does "Invisible" go from not on the list to be put in the vault to #3 (understandable), but then zooming to the top in the last five minutes? Phone votes always seem to screw Clay over, don't they? ;)
I mean, come on. At least it's better than Kelis jiggling her boobies in "Milkshake". That video is so over the top I start to think it's a parody, until I came to the sinking realization that she was serious. "Caught Out There" was kick-ass, however. But it didn't sell as much as this BS. Speaking of, why wouldn't the viewers want a break from Britney for a day? Girl is everywhere with her dumbass marriage stunt. At least Jessica Simpson's stupidity is relatively benign. Brit seems to have actual problems. (You weren't drunk, you say? Bullshit.)

They also played part of the Maroon 5 video. I absolutely love the song, and for some reason, I found the whole faux music video sex hot. Because it's TRL, they didn't even show the whole thing, because they suck.

ETA: I heard Milkshake is about, as Ludacris would say, making your mammary glands jiggle. The Urban Dictionary website has a lot of freaky definitions, including (spoilered for the queasy) a sloppy blowjob, titty fucking, when the dick is entered into the ear at a 63 degree angle and the ear wax is disrupted by the thrust, and when you stick a straw into the womans vagina and suck out all her her pussey (milkshake) juices....

This is what Kelis herself says:

Kelis says "Milkshake is just that thing that makes a woman stand out from everyone else. It's a thing that makes you sensual and warm and maternal. It could be about breasts but I don't have huge t*** so you gotta work with what you got."

Okay. I'm just sick of the song already.

I'm still pretty sure "Milkshake" is something of a parody, since Kelis seems to have a pretty good sense of humor. Come on, that part where she takes a butt-shaped bun out of the oven?
Okay, I just liked "Caught Out There" and "Young, Fresh 'N' New", so I'm willing to give her the benefit of a doubt.

Has anyone by any chance seen that Aphex Twin video, "Windowlicker?" It's a freaky-ass video, I'd avoid it when you're stoned. It's videos like that that make me wonder if sometimes directors make them weird for weirdness' sake or if there's any artistic motivation behind them.

Thanks KateQD, even knowing how they made the video, I get all confused when the couch is stuck to the wall and is suddenly moving around the room. Word on the Weezer video, the Muppets are mad cute in it.

About the song "Milkshake" and not the video, what is it a metaphor for? I thought it meant the way she shakes her ass or something but other people dispute me and seem to think it has to do with, um, oral pleasure. (Sorry! I couldn't think of another way to put it.)

Wow splitchick59, after reading that particular definition, seeing the shot of the milkshake overflowing in her video will forever make me feel dirty now. Admitting that, "I like chocolate milkshakes" just feels dirty now too. Everything must always be made sexual. Argh!

On a side note, didn't The Neptunes produce that record as they do most of Kelis' stuff? I love me some Pharrell.
